I got to see Dry Cleaning play Manchester Psych Fest, and this song was on their set-list. They did not disappoint. Fantastic band, all lovely people. Wish them all the best.
Kind of an obscure reference here, but if you like this, check out Judy Nylon’s Pal Judy album from 1982. Most/all of it is posted here on TH-cam. It’s got a similar spoken word backed with post punk electronic music thing going. Different than the wholly original and awesome Dry Cleaning but with a similar vibe you might like.
Just seen this guys last night support Sleaford Mods in Cardiff, holy shit they did not disappoint, honestly best support I’ve ever seen, this tune was my favourite
The house is just twelve years old Soft landscaping in the garden An electrician stuck his finger in the plug hole And shouted "Yabba" Her hippo Every day he's a dick Strong one, no-one The man above, a name, a word I get upset in the heat I'm smiling constantly And people constantly step on me His shadow looms around A feeling of bees' legs on my face Safe inside your secret love Let's run Anyway, mystical Shakespeare shoes A trapped person screaming The last thing I looked at in this hand mirror Was a human asshole Well, Helen's situation Has really put all that in the shade now There he goes, he doesn't care Mostly angry, scrappy songs And where does that romantic jealousy come from Te amo Manuel Married then Her hippo Every day he's a dick Strong one, great one The man above, a name, a word I'm smiling constantly And people constantly step on me I'd like to run away with you on a plane But, don't bring those loafers That silly woman has done a too straight fringe Her baby's appearance More espresso, less depresso Solutions for damp since 1971 But I can rebuild I'm a devious snake And I keep it in my wig room Well, well, well, well Well, well, well And inside the gate There's a tiny little area and it's round Everything's going great so far Got my shorts on in preparation for the hot These idiots in trousers, they don't know what they're doing Feel like I'm going to send you twenty texts Let me know when you're inside the plane I'm smiling constantly And people constantly step on me
The self control of the singer is fascinating, while everybody is so damn emotional now in these days. That doesn' t mean she is lame, obviously she has tremendous energy, that is really great.
Listen to the ghost song by the doors . He’s reading poetry , this reminded me instantly of this moment . Or Kim from sonic youth , i pictured a cool blonde babe with wayfarers smoking a cigarette riding with her top down. PUNK aF .
@@thomasandrei3810 Yeah basically what Carlos said about ghost song. Sometimes he'd just recite some random poems instead of sining the actual song lyrics, to the dismay of the crowd.
This album gets advertised on most posters and stuff whenever am on my way like that tends to bother me. And I got it on recommended(before clicking I felt like I wanted to hate it) but it s so good there is nothing i can hate abt it lol
This lot at this moment ahead of the game except maybe DO NOTHING. INTONED, EVERYDAY and obscure in plain sight. MES. See you mate yeah see you etc. Hooked at a chance car hearing 'at least I found a Gym near work', V Great live.. as well
I love all their songs but this one affects me most. The words and the music here are so powerful it's about how crap life can be, about liberation and escapism, it gives me shivers and makes me want to run away with this band with well chosen footwear 🤣
Of were talking about the same guy it was a TH-cam video asking UC Berkley student's what there listening to the guy had a lot of swag & charisma + looked very good & fashionable
I love how they mix the bass so well and so consistently
Its a well worn vintage fender from what I can see, it just sounds great because they were great
The bass is soooo clean on the whole record
@@ballparkmusic67 Sounds good live too, doesn't seem to use any pedals that I can see
Favourite song from the album. Mysterious, melodic, haunting, beautiful.
I got to see Dry Cleaning play Manchester Psych Fest, and this song was on their set-list. They did not disappoint. Fantastic band, all lovely people. Wish them all the best.

Album of the year for me, and fave song too. DAT VOICE DOE (AND THEM GUITARS UNDERNEAF)

Best song on the album, hopefully this is their next single!
Incredible atmospheric riffs.
I have fallen back in love with music.
Absolute punk heaven.
My favorite song from this album..very impressed with Dry Cleaning. One of my favorite bands now. ❤
Nico, Anne Clark and now Ms. Florence Shaw. The new trinity of women chanting. I love all three. Amazing what facets this music still gives us.
i discovered this today. ive listened to it several times lol got me in the mood for sonic youth, after i check out more of this band of course.
excellent guitar playing. fave track. haunts me in my sleep
Just seen this guys last night support Sleaford Mods in Cardiff, holy shit they did not disappoint, honestly best support I’ve ever seen, this tune was my favourite
"I'm a devious snake, I keep it in my wig room
Well...
Well, well, well
Oh well, well"
The house is just twelve years old
Soft landscaping in the garden
An electrician stuck his finger in the plug hole
And shouted "Yabba"
Her hippo
Every day he's a dick
Strong one, no-one
The man above, a name, a word
I get upset in the heat
I'm smiling constantly
And people constantly step on me
His shadow looms around
A feeling of bees' legs on my face
Safe inside your secret love
Let's run
Anyway, mystical Shakespeare shoes
A trapped person screaming
The last thing I looked at in this hand mirror
Was a human asshole
Well, Helen's situation
Has really put all that in the shade now
There he goes, he doesn't care
Mostly angry, scrappy songs
And where does that romantic jealousy come from
Te amo Manuel
Married then
Her hippo
Every day he's a dick
Strong one, great one
The man above, a name, a word
I'm smiling constantly
And people constantly step on me
I'd like to run away with you on a plane
But, don't bring those loafers
That silly woman has done a too straight fringe
Her baby's appearance
More espresso, less depresso
Solutions for damp since 1971
But I can rebuild
I'm a devious snake
And I keep it in my wig room
Well, well, well, well
Well, well, well
And inside the gate
There's a tiny little area and it's round
Everything's going great so far
Got my shorts on in preparation for the hot
These idiots in trousers, they don't know what they're doing
Feel like I'm going to send you twenty texts
Let me know when you're inside the plane
I'm smiling constantly
And people constantly step on me
Saw them live last night. Better in person, absolutely.
This is so moving and powerful
The self control of the singer is fascinating, while everybody is so damn emotional now in these days. That doesn' t mean she is lame, obviously she has tremendous energy, that is really great.
this album and this song is why I love this band
"The last thing I looked at in this hand mirror was a human asshole"
Haven't we all been here?
This is so refreshing
The most quotable album since Mark E Smith???
they will be the next big thing!
Very unlikely. It is just too weird, in the best possible way but totally not mainstream.
Really interesting track. Currently on repeat. Trip Jacker approved!
F***ING excellent song.
Mi banda favorita del 2020, espero se animen a venir a Perú algún día
I feel like Jim Morrison would like this band a lot
Interesting. How come?

Fantastic song.
Idk what this genre is called but I love songs where the singer just speaks or tells a story
i think its called spoken word
Luuuuuuuuving my CD! 😎🎸❤
Brilliance

Kim Gordon likes this

Thanks TH-cam algorithm, never heard b4 - cool!. Like the Bunnymen/Chameleons gtr feel & kinda Marianne Faithful styled spoken word vox

Johnny Marr

Yabba
Reminds me of ‘Finisterre’ by Saint Etienne in a way…just more rocky.
Woooohhhh🤘🤘
more espresso, less depresso
Some of their lyrics remind me of Protomartyr.
for some weird reason this song reminds me of ''the haunting of bly manor''. the voice sounds very similar to hannah's voice
Played dry cleaning for my sister on the way to Florence’s exhibition. She cracked up at “dont touch my gaming mouse, you rat”.
Yabba!
