Helpful to know that the Midmark M11 autoclave is 'gravity displacement ' (says the Burkhart service guy) and that means instruments should be placed paper side down , paper will dry more effectively.
I see your using a Midmark machine. The manual for that machine states load the packages either in a rack standing on their side or paper side down.

Also the MFI for M11 and M9 steam sterilizers say to place "paper side down"

Why don't you just wear gloves? Spray gloves with ethanol prior to handling packs. Then you can handle them as many times as your heart pleases.
