    Nice mate … nice! Yak tip for you … don’t try and surf waves coming in … try and let them pass under you by back pedaling (on a Hobie you will need to engage the reverse drive) but use your oar / paddle to drive forward immediately after the wave has passed and keep paddling forward until the next wave is coming then back pedal again to slow you up and ideally reverse and you will retain control of your yak. I’ve done it quite a few times but then again I’m lucky and have an Old Town Predator that has instantaneous reverse so landing in surf is so much easier for me. But that’s the goal nonetheless. Great little fishing outing and good to see you post another yak day out. Cheers Bruh 😎

      Good video mate. Very entertaining surfing them waves in lol. I have a hobie outback new model and got caught in 6m swell that came from no where. That was hair-raising and not planned at all. ps them shark shields have a good kick 😆 🤣

      I reckon that’s a bloody awesome rides mate! Couldn’t have been better. Hat off for venturing those waves where in fact your by yourself, we’ll call it unplanned plan. Lots of tips as well how to Cath good fish, looking forward for more videos. Great point of view and for mentioning shark shield buddy. Truely full of guts and we’ll equipped in regards launching that yak despite your first try on the spot.

      Hi @Paul M, thanks for yak tip! This was actually the initial plan, the line to where the waves breaks changes depending on the size of the swell that comes in, I found a gap and full throttle coming in but a decent size swell caught up on me as I went past the sand bank, I saw the white wash at the back of me thinking it was done but nah, it picked me up and I left with no other option but to ride it and lucky enough i was able to keep the yak on top of it whilst it's breaking and landed it upright :D

      @@deancampbell1414 Thanks mate! I'd pooped myself if I get caught by that size wave :D
      Lucky to have that shark shield turned off when I surfed the wave! :D

    I’m not sure an Outback is the best choice for beach launches!

    • @AbeVentures
      @AbeVentures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I thought the same, bud, but there's no turning back at that point. I'm glad I was able to punch out and ride waves back in with it.
      I can always remember the feeling of the adrenaline rushing through my veins while trying to get through the breakers, it was darn epic!👌

    Hey mate, how’s the kayak going for you? Planning to buy my first kayak din sana para makafish dito sa perth. Thinking of hobie or stealth. Hehe

    • @AbeVentures
      @AbeVentures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @JosephTries, hey bro, all is well! thanks for asking, I actually did few trips during holiday season, looking forward to upload it soon :)
      To answer you question on my other video... - no, I did not sell the stealth, I actually upgraded to a newer version, I posted a reel in facebook yesterday about it, and it's off for it's maiden voyage this weekend! please check my facebook page "AbeVenutres" if you are keen to see it :)
      I have 3 kayaks, a hobie outback 2015, a stealth profisha 475 and a hobie outfitter, all are being used depends on how I feel, and the condition and target specie.
      The outback is my main kayak which I used in most occasion, I'm confident launching/landing it thru the surf.
      I use the stealth kayak when I am targeting much bigger fish and for spearfishing, utilising it's massive hatch to easily shove my stuff in :)
      I'm using my outfitter if I am taking someone out, most of the time, my girlfriend where I do most of the work as I find it hard to baby sit her if we are on separate kayaks especially when sorting out snags haha.
