The shakiness is nerves, and from that, shallow breathing (breathlessness) which is the last thing a singer needs. As he got over his nerves, the fuller voice came back.
That recovery was so good it makes me think the faltering start was actually staged. Either way he nailed the ending, it even sounded like there was a bit of an extra harmonic in his voice when he hit the last note on "surrender" at 1:27, as if he was singing both a high note and a low note at the same time, maybe its just me though.
My band (Flash Fire) plays shows with his (Lost Woods) pretty regularly and he has hands down the most amazing voice I've heard on the Adelaide scene yet. If only he could have sung one of his originals!!! But still amazing. GO PETER!
"Sweet Disposition" Sweet disposition Never too soon Oh, reckless abandon Like no one's watching you A moment, a love a dream, a laugh A kiss, a cry Our rights, our wrongs A moment, a love a dream, a laugh A moment, a love a dream, a laugh So stay there 'Cause I'll be coming over While our blood's still young It's so young, it runs Won't stop 'til it's over Won't stop to surrender Songs of desperation I played them for you A moment, a love a dream, a laugh A kiss, a cry Our rights, our wrongs A moment, a love a dream, a laugh A moment, a love a dream, a laugh Stay there 'Cause I'll be coming over While our blood's still young It's so young, it runs Won't stop 'til it's over Won't stop to surrender Won't stop 'til it's over Won't stop 'til it's over Won't stop 'til it's over Won't stop to surrender [repeating over the next verse 'til the end:] A moment, a love a dream, a laugh A kiss, a cry Our rights, our wrongs A moment, a love a dream, a laugh A moment, a love a dream, a laugh Won't stop 'til it's over Won't stop 'til it's over Won't stop 'til it's over Won't stop to surrender
Denise Martin I saw a great cover of this but no one really tries to hit those chords like the Temper Trap original...except this guy! Props for giving it a real go, that was more amazing than most.
Do people here realize how impossible to sing this song tune is to begin with ? Of course it was pitchy, it's a super high pitched, extremely demanding for your vocal chords tune. Fact is, he took a risk and managed to rebound and to snatch up the coach he badly wanted. Team Ricky = Full Of WIN
TeamRicky i love his smile lol so cute and i can't wait to see him on the battle rounds 0:03 = this guy has a horrible voice 1:00 = I regret my decision
This is a hard song to sing. He can probably sing it effortlessly behind closed doors or on that car ride to work but that stage can make make you sound like a kid going through puberty lol.
+hana marie Yeah but they sound a lot better. There's a difference between a good singer and someone who stands out from the crowd. The Voice contestants are hugely overrated.
Brilliant recovery
yeah, he recovered when he got past the part where he had to sing.
The fact that it starts from not so good and then it gets better every second and then finishes perfect makes it even more appealing.
Check this out th-cam.com/video/Di14md68p5k/w-d-xo.html
no one could sing the beginning part perfectly..
no one but the vocalist itself..
Have you seen some live performances? Not even Dougie can do it. Great recovery tho
Not even Dougie can sing the part perfectly
That comeback was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised and kind of relieved. It would be a shame to ruin such a great song.
+ZeroG151 A large part of what makes the song so great is the intro IMO, and he kinda buggered it up hard.
Super hard song to sing

How in the hell did he recover from that?! That's incredible... Absolutely Amazing.
+Commando Ben (Hamsalad123) That's what I thought!! This song is extremely difficult to sing and I thought he did an astounding job at the chorus
It started settling in right at 0:18, amazing recovery and voice!
His recovery! Really wasn't expecting that. Great voice! (:
That fraction of a second in between 0:17 when he first sang the 2nd bar and 0:18 is right where he found his range and just turned it around.
The shakiness is nerves, and from that, shallow breathing (breathlessness) which is the last thing a singer needs. As he got over his nerves, the fuller voice came back.
This dudes vibrato is absolutely insane. I loooove it.
That recover is honestly mind blowing. He ended amazingly.
I ACTUALLY LIKED THE BEGINNING!
Me too-it was human.
That recovery was so good it makes me think the faltering start was actually staged. Either way he nailed the ending, it even sounded like there was a bit of an extra harmonic in his voice when he hit the last note on "surrender" at 1:27, as if he was singing both a high note and a low note at the same time, maybe its just me though.
he just need to practice more breathing technique, cause you see him turn red to that last note cause he don't know the breathing technique....
Fontgod yes yes yess thats wjat i thought and its so amazinggg
Ricky martin is so nice...what a gentleman!
His recovery was so good, I wish he'd gone further in the competition than he did
and he was opening and closing his eyes, following the beat of the song. he's so hilarious!
Your spectacular mate i love that song and your remind me of it.thanks a lot
TeamRicky i love his smile lol so cute and i can't wait to see him on the battle rounds
My band (Flash Fire) plays shows with his (Lost Woods) pretty regularly and he has hands down the most amazing voice I've heard on the Adelaide scene yet. If only he could have sung one of his originals!!! But still amazing. GO PETER!

Won't stop 'til it's over
Won't stop 'til it's over
Won't stop 'til it's over
Won't stop to surrender

cute and such a good voice
So hard to sing this song, and the recovery was amazing

omg... amazing!! bad start for about 3 seconds but then it's like he leveled up 9000000 times loveee it
The start wasn't the best but he totally rocked the chorus! Way to pick himself up.
You remind me that song and you nailed it mate.
Finally a good one!
Ahhhhhhhhhh GOD ! I'm in LOVE with his voice. So touching '(
Brilliant recovery, love him... love his voice....... huge fan of the show from the UK. Brit Girl
falsetto works when u are completely free, this kid definitely brought it back, super fuking couragous.
I like temper trap so much, this song isn't easy

that beginning was really rocky but the chorus was really strong
BAD START.....THEN A BRILLIANT FINISH!
He doesn't look like he's 30, he looks like he's 17.
Check this out th-cam.com/video/Di14md68p5k/w-d-xo.html
He's actually 40 by Asian standards
I wish there was a studio version of this song
His laugh tho 😩💜💉
bad start but he finished the song really good...
U2 songs by Peter should be gr8, powerfull voice :)
Terrible at the start
Yeah poor guy, you could tell he was super nervous. Good on him for bouncing back instead of giving up
Alexei Winters Umm...no?
It was rough in the beginning but the rest was amazing!!
Denise Martin I saw a great cover of this but no one really tries to hit those chords like the Temper Trap original...except this guy! Props for giving it a real go, that was more amazing than most.

that beginning was really rocky but the chorus was really strong
He doesn't look like he's 30, he looks like he's 17.
Man, what a save!
He doesn't look like he's 30, he looks like he's 17.
How in the hell did he recover from that?! That's incredible... Absolutely Amazing.
So unique
Love the voice quality. I see star!
He did the song justice, i feel like it was shaky on purpose a little to build drama.
Started really bad, but saved his perform at 0:56
He doesn't look like he's 30, he looks like he's 17.
Super hard song to sing
It's not always about throwing someone in the knee, great recovery
Am I weird that I liked the beginning? Reminded me of Sigur Ros
A little shaky at the start, but as soon as he opened up his voice exploded! Tone is also really precise on the high notes! Well done!
OKAAAAAYYYY HI PETER FROM ADELAIDE
The song's chorus helped him
Do people here realize how impossible to sing this song tune is to begin with ? Of course it was pitchy, it's a super high pitched, extremely demanding for your vocal chords tune. Fact is, he took a risk and managed to rebound and to snatch up the coach he badly wanted. Team Ricky = Full Of WIN
nervous at beginning but it is a cruel song to pull off - the lead singer in Temper Trap has got such a unique voice.
Peter White is what I would have named my rabbit...
the song save him soul of the song
the nerves got the best of him
he reminds me of amazingphil?????
both lil cuties
dat save
fail start
Will.I.Am's expression at the start HAHA
that recovery though
he saved his as so quick
TeamRicky i love his smile lol so cute and i can't wait to see him on the battle rounds
0:03 = this guy has a horrible voice
1:00 = I regret my decision
A sleeper, since the post~"recovery" voice is as good as anyone, if he gets the right song choices from his mentor.
that intro tho lmfaooo
Seriously, why so many likes?
Because he's an awesome singer!!
Because those people don't think like you. Or they aren't as negative like you.
I thought the same thing the cover is horrible
Moozy Mathers because of the recovery
because people are fucking simps. This guy sang like shit
I'm 30 years old..... Everyone was like.... No i thought you were 25!??😳
This is a hard song to sing. He can probably sing it effortlessly behind closed doors or on that car ride to work but that stage can make make you sound like a kid going through puberty lol.
I don't really understand why they were talking about 'the first 30 seconds' being bad. The first couple of notes were, but then it was amazing!
lagu yang susah.. good job peter
OMG
Who said "Such a hard song to sing isn't it"? I can't seem to remember his name
the best cover of this song is when bella ferraro sang it. just amazing
Listen to Nick Celino do this song and have an eargasm.
you have a link to it?
Well i reached for the shotgun but by the time i loaded it... all was great.
not bad👍👍
Omg. His voice reminds of Jonsi from Sigur Ros.
Peter, if you see this, please come back next year and please give us your youtube account name, if you have one, so we can follow you. :)

+skullleader78 joel madden from the band good charlotte
+deevs yoëlla thanks it bugged me for the longest time
Bahahahaha
The chorus saved him! good choice, Ricky will take care of his issues of anxeity before stage
this is very hard to sing, even for the original singer
he messed up the lyrics but otherwise his finish was strong. ever listen to some of "the greats" live? not everyone sounds like their albums do! :)
+hana marie Yeah but they sound a lot better. There's a difference between a good singer and someone who stands out from the crowd. The Voice contestants are hugely overrated.
I'm really sorry, but I don't understand why they turned..
At the start I didn't like it and at the end I love it
better than the original (my opinion)
+Dan Cantwell i love cancer!!!!
+Dan Cantwell not that bad but the temper trap singer just sounds heavenly.
you're off your meds
(my opinion)
+Dan Cantwell
