Not being familiar with the instrument, only having heard recordings of it in orchestral contexts, I had the preconception of harp I think many do--a simply pretty and sweet sound that evokes images of cherubs dancing in pink skies and that sort of thing. I'm glad I listened a little more carefully because it has a singularly deep, sonorous, complex character than I would have realized otherwise. Its sound gives even the simplest, 'pretty' melodies more depth and gravity.
You are absolutely right, many people have this misconception of harp, and this is a big problem for the harp.. But I am very glad that you have discovered the harp now, and I hope you keep discovering it and that you spread the word how amazing this instrument actually is!
I'm surprised that the lowest string keep vibrating for so long throughout the last few bars - holding a wonderful but subtle foundation for such a soft ending. Wonderful!
Really lovely rendition. One of my all time favourite symphonies and you capture the essence of it it beautifully with such a beautiful soft tone, your dynamics and sound are superb.
I love that you did this and that you did it so well! It’s such a simple piece yet complex piece of music. It’s lovely to hear such long ringing tones and their natural decay. I’m extremely impressed with the lack of pedal noise.
Felicitaciones por tu trabajo refinado y gran interpretaciones del espíritu de Mahler. Sobresalen muy bien las armonías y el toque romántico. Tu instrumento es de gran calidad .
Brava! A wonderful transcription. I've conducted this piece a number of times and you've captured its essence. (Maybe next time the few questionable notes that need corrections from 5:50 to 6:20 could be addressed).
One of the greatest symphonies!! This movement always took my breath away & touched my very soul! I saw this listed in Harp Column in the article "Tunes for Inspiration". I must work on this piece! I owe it to myself. Thank you so much for this arrangement and the lovely video clip! Can't wait to get it!
So this is why they play harps in heaven!
😇
Beautiful version of Mahler's glorious adagietto.

9:16 that particular note did something to me
The genius of Mahler- even in single notes...

Thank you! Yes, these strings vibrate for a long time. I wanted to use as many different "specialities" of the harp's soundscape as possible

Thank you! :)
Очень полноценно звучит в исполнении арфы.
Thank you!
Charmant.
Merci!
Lovely playing. The overly rapid shifts in camera, panning here and there, and zooming in and out greatly detract from the performance.
Thank you!
