𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐲 𝟐 is a free-to-play online first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie. It was originally released as a pay to play game in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It became free-to-play, utilizing the games as a service model, under the New Light title on October 1, 2019, followed by the game's release on Stadia the following month, and then PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms in December 2020. The game was published by Activision until December 31, 2018, when Bungie acquired the publishing rights to the franchise. It is the sequel to 2014's 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐲 and its subsequent expansions. Set in a "mythic science fiction" world, the game features a multiplayer "shared-world" environment with elements of role-playing games. Players assume the role of a Guardian, protectors of Earth's last safe city as they wield a power called Light to protect humanity from different alien races and combat the looming threat of the Darkness.

Pre-Beyond Light edition when?
Yah I'd love a "D2 Classic" to be released, at least then they could vault SHadowkeep. THat or they should find some way to unvault all the old content, maybe for people with limited storage space they can add a system where you can choose to install specific "legacy" content. THen you can install what you want, run through it, and uninstall it so you can keep the normal storage space amount. Or give us "D2 Classic" since they've already vaulted most of that, Red War, Curse, Warmind, FOrsaken, all the seasons up to Beyond Light, all that's left is 3 old destinations, Shadowkeep and any patrol or strike activities tied to those locations. Just make it with the old content up to Arrivals, but include current basic gameplay upgrades like the current Light based Supers.
@@TheZamaron Sunsetting old destinations conpletely demolished the lore and storyline cohesion, at least to me. The new light mission transition to the campaigns feels extremely abrupt and unnatural. It's like the end of time right now in Destiny's universe and I am still waiting for Bungie to add old campaigns back into the game.

I miss D2 vanilla
Yah Destiny now has a very wierd new player experiance. You either have to watch throught the old content and just say you've been a Guardian for years, or see you playing through all of the old story content as like you running some combat simulations based off the adventures of THE Guardian who's gone through them since D1. Esepcially since the whole New Light thing does take place exactly right before Beyond Light because of 2 things. The Tower intro mission shows the Traveler fully restored, and Beyond Light literally has part of the story take the player to the Cosmodrome where Shaw Han is currently guiding new Guardians in the Cosmodrome. So yah, an odd experiance for new players.
