@@BagzAndPresident oh that's true.. any other examples? Because I can't think of any more. Maybe the High Caves song and the Treetops music are similar.. with tree tops being a bit faster of a tune.
This was seriously my favorite game as a kid. What sucked for me though was that the game disc got scratched and had no affect on the game... except for one level that I still had a couple gems left. My brother and I spent several hours on it and perfected all levels except for the one we couldn't get into, and anytime we saw the entrance to Gnasty's Loot it seemed like it was teasing us. Then, last year I borrowed a friend's playstation and played that part of the game again with the same disc, and for some reason we actually got in. It wasn't the cd afterall, it was just the console. I write this just to let everyone know that I have shredded and set fire to that damn console for f'ing with my childhood.
I have the same problem with Haunted Towers. That one level prevented my from getting 100%. But when I used my PS1 instead of PS2 it let me in the level I thought i was a god
1. The treasure belongs to Spyro. 2. A thief operating a plane. 3. A portrait of the ego Gnasty Gnorc. 4. Gnasty Gnorc has escaped and he's ticked against Spyro. This brings back so many memories. If only people could bring every game into one storage device on any system, than maybe we wouldn't suffer from nostalgia.
That last room with the purple gems blew my kid mind. I remember wondering how there could possibly be 1000 gems left until I saw that. Such a rewarding and awesome end to a game
I've always wanted to see what happened at this level because I was never able to get to this last level and I have beat this game up to Gnasty's loot about three times but never could get every single jewel/dragon/egg so thanks for uploading this! I really enjoyed going back and watching each level! This was my childhood 😁❤️
Winning this whole game was hard for me for years because some worlds would freaze when I started them but later they worked and reaching some of the dragons was hard too. The most hard one was in the Tree Tops and I agreed when Spyro said "Yeah well you could have picked an easier spot to get stuck!" When I won the whole game and Spyro said "Here we go again!" I thought "Oh no! Do we have to play it again?!" But then I saw it was just for fun.
Thank you so much! I was always stuck on 99% with only 1 flying level that I couldn't finish. It's great to finally see what happens when you get to Gnasty's Loot!
Thanks for uploading every Spyro level! Great job! Spyro got a new lease on life when Sony made this a $5 download for the PSP, although the controller settings have to be modified to use the "stick" or D-pad. But this Spyro game is my favorite. I remember when this game came out in 1998 and it was breathtaking in how well it had such good detail in a 3-D environment while still showing such wonderful far-away vistas.
Thanks for doing this video!... you've helped me in my quest to ties up loose ends from my childhood, many years after it has occurred :) I managed to get to Gnorc's Warp Space, but was not skilled enough as a kid to enter the Gnorc Boss Battle, let alone Gnasty's Loot, so it's just great to see what is within. MANY THANKS! :)
Amazing game as a child. What kept me interested was the large variety of levels with different enemy's each time. You didn't have to keep fighting the same battle all the time. Best game of all time
I love how there was more to do even after you beat the final boss. And I was young when I beat this game. Never used any walkthroughs or strategy guides and it took me a looong time. But still. I feel awesome.
I loved the Stone Hill architecture in this mixed with the industrial architecture of Gnorc Gnexus. It's the first level ever mixed with the very last level.
I love spyro, one of the best games ever. Haven't played this one in sooo long, all I remember is how much of a pain in the ass the blue dudes were.... I must have died at least 6 times trying to get ONE of them. Still own this game, now all I need is a play station...
One time, I was sick so I played this Spyro from the very beginning and beat it completely. As in 120% complete, in one day. I felt pretty flipping awesome.
This is a fun level to play in letting you know that you completed the game so they let you test your skills to get the remaining treasure getting 100% in this game is very hard
I love how they straight up tell you that you can fly by putting you on platform far away from the others. I know Spyro 2 and 3 have their rewards but it’s a shame they didn’t let you fly permanently in a level like this one.
In the alternate ending the fact that the sheep of magic Crafters head-butted the common gnorc that's the first time we see a fodder in Spyro being harmful which is really unusual and the scene was lofty Castle set in night time and Tomas and Argus were playing basketball with a sheep
Gnasty's Loot was my favorite stage in the entire game mostly because of the number of gems and having the ability to fly. I'd always leave my game saved just before that stage so I could play it over and over again.
oh dudes, so many memories and nostalgia.... When i was about uh 5, i played this on PS1 and i couldt go further than the Peacekeepers world. And i randomly entered each level but the speedway and i have random memories of each peacekeeper level. Cliff Town, My favorite level ever. Artisans is also my favorite World with all of its levels. My my, now that I've Finished the game 120% on 2012 and again Today Spt 5, 2014 I just cant et enough of it. Actually there is a bad side. I hate two worlds and all their levels: Beast Makers, and Dream Wavers... I hate em. Only the Boss of Dream Wavers wasn't very bad and the Castle with the Fairies that kissed Spyro. The rest of these worlds didnt really amazed me. Magic Crafters was the wolrd I never saw when kid cos i was stuck at Peacekeepers. I liked Magic Crafters better than Beast Makers and Dream Wavers. Oh and Gnastys World Was fun but I cant consider it as a World, I think its more like a Boss levels Hub. Have a nice day.
This took me the longest time to get to as a kid. I remember there was this one area in dreamweavers with treasure on a platform I couldn't reach. Turns out you had to charge backwards up two charge ramps to get high enough to glide over there. Then there was the level with all the giant trees in beastmakers lol.
The PS Store is a regional thing. In the US and Canada's PlayStation store the Spyro games have been for sale for years now, since the start of PSN I think, but I'm not sure where else they're on sale. I know they weren't in the European store last year.
Finally got to this stage (PS3 bundle pack, Spyro 1,2&3), Gnasty was a pain to beat and when I had beaten him I was at 97%, only had to completed the Wild Flight in Beast Makers and Icy Flight in Dream Weavers which took a few attempts each and then I was able to access Gnasty's Loot which I will finish tomorrow 😊
Aww!! I never could open that green dragon head!! I only needed to free two more dragons, but I could´s find them!! One was in Cliff town and the other, I don´t remember :/ -Phearmonkey
Good thing I'm at 94 percent. So far, I've done some levels and some flight levels, and defeated some bosses. Only thing needed to take care of is Gnasty's World, and I'm golden!
@Spearman22 my only guess is that in the first world (or possibly a different world) you never figured out the speedway level. For the first world it is by the waterfall and you have to turn all the stones yellow to open it up. Just my guess, otherwise you have a glitch I suppose.
Heh... the textures of this game really remind me of Unreal Tournament 99 and Duke Nukem 3d... all games back then seemed to kind of have this style and you can't really say it didn't age well; it's still looking fine.

I loved that this game literally had a unique song for every single level. It's the little things that count in my book.
And most enemies only apear in one or two levels also.
Derek The Rubbish WRONG some levels reuse music. Like the final home world uses the SAME MUSIC AS TOASTY
@@BagzAndPresident oh that's true.. any other examples? Because I can't think of any more. Maybe the High Caves song and the Treetops music are similar.. with tree tops being a bit faster of a tune.
Derek The Rubbish In Spyro 2 Idol Springs and Fracture Hills uses the same music. Theres quite a few i cant remember
Spyro 3 the first home world and the final boss
Aside from the mini games, this stage is the first time you actually get to fly and not just glide in the game.
First and only one if you don't count the flying levels.

A fine tribute to the greatest video game of all time. Sir, I salute you.
Best song of the whole soundtrack
I personally put Ice Cavern as my favorite, followed by Wizard Peak Alternate, but this song is also pretty good.
Dark Hollow and Town Square do it for me, but Ice Cavern is right up there.

Do not forget Dark Passage, which is amazing as well!!
