@@Fishing247 I was out at Promar ahi today to grab replacement nets (RN-720), they have the best customer service. But I’ve also made the nets myself, it just takes a long time. I always wanted to make the frames out of rebar like you did,and one day I will. Not as heavy. I would love your recipe for making these. I am now an instagram follower as well. Again, thanks for sharing, and you are definitely doing it right.
Great video. I appreciate the workmanship to make I high quality hoops. This very inspiring. You also can’t go wrong with the Miller Milllermatic welder.
Thank you so much. I thought it is expensive until I helped Josh to make the hoops and really appreciate the love that Josh has put in making these hoops.
Great video! Does Josh sell them, maybe should put his link just in case people want to buys some. They look solid and no extra wt needed! Awesome video brother!
@@Fishing247 hoops are legal there. Just not that style. Per the regs up there, all parts of the net must be flat on the bottom until the rope is pulled.
Pvc coating is expensive. Since I already have the liner at home and it is free. The liner wrapping is so good for your boat, less impact. Thanks for your comment.
I ended up using silicone coating on our hoop nets last year, using an epoxy primer on the metal, to adhere the silicone in place, the silicone was double coated and produced a layer which bounced off and glided off out boat hull with no damage. Like the idea of 3/4 inch thick metal so we plan on making these at our yard
Please check Josh's Instagram if you would like to order the hoops:

Is there another way to contact Josh besides Instagram? I'm interested in the hoops. Thanks.

@@user-bx8gf4yr1m just sent you Josh email address. I don't know if TH-cam allows. If not send me your email address and I will send his to you.
@@Fishing247 thank you!
Those nets look like commercial grade hoop nets. That's a lot of intricate details & craftsmanship. Josh is a beast!
Yes. He is the hardest working person I know. It is way better than commercial hoops.
Awesome. Nicely done.
Thank you very much!

Welding is fun sir. 😜. Thanks
Quality work from salts of the earth 💪🤙
Thanks. Josh is a hard working man. Quality first.
That’s amazing to see what goes into producing something like that. Lots of hard work there. Thanks for sharing.
Yes brother. So much works for the hoops. At least 2 hours for making one hoops from the beginning to the finish. Thanks for watching.

I did have the link in the pinned comment and in the description. Thanks brother.
They weigh 32 pounds but mine with the extra anode weighs 34 pounds.
good job showing the people Thuy. Too bad I wont be crabbing or fishing , I broke my left arm and wrist,
Oh no. I hope you recover soon. Please take care of yourself.
Thanks for sharing! Could I ask you to share a link to where I can buy the rubber lining? I noticed the rebar scratches up the net.
You can use old tire tubing. I had old pond liner. You can buy the pond liner on Amazon, but it is expensive.
Can you use a rubber liquid sealer to protect the steel metal. ??
Yes you can.
👍
Thanks
What is the bolt metal material made of to prevent the rusting?
Everything will rust in the ocean unless you coat the hoop with liquid PVC or rubber.
@@Fishing247 ok good to know. Thanks for the informative video. Great work!
How do someone purchase Josh's Hoop?
Beat me to it! I want a couple
He only has a fews left. I will leave his IG link in the description. Thanks Moo.
Hi, where can I buy the rebar pre bent?
You need to reach out to Josh by Instagram to find out.
Btw you got a new boat? Or just changed it to a t-top?
Lol. It will be a surprise brother.

I may use some of these hacks for building new pots for WA. This style of hoop net is not legal in WA.

Why do you wrap rubber on hoop?
So the rebars do not scratch your boat floors.
How can I buy one? And how much?
I have Josh's IG in the pinned comment and the description. Get in touch with him.
are these stackable? would be nice to have them not take up so much room in the boat.
Yes. You can stack them up. 10 of them will be about 3 ft tall.
so the bottom of the net must be pretty loose or flexible and what about net replacement i see he quit making them? thanks Ray @@Fishing247
How much one
You can check Josh IG in the description for the prices.
I don’t know if you save any money doing it yourself when it is that labor intensive.
Josh made bread hoops for customers who really appreciate the great craftsmanship that Josh puts into making these hoops.
Why not dip them EAST COAST STYLE??? When I grew up we used to dip them in a tar like substance that would dry hard after it cooled.
Thanks for your suggestion. I would love to try if it is cheap and available.
Great idea, even Home Depot has Henry’s that would work under the rubber coating.
Why don’t you guys just spray it with dip it or flex seal or any similar type rubber sealer? Seems like a lot of wasted energy to me🤷♂️
