You have to give the man credit as he can play the piece from scratch. Oh he may played it in the past but being able to just sit down and playit with his own arrangement is a true revelation of his genus.
The young girl did very well, I understand how she feels, when I first played on the public piano in St pancras station, I was nervous, but fair play to her well done, and with respect love the stylish leather jacket she was wearing, and we'll done Brendan for giving the girl a bit of confidence 👍

she's in focus mode, trying hard. not listening, most importantly. but dr. k tried to help her listen, to hear the rhytm, so that she can then project it into the world. it might sound a bit arcane, but that's just a feature of my description. i bet there're some physiological reasons for why listening calms your anxiety. i know the psychological / spiritual rationale: paying attention means we see reality, instead of just thinking about it. it is in thoughts that anxiety lives, as a stressful picture of reality. :)

I had a horrible music teacher in High School. She demanded perfection. And to this day when I know that I screwed up, I stop playing. I saw the look in this young ladies eyes, and she stopped faster than Race Horse, wanting a pee break. My father in law did his damn-est to tell me to keep on playing and don’t stop. I don’t know where to begin on the keyboard 🎹. But on my snare drum I am fighting this old habit from forty years ago. When I know that I broke my rhythm, I smile acknowledging my error in front of others and I keep playing on.
