- I always have difficulties when it comes to beating video games. I've learned to accept that i'm not good and how i can always walk away from a game and never touch it again.

Thank you for this video! I thought I was alone in abandoning games over the dread of getting stuck in a part of a game and just giving up altogether because it stops being fun. There are so many games out there and wanting to experience them but not having the skill or patience or time required to do so is a nightmare.
Three words: Sunk cost falacy. If I've put x-amount of time into a game, I don't want that time to have been for nothing. And if it's because of bs mechanics that I find myself stuck, I wanna beat the game at its own game.
I get what you mean, but if the whole game up to the point where you got stuck was really fun, and you're what? 20 hours in, you can either do as you said, I sunk in this much time, now I have to beat it, or just say, well, it was fun while it lasted, I (probably?) got my moneys (and times) worth, sometimes the journey is more important than the destination, and move on to a new (or replay an old) game that'll be more fun to you (I've done both so I understand both decisions :D)

Yeah, like I said though, I've done both, the most memorable examples of both are: playing through The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess when I was young, I got stuck on the Bulblin king fight on the Bridge of Eldin, I had some anger issues back then and my fist ended up making a huge dent in my bedroom door..., I kept going till I beat him and eventually beat the game (worth it cause I'm a huge Zelda fan, not worth all that anger though (but tell that to a young me), the other is far more recent, I somehow struggled my way through the entirety of Elden Ring, only to give up at the last form of the last boss, I had trouble with other bosses and barely made it past some of them, but I could barely beat the first form of the last boss, be it bs or skill issue, I was never going to beat it, but at this point I had 160+ hours of playtime and decided I got well over my moneys worth and minus the final boss, I had fun most of those 160+ hours, so, my maidenless tarnished's journey just ends by being permanently killed by the final boss, and thats fine (I will probably replay Elden Ring when the dlc releases, but I still probably won't beat the final boss (I'll also have to replay from the beginning since I deleted my save)

I have long come to terms with the fact that I am not a good enough gamer to beat the Data Battles in Kingdom Hearts 3, nor the super boss battle "Lingering Will" in Kingdom Hearts 2 or the super boss "Vanitas" or "No Name" in Birth By Sleep. The super bosses in Kingdom Hearts in genereal are bullshit. They of course have a pattern you need to memorize, but some of them require SPLIT micro second reaction time.
What if this game have other qualities that might stick with you forever and even makes you dream. Would you abandon it because of à simple mechanic ?
I beat almost none of the single player games I buy.
I’ve experienced so many, they have to really be exceptional to hold my attention. That’s the games fault not my own. I’m not playing something mediocre just to finish it.
I can watch the cutscenes on TH-cam for free.
