I understand it’s your choice but it’s not 100% true. Consistency is key, the way I’m consistent is simplicity - i don’t follow workout program -I don’t count reps/sets - I don’t do tones of variations - i only do 2 variations of each muscle group, pullups/chinups,push-ups/dips,split squats/Pistol squats - I wake up everyday and workout 1-2 hours. I rest when extremely sore And push to failure or near failure.
i would add (sorry if you mentioned it and i missed it) some things related to nutrition. Ok, you mentioned healthy habits, but i would emphasize a couple things: 1.You cant rely just in working out. Your phisique and health wont change if you dont have a balanced nutrition. 2.Healthy eating is not a sacrifice: Its something you do as a gift to yourself, not a punishment or a sacrifice that can take you to abandon it or "cheating". Find food you like and you can stick to in a healthy way.
I watched this 3 times now. I would like to add one element to it, since im 31 😆. 31- Understand your weaknesses. Too often I've had wrist pain (even symptoms of CTS), back pain, or recently rotator cuff strain. By doing research and finding out which stretch was giving me relief I was able to understand how to correct those weaknesses and gain an advantage + prevent exacerbation of the issue. For my wrist I now wear a brace everynight, I changed my mouse to a trackball (as I use the pc a lot) and I added 2 stretches to my routine. For my rotator cuff, I am working on new stretches (with bands and a stick) to improve the situtaion. Finally, my back was mostly about correcting weak form when it came to heavy compound exercises involving legs. Knowledge is power. Yes there is paralysis by analysis but also sometimes simple solutions can work wonders and it's worth researching. TLDR: Our lifestyles create unique weaknesses and being on top of those is essential for optimal gains.
I have been training 44 years and now that I have wised up over the past 5 I personally believe this is the best way to go for health, functionality and longevity!
On the note of variation, cross training between disciplines is a great way to keep engaged, do gymnastics, cycle, go bushwalking, take up a martial art, rock climb, do some yoga... 2 or 3 at once dependent on the intensity required is plenty! :-)

As the footage goes, you can see that he also evolved in his finnacial life. You can see that he used to train in the backyard of a house, and now have a full gym in his house nice to see this
Nr. 18 has been huge for me. I also subscribed to the weak link to improve skills mentality for a long time. Sounded very logical and reasonable to me at the time until I repeatedly ran into a wall doing that. Then I said screw that and ran a program with only the basics and zero weak link stuff for 2 months straight and made more gains in this time than in a year of doing weak link stuff. This was the most counterintuitive lesson for me. For example my weighted pull-up went up by 12kg and my weighted pike pushup by 15kg during these two months. Prior to that while doing weak link stuff I was fighting hard for every 0.5kg increase on the pulls and often couldn't progress in weight at all.
Many, many great lessons I too have learned from you since I started following you in 2020! The one thing that I would add from my experience is: Failure is part of the journey. Get used to failing and starting over and progress will come almost automatically.
I have been looking time after time for a good online coach that is direct, specific and has a backed up knowledge and physical evidence. I have trained the last 2 years in aerial straps and have struggled to find scientific workouts to strengthen my shoulders and prevent injuries. Your programme is next to none, keep up the amazing work! Thank you.
- Avoid detraining at all costs. When life gets in the way and you cannot train as planned, at least do the minimum (short duration, high frequency) to avoid loosing your hard earned progress. - The health and integrity of your joints will ultimately decide your fit life longevity. Use full comfortable range of motion, use perfect form always, never trade correct form for a heavier load or one more rep, do mobility exercises, have an optimal nutrition - Be obsessed with progress at all times - even after your reach you peak for certain exercises (for example you squat 200 kg for one rep and you cannot add any more load), always look for different ways (and exercises) to make progress on

That sometimes in life the only sane and viable option is to let go of all or some of your gains that you've worked so hard for. Life happens. Sometimes we gain, other times we lose. What matters is to stay healthy both mentally and physiologically. Then apply all 30 lessons once you're in a position to start gaining again and you don't have to worry about anything.
Patience and learning are big ones for me. You can't get the results you want and need right away. That's what leads people quitting too soon. Learning is all part of the journey to your goals. Enjoy the journey and what comes with it. Also, you just turned 30 years old, yet you look like you could pass for a teenager. I'd say you are definitely doing something right with yourself. I've seen many people with families with healthy genes and heredity, but being unhealthy and looking unhealthy due to their decision making for themselves. If you made mistakes, you have been learning from them. Keep doing what you are doing if not better.
Hey there Daniel, I've been watching your videos the past 3 years (Started at 15-16, im 19 now) and I can't tell how much you've helped me. I'm from Argentina and fitness info in spanish isn't as good so I came across your channel. Now I'm 3 years in, progress is crazy, huge upper body gains, legs a lot behind because of injuries and lack of discipline but still better than 3 years ago. Your lessons about the basics have really stayed with me and made it simpler. I remembered when I didn't knew anything about training so I helped 2 friends getting started 1 year ago. I have a question for you, do you see a lot of dogo aregentios in Argentina? Am from India and the native dog breeds are rarely kept as pets.Most of them live on the streets
I was skinny guy and I could not go beyond certain weight in lifting, so my lesson and big mistake, was that I didn't eating enough. After I started to eat more, I gone through the lifting weight limit I had for half of year. Second lesson I learned was that I was cheating all the time. I had to lower weight slow down movement to gain more muscle and more strength.
The food and fitness industry promote high levels of protein, which in the long term is detrimental to health, while the high consumption of fruits, which contain amino acids, the building blocks the body uses to make protein will both maintain homeostasis and longevity while repairing muscles to grow bigger.
My thoughts. Helps to have motivation, or to discard everything and get less anxiety. After all, in 100 years, not so much will really remember us. In 10 000 years, less more. In 1 million years, no-one.
So many good tips! I love your humble perspective. Btw, great job on your body by rings program! I did it a year ago and saw the greatest gains ever from it and it was so much fun. I ended up switching to my own hybrid routine mostly because tracking progress with calisthenics movements is really hard compared to weights but I still do a full ring workout from time to time because it's just so fun!
Learn to blur the lines between skills work, mobility, strength training, rehab and prehab. For example, think of rotator cuff rehab as part of your strength training, and deadlifting as a way to fix your medial epicondylitis. This kind of programming will make stretching second nature, and it will prevent injury. It will also open your mind.
I followed FitnessFAQS years ago because I know there is no BS on what Daniel is talking about. In this modern age of fitness industry there are a lot of misinformation. Better stick to the ones who are putting the work for a long time.

use a Deload week after 3 weeks of hard training incorporate a deload week. You will not loose muscle or strength - instead you will return fresh and even stronger.
Do y’all workout before or after work/school? I wanna shift to the morning, but I find that I quite like the feeling of destress with exercise after a workday.
The best things I've learnt are the best routine isn't the most optimal one, it's the one you stick to and you need to set your goals and train based on your own body, not what other people say. Some people will look like rugby players and some will look like tennis players, and that's ok.
Best advice I can give is just do something and don't overdo it. Even if you only do pushups and pull ups your not going to build muscular imbalances over a few weeks while you work it out, I love TH-cam but lack of knowledge becomes an excuse at a certain point.

Paralysis analysis is my no. 1 obstacle. So much info, different types of workouts, supplements etc etc. I just shut down and keep sitting on my couch

When I was 30 I also thought warmups were overrated, now that I am 65 I realize that everything but the warmup is overrated.

Do y’all workout before or after work/school? I wanna shift to the morning, but I find that I quite like the feeling of destress with exercise after a workday.
The best things I've learnt are the best routine isn't the most optimal one, it's the one you stick to and you need to set your goals and train based on your own body, not what other people say. Some people will look like rugby players and some will look like tennis players, and that's ok.

Best advice I can give is just do something and don't overdo it.
Even if you only do pushups and pull ups your not going to build muscular imbalances over a few weeks while you work it out, I love TH-cam but lack of knowledge becomes an excuse at a certain point.

1-angst: a feeling of deep anxiety or dread, typically an unfocused one about the human condition or the state of the world in general.
2-charlatan: a person falsely claiming to have a special knowledge or skill.
3-majoring in minors: putting undue attention on small things that don’t make a real difference, while neglecting to pay attention to the larger actions that make a huge difference.
