I feel like my ear canals are directly connected to the Earth's core listening to this.
At two in the morning a lone coyote on the mountain began to howl dismally. From somewhere within the works a dog barked in answer; either to the coyote-or to something else. A storm was gathering around the peaks of the range, and weirdly shaped clouds scudded horribly across the blurred patch of celestial light which marked a gibbous moon’s attempts to shine through many layers of cirro-stratus vapours. It was Romero’s voice, coming from the bunk above, that awakened me; a voice excited and tense with some vague expectation I could not understand:
“¡Madre de Dios!-el sonido-ese sonido-¡oiga Vd! ¿lo oye Vd?-Señor, THAT SOUND!”
I listened, wondering what sound he meant. The coyote, the dog, the storm, all were audible; the last named now gaining ascendancy as the wind shrieked more and more frantically. Flashes of lightning were visible through the bunk-house window. I questioned the nervous Mexican, repeating the sounds I had heard:
“¿El coyote?-¿el perro?-¿el viento?”
But Romero did not reply. Then he commenced whispering as in awe:
“El ritmo, Señor-el ritmo de la tierra-THAT THROB DOWN IN THE GROUND!”
And now I also heard; heard and shivered and without knowing why. Deep, deep, below me was a sound-a rhythm, just as the peon had said-which, though exceedingly faint, yet dominated even the dog, the coyote, and the increasing tempest. To seek to describe it were useless-for it was such that no description is possible. Perhaps it was like the pulsing of the engines far down in a great liner, as sensed from the deck, yet it was not so mechanical; not so devoid of the element of life and consciousness.

That skeletal wreck, once so full of life and noise, now an unwitting charnel house. They came so quickly, and so quietly, that not a single soul knew they were there until it was too late. Spilling up from vents and grating, unstoppable and seemingly infinite in number. Those few that escaped tell of the horror that claimed that outpost, and the nightmares that followed. Listen well, and pray you never hear the almost imperceptible yet relentless skittering, scrabbling through the ducts of your own, defenseless dwelling...
I'm going to put a story to this. And it's going to be the best one yet.

The captain slaps his fellow officer.
"Yeah, ok asshole, I get the fucking point. Now unless you'd like to go AWOL and get shot for desertion, I suggest you give up the diapers, put your big boy pants on, and get walking. We're dead if we don't reach Sigma Point by nightfall, Tim. And I'm using my bullets on myself, you get no mercy killings from me."
On July 23, 1997, a spacial anomaly was created in an undisclosed location in North Africa. The program was a joint effort between French, American, Egyptian and Algerian scientists. Following its creation, scientists and governments spent ten years developing a way to transport it. It currently resides in territory controlled by the United States.
Since 2009, a series of exploration missions into the anomaly have provided data on its nature. This data is often contradictory, but the landscape always resembles a rocky desert. 18 research outposts have built along a pathway. Sigma point is the deepest, most remote outpost.
Tim and the captain could see Sigma Point as the sun fell low in the sky.
"Come on, Cap. Pick up the pace, we're almost there."
"Oh shut up."
As the sky grew darker, they began to jog, and soon broke into a full sprint for the last 50 meters.
"Hey guys, it's the relief crew, let us in!"
Tim expected to be insulted or mocked for showing up late, but there was no response. The captain beat on the door.
"Come on, it's us! Don't make me yell out here, it's almost dark. Just open the fucking door!"
Nothing.
Tim decided to run around the the back of the dome shaped habitat. They were all built the same, with a north facing window at eye level.
"Captain, captain you gotta look at this. Holy fuck man, look at this."
The captain ran around to see. The roof had been caved in, a massive hole torn in the steel structure.
"Jesus, they're all fucking dead."
"Cap, *we're* fucking dead."
The two soldiers stood in silence as the sun fell below the horizon and a strange patchwork of stars slowly showed themselves in the sky above.
"Dragon" is not an accurate descriptor, but it is the name commonly used in reference to a species, or perhaps set of species, of reptilian creatures which live in the anomaly. They are strictly nocturnal and nearly blind. They hunt with an extremely strong sense of hearing and touch. Visiting humans appear to be the only other life in the anomaly, and are easier targets for predation than fellow dragons. Often comparable to tigers in size, they can swarm from miles away to feed on carcasses or live prey. No dragon has ever been able to penetrate an outpost. Swarms attack vehicles, making transport on foot the quietest, safest option.
"The hell do we do, Cap?"
"I don't know."
Fate soon answered for them. A dozen dragons at least, swarming to their conversation. Dragons do not kill prey before they start to feed. Tim shot a few, and turned to his companion.
"Cap, why aren't you shooting the- woah woah, hey! Stop!"
The captain stuck the barrel of his pistol in his mouth. He looked over at Tim, and their eyes met. In the brief distraction, a dragon leapt onto Tim's back and pinned him down. He began to scream as mouths grabbed at his arms and feet.
Horrified, the captain pulled his gun from his mouth and fired two shots into Tim's skull. Before he could retract his arm, a dragon pounced and bit down on his hand. He fell back and dropped his gun. The dragon stood on his chest. Dragons do not kill before they feed.
The fact that I got to be the first comment and like on this is a god damn honour. This was a better dreadful experience than most horror movies I’ve seen nowadays! Perfect , my man!
The outpost had been abandoned for close to fifty years or more. We had received a cryptic signal while cruising close to the planet. Lost and with no fucking clue where home was. The solar flare had disrupted our equipment including navigation. When we had fixed the comm link, that's when we had picked up the signal. Faint. Distorted. Garbled. We had checked the files and found the planet had been home to old mining operation many years prior. The whole outpost had went silent with no clue as to why. Rescue had proven fruitless when two salvage operations also went missing. We should've steered away. Tried to find a shipping lane yet we made our way down to the planet. A mental pulling had crept into our minds. Like something wanted us on the planet. As we descended through the atmosphere, I kept playing back the transmission we had heard. As our ship loomed over the outpost, I couldn't figure out one thing. The signal, before being lost, had repeated one phrase over and over. Make us whole. Make us whole. Make us whole.

Behold the ruin, once a vibrant bastion of life and sound, now a tomb-like charnel house. Swift and silent, they came, as if summoned by an otherworldly power, invading through vents and grates, their numbers uncountable and unstoppable. The few who survived the onslaught tell of a horror beyond comprehension, a nightmare that haunts their every thought. Listen closely, for the almost imperceptible skittering and scratching that echoes through the empty halls may be the harbinger of an unspeakable darkness, lurking just beyond the veil of our perceived reality. Beware, for the veil is thin and the unknown terrors that dwell within it are waiting to breach the threshold of our fragile abodes.
The outpost was abandoned we were told this planet was our future but we all felt like it was our end we found one of us dead in the outpost his body mutilated behond recognition then we looked around as we heard something and another one of us was dead but we saw what did it it was an disgusting amalgamation with its flesh falling from its body we ran fast as we could all of us l died but me and that is the story of this outpost

It is most vexing that we must abandon the border stronghold to those heretics. If I had but a little more time, I know I might e be able to turn the tides of this battle.
Nay... I should not put on airs. It is my curiosity that ties me to this place.
There are a number of ruins in the vicinity which the locals say are very ancient.
The ceremony site with four giant statues.
The caves with murals carved on the walls.
The stone plinth they call the Giant's Chalice.
Where did the people who built them come from?
Where did they go? It irks me that we must abandon this place without knowing.

@@Jorge_Jones well, I’d try to find dirt bikes for transportation, maybe electric so I could recharge them with solar panels and they would be stealthy. I’d have bolt cutters and a hand pump for gas stations. Walkie talkies, night vision and of course good weapons, silenced 22 magnum pistols because you can carry a lot more ammo. I’d hit the library for books on learning how to distill fuel and drinks, and how to grow crops. Also some electronics books to help with storage batteries and power generation. Construct rain water storage tanks and filtration systems. There’s so many things we’d have to learn, good thing I already know how to hunt and raise a garden, but yeh, it wouldn’t be an easy life. Oh yeh, and of course a well fortified compound up high with good vantage points.

Dystopia
Proseit: Dystopia, a place that is beautiful and thrives on the outside. But on the inside it's harshly ruled by dictators and those in power.
That's one example of a dystopia, other dystopia rely on people that are poor weak and shown no power or no threat. I take these people for advantage and create my own civilization that would terrorize all.
What people see on the outside, clouds they're judgment, for there is no book that can be judged by its cover. All the dystopia's are beautiful on the outside. But contain power and order on the inside. My machine City is created around a dystopia.
My machines keep order in some enslaved cities which I can use their people for abrupt test. My legion flies across trains and deserts searching for any survivors as there are brought back to my dystopia.
What power is good if can only be used in one place, my legion spreads across the gachaverse. There is no legion in all of existence that can take me on. Every planet that I capture is used to create a dystopia and to rise my machines.
But I'm not the only one that dreams is such cute and Glory, dictators, Kings ,tyrants, over the Lord's, terrorists, crusades. All wish to dream of their own dystopia.
In prison or enslave, we all dream of a place in our vision.
