The hotel is really impressive i went to Milano and i stayed at principe di savoia i like it but honestly i loved the four seasons after watching this video
They're both luxurious hotels. Still...you won't regret it in case you'll want to switch next time - especially if you , like me, prefer a lighter/cheerful vibe.

The hotel looks beautiful. The Four Seasons Milan has been around since the 1990s but has kept its age really well, from your filming. Your night shots of Milan made the city look beautiful. I have stayed in Milan at the Park Hyatt, which is very close to the Galleria shopping centre you were in.
I also had stayed at the Park Hyatt in 2019 (See my video "Milan Must-see Park Hyatt...) I liked the location a lot for the same reason. Glad you liked my night shots, true that Milan can be quite photogenic. Good to see you :)

There were cute girls there too haha... but the cute boys were very nice/polite. They swerved around instead of blocking my filming. So I said thanks... turning my camera to smile at them... sweet that they even gave me thumps up! Little incidents like this is what makes my travels memorable - you know the warm and fuzzy feelings we all appreciate. Especially when we're far away from home :)

Yes, such amazing guitar solo... that song gave me the goosebumps literally stopped me in my tract as I entered the plaza that night. So I hung around filming, hoping it would never end. Until then I knew the band, just not the song. Now I'm hooked 😊
Love the video (and the four seasons!) The “pizza pie” is called panzerotti, the next time you’re in milan go to “panzerotti Luini” it’s a bakery and they specialise in them. (It’s right behind the galleria)
Another great video presentation that’s both interesting and helpful! By the way, you should always include a shot of yourself in all your films - like Alfred Hitchcock used to do! I do just have one question, how do you manage to always swing a complimentary room upgrade. I’ve stayed in several of the hotels that you’ve reviewed and this has never happened for me, even when I asked nicely!

In general, if you are a repeat guest, travel in low season, and stay during week days, the hotel is more likely to offer you a complimentary upgrade. Wishing you a bit of luck, too :)
Hi Alexis, OK, thanks for the great advice, I’ll try that next time. By the way, the next time you visit Milan, you should extend your European trip by a few days and travel north to Lugano, which is just over the Italian/Swiss border. It’s only about an hour’s drive away from Milano.There’s a hotel there called Villa Castagnola, which was originally the residence of a Russian Count. It’s situated right on the shores of Lake Lugano and has a Michelin starred restaurant. The views over the lake are stunning. I think this would be ideal location for one of your super video presentations. Ciao, Gary
The Italianos usually do a better job on blending old and new but I wasn't impressed by the property. The room furnishings were not the newest (Four Season standards?) and the coffered ceilings in the lobby just didnt seem to work for me. In Italy, for me, less is more but they seemed to have missed that here. If you want a stunning blend of old and new, you must go to Zurich and stay at the Hotel Widder. Perhaps a spring trip, as that's when the city comes to life after a lackluster and grey winter. You'll love the Widder.
Hi there! Thanks for the suggestion, will look up Hotel Wilder if work ever finds me in Zurich. The hotel isn't a stunning Four Seasons property a la George V, that I agree with you. I also did not appreciate the lack of ambience at the veranda, but I liked the lobby/its ceilings/room and board (the Suite/its bathrooms/flowers/food) And they played good music in the lobby! Room furnishings were not the newest I admit but of good quality as they're quite cushy. All in all the good clearly outweigh the bad and I intend to return, actually. Good to see you!

When I was at school in Switzerland in early 2000's, we had been hearing a lot about this property. Everyone wanted to go and see it. But I stayed true to the Cote d'Azur, instead going to the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat and to Le Chevre d'Or in Menton - also a stunning place if you haven't been. But top two in Zurich - the Widder and the Baur au Lac.....the Baur au Lac is very traditional, but the Widder is just stunning when you see what they did, blending old and new, and their restaurant and bar. Beautiful rooms. You'll love the shopping too on the Bahnhofstrasse. Can't wait for the next video. Happy 2022!!!

I simply wouldn't want to catch anything while being that far away from home -- though making a video about getting stuck in Paris alwhile infected would be something different for you all to watch haha. @@alexisluxurytravels1 Paris wouldnt be such a bad place to be stuck. At least some great restaurants around who "might" do delivery. Hahaha....I bet not. If that were to happen to me over there, I'd head out towards Normandy, Burgundy or Champagne - less humanity around and more agriculture, open space of great cheese and food, although, the best food in France does come from Lyon. But if you want a little bit of great French food in the bay area, head over to Sausalito, to a restaurant along the waterfront called Le Garage.......hands down the best moules for miles!!! French kitchen and French service, but not formal. Give it a try.

I do just have one question, how do you manage to always swing a complimentary room upgrade. I’ve stayed in several of the hotels that you’ve reviewed and this has never happened for me, even when I asked nicely!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Welcome to my channel. Watch my videos again you'll see I don't always get room upgrade. In general, if you are a repeat guest, travel in low season, and stay during week days, the hotel is more likely to offer you a complimentary upgrade. Wishing you a bit of luck, too :)

By the way, the next time you visit Milan, you should extend your European trip by a few days and travel north to Lugano, which is just over the Italian/Swiss border. It’s only about an hour’s drive away from Milano.There’s a hotel there called Villa Castagnola, which was originally the residence of a Russian Count. It’s situated right on the shores of Lake Lugano and has a Michelin starred restaurant. The views over the lake are stunning. I think this would be ideal location for one of your super video presentations.

The Italianos usually do a better job on blending old and new but I wasn't impressed by the property. The room furnishings were not the newest (Four Season standards?) and the coffered ceilings in the lobby just didnt seem to work for me. In Italy, for me, less is more but they seemed to have missed that here. If you want a stunning blend of old and new, you must go to Zurich and stay at the Hotel Widder. Perhaps a spring trip, as that's when the city comes to life after a lackluster and grey winter. You'll love the Widder.
Hi there! Thanks for the suggestion, will look up Hotel Wilder if work ever finds me in Zurich. The hotel isn't a stunning Four Seasons property a la George V, that I agree with you. I also did not appreciate the lack of ambience at the veranda, but I liked the lobby/its ceilings/room and board (the Suite/its bathrooms/flowers/food) And they played good music in the lobby! Room furnishings were not the newest I admit but of good quality as they're quite cushy. All in all the good clearly outweigh the bad and I intend to return, actually. Good to see you!
@@alexisluxurytravels1 Nice to see you taking us on your travels again. I always enjoy the breakfast and shot of the news paper. When I was at school in Switzerland in early 2000's, we had been hearing a lot about this property. Everyone wanted to go and see it. But I stayed true to the Cote d'Azur, instead going to the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat and to Le Chevre d'Or in Menton - also a stunning place if you haven't been. But top two in Zurich - the Widder and the Baur au Lac.....the Baur au Lac is very traditional, but the Widder is just stunning when you see what they did, blending old and new, and their restaurant and bar. Beautiful rooms. You'll love the shopping too on the Bahnhofstrasse. Can't wait for the next video. Happy 2022!!!

I simply wouldn't want to catch anything while being that far away from home -- though making a video about getting stuck in Paris alwhile infected would be something different for you all to watch haha. @@alexisluxurytravels1 Paris wouldnt be such a bad place to be stuck. At least some great restaurants around who "might" do delivery. Hahaha....I bet not. If that were to happen to me over there, I'd head out towards Normandy, Burgundy or Champagne - less humanity around and more agriculture, open space of great cheese and food, although, the best food in France does come from Lyon. But if you want a little bit of great French food in the bay area, head over to Sausalito, to a restaurant along the waterfront called Le Garage.......hands down the best moules for miles!!! French kitchen and French service, but not formal. Give it a try.
Please, someday show the Lartisien, Firenze’s Four Seasons. One of the buildings was an antique palace.
