A man and the only man I would aspire to.. As i said to my wife Today funny as it may sound he is the only one who did his charity to my knowledge in a secret sort of way.. How good is that ?? Well its very very good as he was very very good at what he did but more important HE WAS GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think Mr Dunlop new what he really was infarct I don't think he cared he was just A MAN !!!!! A human as all humans should be I wish i was half the person he was Brave considerate humble infact if our so called religious leaders were to follow his lead they might, just might, get more bums on seats to listen to them.. Joey you are so missed and will always be missed by good honest folk you will never believe how much we really miss you R.I.P. Fella !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Met the man himself in the pits at dundrod road circuit when I was maybe 15/16 that was 35+ years ago, he gave me his autograph on back of my jacket and that's a memory that's stuck with me to this day, he was a proper legend
Simple...Joey was a gentleman and a legend..the roads just ain't the same without him...if there is a heaven hopefully there's twisty roads.. Joey will be there still doing his magic... Thanks for the memories Joey..
As a Northern Irishman I'm fiercely proud of the sporting legends our wee country has produced over the years. George Best, Pat Jennings, Alex Higgins, Dennis Taylor, Barry McGuigan, I could even go back to the likes of rugby legend Mike Gibson. But when it comes down to it, I'm not even a biker, but Joey Dunlop was the best ever. His achievements on his bike put him immediately at the top of the list of sporting legends, but when you add in his charity work, not just donating a few quid, but driving alone on two thousand mile trips to orphanages in Romania... WHAT A MAN!!! Whoever put this set of clips together, thank you. You've reduced me to a puddle of tears, but thank you.
I would rather live a day as joey than a lifetime as some of the uneducated people who do not understand why MEN like joey do the things they do . R.I.P JOEY
Rest In Peace. You guys that race road races are incredible! Unbelievably brave and skilled like no other. Much respect, and thank you for the viewing pleasure. My condolences to all those that have passed via motorcycle racing. Thank you so much. You are all amazingly awesome!!!!!!
Man... i watch this video always... takes me to another world, relax. Sad too, because we lost a great awesome pilot, but is a beautiful tribute with a good music. Congrats and rest in peace Joey.
I live beside your das favorite track Dundrod i will never forget the 1999 superbike race against Jefferies what a race a legend on the track and off it packing the van every year to show his kindness to the orphans in the Balkans RIP yer maun
sir william josph dunlop true ledgend he made irish road raceing what it is to day the man acheved his goals in life to race for as long as pos an to make road raceing more popler i got a lot of respect for him and his family x x r.i.p x x
In the Lake District about 6 miles east of Keswick, next to the village of Threlkeld there's a mountain known as Blencathra. If you climb to the ridge (2700ft) via the path that goes up Blease fell, at about 1800ft up theres a T shirt splayed out over a large rock held down by heavy stones. The T shirt bears the legend: 'Joey Dunlop - King of the road.' I don't know how long it has been there but nobody has disturbed it. I'd never heard of this man had I not climbed the fell.
I,m crying too! A true Ulster giant and hero who will never be forgotten. Ditto SPONGE 01. And yes XXXDANNYBOYXXX a movie would be great! I remember seeing Joey race at the UGP, NW200 and TEMPLE 100 when I lived there. What memories! of him and others like Tommy Heron, Mick Grant, John Williams and many more who got r adrenalin pumping like crazy by who they were and what they loved to do. They,re all Giants and heroes and will never be forgotten.
I'm glad you like it, song is Dancing, artist is Elisa. I love this song, it was important for me to associate my tribute to Joey. He remain forever in my heart.
Joey Dunlop foi e continuara sendo o rei the king da ilha de man isla off man. Meus sinceros sentimentos a familhia de joe dunlop e que seu filhos tenhão o mesmo sucesso do pai.
Joey with the graetest nuts , sorry for my bad english i only want to say that joey is the gratest racer for me , yes i am from germany but do not hurting me please , i love joey
I was around riding in the 60,s I think Joey and Mc Guinness were far better than Mike The bike You see in my day, Mike made a lap record of 108mph average I watched the tributes and the 4 part series Tears in my eyes I still ride I would rather my sons were on the track, than on the road Ciao Joey
Yes Mike the Bike was amazing , but its so hard to compare the rider's of different times the bikes were so so different I am so happy have been able to have seen them both.
I say it again I never knew anything about the real history of the isle of man or Joey Dunlop, but for those of us that were..fortunate to have worn dainese race leathers before you get one arm in the leathers something stops you it's...a big white label properly positioned so see it stand out from the regular smaller label it says welcome an feel confident and a little safer knowing we got you skin covered, these multi time world champions have worn these same leathers...one guy I notice his name like 5 times,Joey 26times isle of mans, definitely the king, most racers are fortunate to win one national superbike race, the t t 37.miles a lap time 6laps,those leathers I put my shoulder into a west Virginia race track and my knuckles too, going like 50 mph stopping for turn one, from 150,it was for some years later, that I even bother to look for scratches or any damage there wasn't even a mark of any kind, truly letting me relax if I was to fall off going over 120mph plus these leathers would do their job it was up to me to do mine. But just that confidence, helps your focus tremendously,it might seem like nothing to the average person,I'm sure people buy these race leathers and ride around looking pretty and never realize the company their riding in me I notice and it gave me a sense of pride, and pressure the good kind of pressure that I've got to carry on this Jacket's legacy gladly accepted,an especially tributed to those peoples,"champions names, that had earned the right to be honored by that company for their commitment to having become one with a motorcycle, and achieved a level beyond, that company expectations, and beyond anyone's expectations,to remember those achievements with label the size of plaque I thought was really a classy way to do it...plus for some reason it really motivated the shot out of me,cause my dad didn't want me to race bike cause my uncle you to race was hurt racing back when they were just starting to put fairings on bikes, look 1957 or so ...they wouldn't talk to me about it at all,and never have, but I know my dad and that was probably all he ever wanted,he had that look when he walked away from the picture of my uncle Bart on his BSA leaning into a corner probably doin 75 or 80 mph fast then,me standing there spit just drooling out of my mouth, uncle Bart really look quite impressive,I had no idea...Joey rock on ,rock on.
They should make a movie about Joey Dunlop.
