Actually its mostly bounced out / samples. Lots of automation as well and seems to have lots of unused automation as well. Samples and automation dont take nearly as much CPY as processing synths does.

90% of what you are looking at is just layers split into multiple tracks and automation tracks that are doing absolutely nothing. It's a decent song for what it is, but it really doesn't need to look like that at all.

If this was mastered even a little using plugins or even any of his sounds are 3rd party this would not be playable due to the CPU just freezing up every track truly was a completly different midi sound .

It's a fucking overcomplicated mess. And after all that worthless effort this guy put into making it, in is not so impressive after all. Feels so blend.
Edit: Not to be misunderstood though! I don't say the track itself is not good, but all those channels are not required. There are tracks out there that do not use more than 25 to 30 channels and are still considered masterpieces.
This song here has 60 channels, altough the variety of it did not meet my expectations. As I said, it feels blend, because of it having a similar type of beat all along the track. There are a lot of not so loud effect that can be heard tho, but they do not do the trick well.
In conclusion, the effort/result ratio is not great, I admit we shall appreciate the effort this producer put into this song, but it is not like it should not sound good as well.

Other than that, I also partially agree that the amount of tracks is a little overkill for the actual complexity of the song. It's still good though nevertheless but in terms of showing off the track it's rather extreme. Other than that though, nice work on the track Volterix!

@Mihai Duţă, Your comment is valid, but Is ridiculous than people still thinking like this... a master piece is not defined by the number of mixer channels, I mean it can be done also with 10 if you want, but hey! nowadays can bes as well with 100, ask vangelis, or if you want go modern days ask sphongle, infected mushroom, or savant for example, and by the way... This track in a fast look its 37 - 39 mixer channels, the rest are just automations and that "mess" of not be able to hide them pertains to Image Line programers, not to the producers ;)

You see, I'm not saying it sounds bad nor it is badly produced. All i wanted to point out that this is guy is using it to gain views because people who don't have any idea about music production will click it and be all impressed. And i doubt there is any other point in having so many tracks full of automation clips and FX.
There is no mastering on that track. Mastering is postproduction. " POST ". Mastering isn`t something wich gets delivered with a project file. It`s something, wich is done, BASED on the project file and something called " Stems ".

I think you mean WAY too much pointless work, half of the automation and samples probably don't effect the mix too much, it needs to be cleaned up a bit more or else you just look like you don't know what you're doing
You'd be surprised how much a small tweak could affect the mix/sound of the track and/or signal MASSIVELY!
But if your looking to get signed to a label and they see this shit they're gonna assume you have a pretty slow work flow because of disorganization and practically pointless automation and channels used, lessening your chances of being signed
All of this automation is completely unnecessary.. This is just showing off in a fake way. But at the end of the day, its about what you hear instead of what you see.

It's mainly due to FL's interface. Say if you want to automate 3 parameters of an effects chain for a sound; that's 3 tracks for the parameters plus one for the audio/midi. multiply that by however many sound you have playing at the same time and it gets really clustered.
Jeri Hanlon sry but i have to disagree... if i have 3 automation clips for a synth i put those 3 clips over the synth clip so i have all 4 tracks together... but i guess it depends on how everyone works. But this guy clearly just made pointless clips to show off...

But when i looked back at it and realized it's mostly useless automations
mostly samples too, you can achieve the same results with a couple of VST's, but I think some people find it easier to use samples instead of building chords and melody, witch is fair, but the same result can be achieved with less patterns

***** automations are to my knowledge in FL studio when you take an effect and make it run in a certain way with the help of a graph. For instance, id like to make the sound from treble to full bass.. then i will right click on a desired eq-slider and click "create automation clip" then a geaph will appear on the manually marked area on the playlist (where you mix all the sounds together). Then you can edit this graph in a way that you want the sound to change etc..all those straight lines and graphlike stuff in the video is basically automations
I guess it depends but i would guess some people consider automation clips as cheating and having no musical ability to make music without them. However i dont agree with it, because, i mean many many effects require an automation in order to sound right. So for me it doesn't make sense to hate on it..

Interesting that you can work so many layers and make it look like it's super complicated but your drop is clipping , to the max . That's a no no , unless you're a sellout EDM artist .

m3talh3ad123 No but I have mad dubstep for like 5 years for fun and every proper tutorial I have Ever watched told you to never clip , you always want to have head room which is the space that isn't clipping especially when vocals are involved . But when it comes to EDM in general the biggest joke is the mastering and producers just slam everything to the top and clip .

So what do you judge it by , you can literally throw this into any audio program and actually see it's gonna be clipping unless he turns it down , but then he would lose that "heavy" drop . He at least got the intro right by it being more quiet than loud so the drop feels bigger , but still clipping . 32 or 64 when I use FL that doesn't change shit , using asio as your sound driver will give you thing but true results .

I think the project is real. Some producers export the VSTs patterns to *.wav files because of the CPU can't handle the project using the live VST with effects and so on. But if I'm wrong, as Pyro said, it's still great :)

I prefer ableton's, FL looks better but ableton can look pretty nice with a good skin. I like ableton's organization of effects and lanes more, And dislike fl's focus on loops more
