ahahahahah when u said "hey pay attention" I was checking some pictures I took from a shoot and then I saw the gun. I legit put the camera down quick! lmao
Everything I see about Element gets me more amazed... This is actually stunning, It's a revolution for 3D modeling and animation, and this is surely going to deeply change AE. It's going to change cinema.
I forsee monetary spendings in my near future! This is an amazing plug-in and it finally, FINALLY gives me the ability to add real 3D objects into After Effects - goodbye clumsy 3Dmax -> AE workflow :D
This is the Best thing i have ever seen for After Effects... Kudos Andrew Kramer you have made Justice taken After Effects 3D experience to new and very high level..
laughed so hard at the sound effects at 12:25....I use to do the same while trying to explain a VFX animation "swoosh" .....seriously guys, this plugin looks AWESOME. Great work. Counting the days!
Damn... seeing the previews you posted throughout the development of this plugin, I expected this to be one of the most epic plugins ever... watching this video now, my jaw is dropped. This is the greatest AE plugin of all time. I seriously believe it will drastically change the video production industry.
now this is quite impressive! i'm a 3d-artist since over 15 years back (mainly Lightwave) and i've gotta say this is a nice step towards a simple workflow for ceratain effects, really looking forward to seeing more! :)
Goddamit all I can say it this plugin is TOO DAMN GOOD. As someone who has been using 3ds max with AE this is a must ! Andrew Kramer... you are the VFX GOD. Even using a Core 2 Quad 2.33 with 4GB RAM and an NVIDIA GT 240 1GB RAM I'm rendering a scene with over 7k particles, each being a model with over 30k faces (so a total of over 262m faces!) with DOF, AO and motion blur I'm still getting less than 4 secs per frame! And it hasn't crashed ONCE! Best purchase I ever made.
Dear Mr Andrew Kramer i would of never got into after effects if it wasn't for your website. The stuff you are capable just blows my mind. It's gonna be hard to top this element plugin :) keep up the awesome work
Hi there, Element is not meant to replace your 3D program but bridge it's capabilities. Now I can tell you Shadows and many other features are planned for V2 that will be very interesting, remember this is Version 1, imagine what we have in V2! As far as "harsh lighting" or aliasing, this is no longer an issue with the upcoming update that will be out next week featuring new Anti-Aliasing sampling! Up to 8X Super-Sampling, check out our blog for more information!
I was watching this when it released, about 1am local time.. and I was tired. Just as I was dozing off he said that, and it really worked, I listened up after that and that is a good thing, because this product is simply amazing! :D
In the video he clearly says that he separated the propellers in to different groups ,so they could be animated without effecting the whole Helicopter . Same thing for the gun , it is already broking into pieces which allows you to animate any part .
When you chose Unified Camera Tool, it acts differently depending on what you hold during moving mouse. If I'm not mistaken, left mouse is then normal orbit around, propably pressing middle mouse button has then effect of zoom. I really can't tell you right now, cause most time it's intuitive and at some point you don't have to think how to do it, cause you just do it. :)
Just bought it, works great! Lots of stuff can be created quickly w/o a million keyframes. Looking forward to coming up w/ some cool looks for clients!
Oh. My. God. I'm going to be in sooooooo much trouble when I tell my wife that I GOTTA have this plug in! The world of video production is about to undergo a DRASTIC change and the gap between "professional" and "independent" is about to get a little smaller....thank you Andrew.
You have a point about people who think this will replace 3ds max and I don't use Nuke yet but I can imagine it's better. I guess my point is that this plugin combined with 3D packages can do wonders in light speed! I'm finishing a scene now with over 262 MILLION faces and at full 1080p the frames render at about 4 secs per frame... with DOF, motion blur and AO! My specs: 4 GB RAM Core 2 Quad 2.33 NVIDIA GT 240 1GB RAM, a PC I've been using since 2009 and it hasn't yet crashed once with Element!
You're not alone sweetheart! I'm a complete chaos on this thing! I can't barely create a kinetic typography on AAE this thing is so damn complicated, but I'm sure we'll get the hang of this soon.
Some interesting discussions going on here. I use AE professionally and have done for the last 13+ years. I'm using Element in a job right now and love it. I've worked with and for lots of High end places and they all list nuke, smoke, flame, maya ect but the truth is they use what ever gets the job done. Go and learn Nuke and more power to you. Just remember as with any craft its not the tools that make great images its the operator.
Great introduction, thank you! I've seen one or two tutorials before but they lacked the general overview of what actualy is the plugin and I was very confused with all the Groups 1-5 visible in the Effect Controls Panel.
I'm really not an expert but I think Element 3d is an easier way of animating 3d object within AE. With Element you can make an object in C4D then save it and open it in AE (with Element of course) then make adjustments ie add materials, textures, reflections ect but I'm pretty sure you can't model in Element. Hopefully that made sense :)
GSG's "Transform" plug-in in C4D owned by VC's "Element 3D" in AE oO. Unbelievable... Element 3D, actually, does exactly what I expected from "Transform"... In other words.. JESUS, MAN :D
Question; when I set up the animation to go from group one to group two the particles just shrink into nothing and disappear, why might that be, group two is set almost the exact same as group 1, I was trying to replicate the effect you did in this video with the sphere made of cubes. Fantastic product by the way, love it!!!
VERY impressive. I know it doesn't do dynamics, but it's a shame they couldn't have built gravity into it, or at least faked the impression; it would add a whole lot more to it.
I have an issue with rotating 3D objects using the World Transform for Element 3D v2. Let's say I wanted to make an object spin like a penny. Rather than spinning on a fixed position like it would realistically, the object spins while at the same time moves around the composition like a train going in a circle. Anyone know a fix? I'm guessing it's something to do with the anchor point but each time I try a different anchor point in the options inside E3D, nothing changes. Would appreciate the help, thanks!
Andrew, I see a very nice background behind the watch between 12:07 to 16:18 on your tut timeline. Is that background coming over from the Scene Setup of Element?
I really hope to master that plug-in so much possibilities!
yes I see so many possibilities
crazy to see where you started! now starting your own course!
Ignace you!!😆😆
Man it is soo amazing to see u here🙂
You had 11 years time now. Did you master element 3-D? You must be a big star on the Hollywood by now.
The manly and rugged, yet dulcet and melodious tones of Andrew Kramer narrating are always a precursor to awesome. Now more so than ever.
I was totally texting someone when you were all like "hey! pay attention" freaked me out for a second.
i was distracted to wtf
ahahahahah when u said "hey pay attention" I was checking some pictures I took from a shoot and then I saw the gun. I legit put the camera down quick! lmao
Everything I see about Element gets me more amazed... This is actually stunning, It's a revolution for 3D modeling and animation, and this is surely going to deeply change AE. It's going to change cinema.
I'm new and want to learn VFX, could u tell me what software is this.?
I forsee monetary spendings in my near future! This is an amazing plug-in and it finally, FINALLY gives me the ability to add real 3D objects into After Effects - goodbye clumsy 3Dmax -> AE workflow :D
Heyyy From where to where 2021
Element is amazing! I just purchased it a few weeks ago and love watching your videos and learning everything that element has to offer.
This is the Best thing i have ever seen for After Effects... Kudos Andrew Kramer you have made Justice taken After Effects 3D experience to new and very high level..
You are a cult hero - "pay attention" *points gun - effing genius
laughed so hard at the sound effects at 12:25....I use to do the same while trying to explain a VFX animation "swoosh" .....seriously guys, this plugin looks AWESOME. Great work. Counting the days!
I still cannot believe this is a plugin!! Andrew really is the Maker of A.E
Damn... seeing the previews you posted throughout the development of this plugin, I expected this to be one of the most epic plugins ever... watching this video now, my jaw is dropped. This is the greatest AE plugin of all time. I seriously believe it will drastically change the video production industry.
When u are realised that this is the plug-in that revolutionized after effects and it was used for star wars
WAIT WHAAAA
This will revolutionize motion graphics and animation around the entire world. Great work!
WOW!! This video just got better and better! Loved the watch and the last demonstration !
You have NO IDEA of how much I love you right now for this tutorial
now this is quite impressive! i'm a 3d-artist since over 15 years back (mainly Lightwave) and i've gotta say this is a nice step towards a simple workflow for ceratain effects, really looking forward to seeing more! :)
You still editing?
I cant believe how amazing this is.
Even 8 years on this is still valid and helpful!
@@guymanperson1 in my opinion, yes. Pair it up with Cinema 4D and you have 0 limits on what you can do on a 3D workspace!
Andrew, how have you not yet been awarded a Nobel Prize???
Goddamit all I can say it this plugin is TOO DAMN GOOD. As someone who has been using 3ds max with AE this is a must ! Andrew Kramer... you are the VFX GOD. This is really brilliant, man you are genius
This is a game changer for the low budget TH-camr!
FINALY, I DONT THINK THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE OUT THERE LIKE THIS.
That intro music sold the video!
+ I love that you are focusing on 3D, gonna be worth alot to me :)!
I think I just crapped myself.
Seriously, this will change my workflow.
EXCELLENT JOB.
Dear Mr Andrew Kramer i would of never got into after effects if it wasn't for your website. The stuff you are capable just blows my mind. It's gonna be hard to top this element plugin :) keep up the awesome work
The world has change!!! Andrew Kramer has rules the After Effects!!!!
I call revolution on that one. I'm literally in awe

and who knows what VC is going to create in the future ... maybe you won't be needing 3D programs after all
Wow! This is great! Congratulations on a such a great plug-in!
Just watched the entire video and it was extremely informative. Awesome plugin
Element is not only a plug-in, it's a revolution.
I actually spaced out a bit when before he said "hey hey pay attention". Lol you got me there Andrew. 😂
Andrew you guys just messed with my Kung Fu i cant wait for this release i being waiting for this.......a A TRUE GIFT......
Andrewwwwww why do you always take things to a new levelllll??????????????????????
When you chose Unified Camera Tool, it acts differently depending on what you hold during moving mouse. Andrew this looks like a pretty amazing product. Could give people lots of ideas. Good work!
This plugin is truely amazing. Nice job VC.
I can't believe this software exists. And it's a plugin!
Andrew = Mr. Awesome.
Just bought it, works great! Lots of stuff can be created quickly w/o a million keyframes. Looking forward to coming up w/ some cool looks for clients!
this is absolutely revolutionary. well done!

THANK YOU VIDEOCOPILOT!
Up in the toolbar there is a camera icon. Click and hold and that reveals some options. You want the Track X Camera Tool!
Andrew... thank you :) You and videocopilot team rocks!
I fucking love you... Fucking LOVE YOU!!! HEY! HEY! HEY!..... Love you!!!!!
Bitch!
That would be so cool if in the future you could import your own animations from 3ds max or other programs!
Oh god I need this NOW.
Awesome Andrew!! Respect.. @15:58 "We are only using 4 keyframes..." Only Andrew can place only 4 keyframes and achieve righteousness!!
Andrew, your product is awesome! Thank You!

GSG's "Transform" plug-in in C4D owned by VC's "Element 3D" in AE oO. Unbelievable... Element 3D, actually, does exactly what I expected from "Transform"...
In other words.. JESUS, MAN :D
😀 10 years old video and still that 4:50 sec "pay attention " thing is so lit... 😀😀😀😀😀😀
you have to apply the materials and UV maps - its in the settings when you import the model, check Andrews tutorials on his website

What do you mean? That's the sound we all make when we pray...isn't it?
VERY impressive.
I know it doesn't do dynamics, but it's a shame they couldn't have built gravity into it, or at least faked the impression; it would add a whole lot more to it.

Video copilot is the best
I have an issue with rotating 3D objects using the World Transform for Element 3D v2. Let's say I wanted to make an object spin like a penny. which kind of tutorials have u seen? There's a lot of differences between AE n Vegas, videocopilot makes this clear. No doubt.
mother of after effects
i really cant wait for this plugin!
Andrew, I see a very nice background behind the watch between 12:07 to 16:18 on your tut timeline. Is that background coming over from the Scene Setup of Element?
