Something else I know…you guys think the way you do because of your aerospace background. It’s why I think the way I do and when Keven told me what you used to do, I knew Ameribrade was the only choice because you guys understand that precision and close tolerances make a difference. I definitely appreciate your passion for the machine and making it the best thing available.

I think I’m even more impressed now with my grinder and Ameribrade after seeing the amount of time, effort, and precision that you put into the platen alone. It is where the magic happens, but still. Very impressive!

Love the video guys! Thanks again Kevin For sending those three wheels to Germany for my six inch rotary platen!
I really Love how you guys are so Family knit together, and how the customers are Always The Priority! Keep making The Best Machines, and making videos for the guys that break things and blame others…;-)

Great video guys. This certainly demonstrates the thought process and the concern for excellence and precision you have in making your components. I also appreciate your willingness to be transparent about your thinking and decision making. Bravo. It’s a great validation of why I chose AmeriBrade for my grinder.

Great video guys, glad you mentioned flipping and rotating. Your thought and care in your brand and product is what makes Ameribrade! No reason to own anything else.

Love the content guys. I specifically asked Keven about whether or not you got rid of the countersunk screws when I ordered last year at BladeShow TX because I planned to use glass. I haven’t had any issues with it. I wouldn’t mind seeing a long platen option…maybe 50% longer. Obviously that would be a totally different attachment, but a nice option to have. I did send Eric some more thoughts on the wrap around table via email…I’ll think you’ll like them. Thanks for being so involved with your customers!

Ooof, god bless your friend for diligently surface grinding each one of those platens. Yeah I’d have a heart attack if each one need to be ground down .020”.
I remember one time I had wanted everything square and flat to get a nice and precise fitup, I could tell the platen needed a touch up. Pretty sure it was only .004”-.005” down to a clean grind across the surface.
Seems like silly tolerances for a belt grinder, but even those that wouldn’t notice would still benefit from such precision. And any dingus wanting something tighter than that would have the equipment to make that happen.

Thanks Charlie! I'm sure Marc appreciates the recognition of the monotonous work he cranks through for us.

I would love for you guys to put out a glass platen add on. I’ve been though a few platens from suppliers that are lacking in quality. Mostly the edges aren’t chamfered properly or the cuts aren’t square.

It’s literally the amount of precision I require when I inspect a motor change or a flight control rigging on a 737…I think that’s too many comments for one video. LOL!

Can I purchase a vfd from somewhere else and use it on your grinder? Mine crapped out on me after a couple months and I can't get a hold of anybody to help.

What oversize tap do you have to run to allow for a .030" depth of case hardening?

We were worried about that at first and had them mask the threads, but it turns out the case doesn't change the dimensions of the surface by any considerable amount. The tapped hole remains relatively unchanged so the normal thread clearances are still functional (class 2B). The carbon isn't building up on the surface, its infusing into the grain boundaries of the steel.
