@@karenm1965 it wasn’t bad at all, you just washed the area once per day and put on “tattoo goo” every few hours for a week or so after. No one noticed at all!
I’ve only been watching your videos since this past fall. I enjoy your videos and encouragement so much. Your videos are helping me tidy up and clean out - I am GRATEFUL for your inspiration to make my home a better, more comfortable, peaceful place! Additionally, it only just occurred to me that your mattress and couch have a huge selling point that I’ve not heard you mention. Being delivered compressed / unassembled they would be great for folks needing furniture up or down a flight (s) of stairs! I dream about finishing our attic as a guest space. Maybe one of these days. These products would be ideal for toting up the stairs! Keep up your important work!! Katie PS - congratulations on the new little 💙💗
I had permanent eyeliner done when I was 35. I'm 63 now and wouldn't change that move for anything. I love it still. Being really sick most of the time, it makes me feel at least I have eyes. My twin sister still colors her hair and all the high maintenance. I'm happy for her that she still can. You ladies are beautiful. Like my dad used to say," If the barn needs painting, then paint it." lol He had corny jokes, but I always laughed.
This video brought back memories. When I was 17 a boyfriend commented on how much easier it was for him just to shower and shave to meet for a date and how long it must take for me to get all my hair and makeup on ; (to enhance my looks while looking as natural as possible). That was the last day I wore any makeup. Same with drinking, we all met in pubs in those days, and I thought “Why am I drinking such that I have to concentrate on not looking as if I’ve been drinking”? After that revelation I would go into the pub, buy a drink for the barmaid, and then practice the art of making all my friends comfortable being around a non-drinker. A useful skill.
I love it. I also kind of love knowing that I am more minimalist at something than the minimal mom 😂. I remember as a teen I experimented with my prep for an outing. I usually was worried that I looked okay. A boy I liked seemed to like me whether I did my hair and wore my nicest outfit or had greasy hair and dirty clothes. Back then I had acne so that I couldn't wear makeup. I never learned how to do it. I still don't do any makeup or hair dye. And I ended up marrying that boy!
Angela - your story reminded me of a little funny thing I read - said “I’ve never pretended to be anything I’m not - well, except sometimes sober !” As someone whose life has been affected by other people’s drinking, I admire you for realizing that drinking was not something you really wanted to do - good for you - it’s an easy trap to fall into & then can be like quicksand to get out of - I do wear makeup, though - LOL ! ☺️
My favorite thing about both of your styles is that you don’t look too glamorous. No one would see you in public and think that you are trying too hard. Or that you are overdone. You look like natural beauties who don’t rely on makeup and hair to be pretty. I appreciate your tips and admire your styles.
You asked what we'd recommend, so here's what I recommend. Try to be as happy and grateful as you can be with naturally beautiful body that God has given you, even in all its changing forms as you age. BUT, if for whatever reason, you find yourself obsessing over something you want to change, just change it and move on. Personally, I'm grateful that my mom and other women I admired didn't spend a lot of time talking about beauty/outward appearance because it helped me not worry about it too much growing up and even now.
I really enjoyed hearing this from y’all’s minimalist and Christian perspective :) as a stay at home mom with no current beauty budget, I often get the “You look tired” comments but that’s ok for this season. I think what you do to make yourself feel more confident without totally going overboard is healthy :)
I see these things as a sort of hobby. Some of us spend a lot on yarn or golf clubs or gardening tools. Some of us play with lashes, nails, and hair! It’s artistry on the body canvas.
This video was fun to watch:). When you're together chatting 'girl talk', it seems like we're right there with you. Your videos together are wonderful & so relaxing. You both are beautiful with or without makeup!
Thank You Dawn for showing us your not-so-minimalist side. You look so pretty without make-up on, perhaps it is just my opinion but when I watch your videos and notice something new with your hair or eye lashes, etc I just think "oh there is something different and nice there" but your real beauty shines through the wisdom that you share with us and the effort that you take to make life so simple for so many. It would not matter to me whether your eye lashes are longer, or hair fuller. I would say the same to Diana- she brings a sense of calm and hope to her audience through her sharing of God's word and her natural beauty shines through. You have helped us live with life's theme "Things don't matter, people do". While I do agree that we all get more presentable for a stage performance and TH-cam is your stage, I would urge you to think of the adverse effects of the chemicals that can harm your body. I'm sure you will find the gory details of eyelash glue through many sources and if it is important to you, I hope you could consider using magnetic lashes instead. I know many in my country India would love to have your skin and hair, your light-coloured eyes and soft peachy lips. It's all a matter of perception I guess.
You guys are so fun and beautiful. I love how alike and different you are. I especially love your laughs. My daughter is a ballet dancer and has to use false eyelashes for performances. She uses magnetic eyelashes - they come with an eyeliner that helps the eyelashes adhere to her lashline. She puts her favorite eyeliner over it. Easier than glue. I decided to stop coloring my hair during the pandemic and went fully natural. I found that I was white around my temples, but a lot of my hair is still dark (esp in the back). I love not having to color it or worry about my roots showing. Took me several years to build up the courage to do it. I rarely wear makeup. I spend more time on my curly hair routine than my beauty routine.
Are you tired? ....And I am. 😂 I literally laughed out loud. You girls look beautiful! Dawn, I love that you showed us how you look pre-liner and lashes. You look great with or without makeup.
I loved this video, so glad you shared this and your tips! You both looks beautiful, and I laughed about people coming over and seeing you without makeup and asking “Are you sick? Are you tired?” Oh boy, I can relate! Xoxo
I'm laughing right out loud... "we're like those plain dolls that come in a box." You two are the best! I so appreciate you both being honest and vulnerable. Super refreshing to spend time watching this video. Cheering you both on and thanking God for you! PS you now have me considering microblading...as I look like a corpse with only my thin wispy eyebrows. 🙈
Yes indeedy!! You took the words right out of my mouth! Me too with microblading, as one day those eyebrow lines will be pretty unsteady and scribbly. :D
Congratulations on the new baby, Diana! I think you both look great...not over the top by any means. Your microblading looks very natural and your lashes don't look overdone at all (some look like black mini brooms!). I believe that we should do what we love, what fits our life and our budget. Love you both! 😍
Thank you for sharing! Esp the photo without make-up, Dawn. 🥰 I'm going to look into micro-blading my brows after seeing this! I lost mine due to hypothyroidism & it's quite a challenge making them look 'right ' and natural. I'm not trying to be vain, just less haggard. I'm 60.
You both look great! I'm not sure why, but being a brunette suits Dawn and blonde suits Diana, but not so much vice versa. I also love how you part your hair on opposite sides. I use both sides, but as a wavy haired girl, you have to go with what's happening that day. I love your channel Dawn, and love seeing the extended family as well.
You two are so funny and honest! I can so relate to Ann of Green Gables, I was the freckle faced red head who always got teased for my hair color. On top of that I had black eye lashes and eyebrows! Red hair and black lashes and brows are a pretty rate combination; when I was in 2nd grade a woman I didn't even know stopped me as I was walking home from school and accused me of wearing make up. (That was quite the shock.) Now my red has faded to strawberry blonde streaks with lots of white. And I STILL have black eyebrows - except for that third of each eyebrow that is pure white. I tried so many pencils, powders, etc, and wasted so much time trying to make them look like the old "me". I finally tried dying them with men's beard and mustache dye, and that solved my problem. It takes about five minutes to do, and lasts two or three weeks before the whites start popping out again. The dye is made for several beard applications so it lasts a long time for use on eyebrows. That's my tip!
One great thing about getting older is that I worry less about my “beauty”. I work at looking good but I keep the fuss to a minimum. You’re both lovely. Congratulations on the baby news! 🙏🏻💕
Very helpful! I'm losing my eyebrows with age (it's genetic; my grandma and my mother did the same, at just about the same age) and I've thought a lot about microblading. I've read a lot about it but everything I've seen is with fancy models wearing makeup and I wanted to know the truth about how natural it really looks. The closeup you did to show it was perfect and answered all of my questions. I was also interested in the pain level, and you answered that one too (though I realize it's different for everyone). I'm a pretty minimal makeup girl myself (foundation, eyebrows, mascara, the merest touch of color on my cheeks and lips and I'm all done!) so all the other information was very beneficial as well. Most of all, I deeply appreciate the transparency that allowed you to make such an honest video. Thank you!
I do think, that any kind of tattoo is something unnatural to the body. I would rather try to find a natural way to grow your hair back. (And yes, that's possible. Even if it's said to be a genetic issue.) If you want to learn more about the power of self-healing, I would recommend to check out Dr. Joe Dispenza's work. He has got so many amazing results in so many different kind of ways with so many different kinds of people. in the end it's still your choice. I just wanted to tell you, that there are other ways too.
You girls are so cute!! Diana, yes i would say it’s worth it. You look GREAT! That little bit of extra is working for you and it’s inspiring and refreshing to see women who are ok with putting effort into being beautiful inside and out. ♥️
My sister talked me into the eyebrows, the eyeliner, and the permanent lips. What I found out within three weeks is that I’m allergic to all of the tattoo colors and it all flaked off and left a permanent white “eyeliner” around my eyes. Lol! Live & learn. Plus I now get cold sores from the permanent lip tattoo. Luckily I can block those by taking lysine. I love how it looks on other people but I would never do it again. I should have had a small spot tested somewhere I’m sure. You both look great either way. It is nice to see somebody that doesn’t mind showing their real face online.
I was going to do the eyebrow thing too. Decided not to after reading how the dye can cause an allergic reactions and this really is a tattoo, with all the risks that come with those. And I don't like how most of them look. Too cookie cutter and way too large. Groucho Marx style is not my style!
Thanks for sharing I might not have thought of that at first. But as I've gotten older I have gotten more allergies so that would definitely be something to have to be tested out first.
I just LOVE how real you ladies keep things. It is so important that we share this kind of thing with each other because we all have our insecurities. It's just nice to remember that no one is perfect and each person decides what feels best for them. What makes us feel confident and yes, pretty. Thanks Girls!!
I get Brazilians every 5 weeks, get my hair done 4 times a year and get my toes done when they start growing out. I feel like women should never feel guilty or less than if they do or don’t spend money on this stuff. It gives me SO much self confidence and makes me feel like a woman. Thank you for sharing and advocating for this!
I haven't worn makeup since our daughter's wedding..... Almost 18 years ago... And only go to the salon 1-2 times a year... But this is so fun to watch....I had no idea how some of those worked.
Hi Dawn, Diana, and all! I've been a fan of the Minimal Mom for 3 years now. This video is so important to me... I'm 26, from Buenos Aires, but I want to let you all know I've been having skin problems since I was 15, plus gray hair here and there since 17 (professionals say this seems to be a natural thing to happen). I'm also dealing with gum issues at the time and I've hurt my knees playing volleyball in the past 😅. Beauty and health are indeed fleeting. Funnily enough, I love this video even if I don't like to wear make up at all (and I try to avoid it)... So, thank you so much for having a real conversation and in such a kind, genuine way. Love to you!! :)
I have said it before and will say it again, but I love the darker hair color on you Dawn. It works so well with your sink tone, and looks more natural. I knew I was very low maintenence kind of gal...but now I know I really am as I know NOTHING about any off what you talked about. But watch to be informed about them. My simple "make-up" is only: *face powder (to take some of the shine away), *mascara (i have very blonde hair), *little bit of light brown/tan eye shadow, and *chapstick! I don't do anything else ever, and if I know I'm going no place for the day...I do nothing.
A reminder to all of your followers to be wearing sunscreen on your face as part of your everyday skincare routine! I got the lash extensions at a discount thru the salon where my daughter is a stylist for a wedding and I never realized how much I must rub my eyes! I may try the micro blading, I have to tell you Dawn and Diana’s look great and very natural.
Dawn, love your natural hair color. Going too light pulls the color from the face and you lose definition. You are both beautiful ladies and deserve to feel good about yourselves. Thanks for sharing your lives with all of us.
If anyone is sensitive to chemicals and makeup, I recommend elate beauty. Their mascara is amazing. It’s more expensive than typical mascara but a tube of it lasts me a year and my eyes don’t react to it. (It has more natural ingredients, snd comes in compostable packaging.)
I love that you two shared this information. For one, I appreciate you both being so real and trustworthy. You’re both beautiful without these maintenance steps, but I totally get why you do them. Most of us just like to feel pretty and it’s nice to be free to admit it! The second reason I love this is because I’m 51, but I seemed to have missed the memo on some of this girly stuff. 😂 I don’t follow beauty tips very much, but I like to learn and can always use some help, lol! I also have very thin eyelashes and could use my brows filled out a bit too. I only recently discovered eyebrow gel with color in it, believe it or not, and that has been a game changer for me. I can’t believe I never tried it before, but the whole masking thing made me want to make my face above the mask look a little better. Before masks, I’d put on some lipstick and feel “done,” so without that option I went to Macys and asked for other ideas. I would seriously consider this micro blading too, because it looks so natural and low maintenance, which I love and need as a minimalist to my core like you, Dawn. Thanks for all you both do. Im probably older than most of your viewers, but I get so much out of your teachings.
I think it’s great you do things for yourself that makes you feel beautiful and confident. I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting micro blading for myself, so thanks for being honest about it. Now I know what to expect.
Oh the joys of beauty routines! I'm always looking for ways to make it easy and quick and I'm very impatient with time consuming routines. I do think Diana's blond hair is really pretty but I'm wary of the effort, expense and possibly poisonous chemicals. I only had my hair coloured for the year or so that my daughter was studying to be a hair stylist! I refuse to get my nails done too. But I'm over 60 and have come into "the really don't care who's looking anyway" years. It's rather freeing actually!
Thanks for being so real. So honest. I have four adult daughters they keep me updated on makeup. We are all lucky to have naturally long and dark eyelashes but other than that we need makeup to keep us from looking tired. I also follow you minimal mom videos. I'm an interior designer (in Israel) and I send my clients your videos to help them declutter before renovating their homes. Thanks for being down to earth.
I’ve been appreciating Elyse Myers lately who has gained a HUGE following and it’s not because of her looks, not that she is not BEAUTIFUL but I appreciate her just being her without all the fluff.
Why do I keep watching every video you put out? Because you always provide helpful information. From how to stop dishes piling up to getting the laundry into a system that flows naturally, you offer options to make our lives easier. Thank you for bringing this to fashion & beauty as well. Having a system for makeup/hair etc makes it easier to decide what your personal look is. Taking the stress out of that frees us up to move onto the important things in line. I didn't grow up knowing much about beauty & struggled with just basics of putting myself together. Thanks for being real & sharing yet again!
Over the years, I’ve done less and less. I never really got into wearing lots of makeup or doing my nails. Tried to keep it closer to my natural look. But I have colored my own hair since I was in college. All the ladies in my family started greying in our early 20s. And in the past few years, I have been cutting my own hair. After spending money on a botched hair cut and coloring a few times, I decided I could do it myself and save money.
This video is very kind of y'all and helpful! I had no idea some of these tools, tips and tricks were available. It tells you how behind I am! Love the candidness and honesty-thank you!
Two things: I got eyelash extensions for my wedding and maintained them for 2 months… amazing lash studio and most lash artists WILL damage your natural lashes. My lashes which were long and beautiful prior to…broke in half, leaving little baby hairs. It was horrible. It’s been 3 months since I cancelled my package and with using castor oil 3x a day my lashes are just now coming back to where they were before I started. Ask about the adhesive and don’t go to a chain. And the other thing… microblading is the most painful beauty procedure I’ve ever experienced, lol, BUT… I’m a lifer, lol.
It does help for women to share what they do. My 7 children are all adults now, but It helps me to know I'm not crazy for wanting to look pretty. It feels good. Thank you for making it so fun!!!
This was such a cute video. I felt like i was having a conversation with my girls. I'm the super low maintenance one now. I'm 65 and I've quit dying my hair red and let it transition to natural gray. I LOVE the lack of maintenance and my hair is so much healthier. I have gotten permanent eyeliner but i need to have it done again. I don't have eyes either. My eyebrows have gone light gray too but I use a Sharpie marker! and just brush backwards through my brows for a charcoal eyebrow. I'd love to have those done permanently too.
You both warm my heart so much. This was truly like a girls afternoon conversation with dear friends. I'm 61 and am considering the microblading because my brows are so sparse now. So thank you for addressing that. You both are so incredibly beautiful with it without brows or extensions or fancy nails. You are the prime example of a beautiful godly woman. Kind, strong, caring and giving. God bless your ministries. 💛
The root touch up is amazing. My hair dresser saw me about a week before my appointment and the day of my appointment she was shocked. The week before she was wondering why I even wanted it colored. She understood when she saw my real color
Thanks for sharing this bc some women don't share what they do and you just think: why don't I look like that naturally... and then you realize theyre doing some additional things. I finally got microblading and love how natural yet less washed out I look now.
I’m always in the “if you like it, go for it” camp. I think we all have had different seasons of life where we do more than other seasons. When I was at an office working, I was more made up (also making more money). Running my home daycare, I wore basic makeup (mascara and clear lip gloss) and earned less money. I have found that with age comes confidence. I feel more confident without makeup now (mid 40s) than I did in my twenties… but I also have dark eyebrows and lashes, which helps. I get my hair colour from eSalon because I just can’t pay salon prices🥰
I love how down to earth and honest you both are. The degree to which we want to ‘enhance our looks’ is certainly a balancing act between loving our bare faces while also feeling good about ourselves and looking presentable, while also trying not to succumb too much to external pressures. I think staying grounded in one’s core values and setting boundaries is key. I’m still juggling and balancing it myself!
I've had my brows balded too and yes ouch! I have alopecia areata and I just lost half my eye brow one day. I love that my brows look like good brows with no effort on a daily basis. Anything beauty that saves me daily time is a yes from me. I barely wear makeup anymore so I love these semi-perm options
@@shweetiepetina1563 yes microblading is tiny cuts that a semi permanent ink is put into to create the hair it’s made for no brows or thinning brows if you had full brows there’d be no point other than if your natural brow wax really light and needed to be darkened up to define them. Xx hope that helps
I think everyone should do what makes them feel best about themselves. We all have different looks...some dramatic, some natural, and in between. At 72 I still love to play with makeup, but go for a more natural look that does not take a lot of time. I recently watched a video with Lisa J. on TH-cam where she talked about eyelash extensions and she noted that when they grow out your natural lashes will be thinner and need time to grow back in; just like nails that have had acrylics are damaged and take time to grow out; the same as woven in hair extensions damage the hair that they are attached to. You girls are both beautiful!
You guys are the best. I love your content and I appreciate all of your videos and all of the topics you bring up ! Legit, my favorite channel! I am glued ! Lol ❤️
Currently I do basically nothing, because I’m lazy, and I have a baby and a toddler, and I’m low key on makeup/hair/grooming to begin with. I try to make my hair not stick up weird and I occasionally shower. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with makeup or things like microblading etc, but I wish people wouldn’t feel the pressure to do ALL of the things all of the time. You can just do the ones that feel worth it to you, and you can stop if they’re not worth it anymore, and you can only do things some of the time. I do think it’s also worthwhile to get comfortable with your bare face! As a society we don’t tell men that their bare face is unfinished or tired. Dawn, you look lovely without makeup and have that bright-eyed Dawn-ness that’s part of your charm.
I had microblading done, and I LOVE it!! I also have permanent eyeliner. the BEST! :) I don't wear makeup due to allergies and laziness :P I totally recommend.
@@PaladinDansesGirlfriend I had it touched up because the first application faded quite a bit. I had upper and lower done. If I were to do it over, I'd only do the upper lids. The lower seems a tad harsh on me. I'm very pale and over 55 ;P
After years of buying products, I have learned less is better for you and your health. Makeup nail products all absorb in your skin. People wonder where all cancer comes from. We should embrace what we have. I have thin hair also and learned not to wash my hair more than twice a week. Now my hair texture has never been better. I wish I knew this when I was younger. My hair at 63 is halfway down my back, and I love it!
I always think your eyes look so pretty! I could never do anything around my eyes due to dry eye and allergies. And there was a local woman who lost sight in one eye from a botched eyelash extension. I used to NEVER do any makeup or anything, but now I maintain my hair, cut every 4 weeks, cut and color every 3 months or so. And during the pandemic I really got into doing my nails. I never thought I'd be that person. But I love it! I use Color Street strips. I also started a face routine with a wash, serum and moisturizer. On "fancy" days I use a BB cream. And if I have to be on camera or stage for my job I add a little blush. I've never known what to do about my eyes tho!
This was really fun to watch! In a couple months, I will be 65 and have never worn false lashes! If you apply "very black" Big Lash, then reapply it after the first coat dries, it darkens lash hairs that you can't normally see and makes your lashes look really thick and long. The microblading is interesting. You literally cannot see my eyebrows with nothing on them. For years, I wished someone made an eyebrow color application that could be applied with a brush. Someone finally did and I like it a lot. I think it looks natural and not overdone. When I was younger, I liked getting the gel nails, but they are so expensive and ruin your real nails. I am at the point now where I like them short. If polish would stay on, I would wear it all of the time, but it doesn't. I have curly hair and have been able to get by with cutting it myself. And several years ago, I stopped coloring my hair and just go with the silver and brown combination. You both look lovely. ❤
I’m 55 and I can tell you that the really cool and unexpected thing about getting older is that it forces you to wear a minimal amount of makeup. The more I wear, the more it will go in and accentuate every crease in my face. I’m sure that’s mostly because I don’t know what I’m doing STILL with make up, but I’m taking it as a win!
I love Diana’s light hair but I like Dawn’s eyelashes better than Diana’s. They look more natural. I think you’ve convinced me to look into micro blading. Thank you both for being so honest and real.
I feel this! I love the tips! My hair, brows, and lashes are also very thin, but also blonde so that makes it look nonexistent! I love dying my lashes to make them stand out a little more. Love the idea of micro blading, I might have to try that! I’ve tried extensions but my hair is so thin the sections are hard to hide in my hair and with my hair being so fine they slide out most of the time (those extensions are heavy!!).
I just so appreciate feeling like my good friends are sharing their experiences with me! One thing I’ve started to enjoy is using a self tanner once a week. I like Tanologist from Target; the clear mousse is great. Takes some patience getting used to application around ankles and knees but overall that touch of sun just makes me feel better.
This was, hands down, the best beauty video I have ever watched. Thank you for keeping it real! I struggle with my desire to look pretty and my thoughts about being too vain. I also don’t want to spend a lot of time on “decorating” myself, as I much prefer decorating my home! You are both lovely!
I stopped coloring my thin, baby fine hair September 2018. In March 2020 I stopped blow drying and using heat instruments every day. Those are for very special occasions. My hair is so healthy, long, and shiny now. I am starting to notice new hair growing in on my widow's peak. I did go buy the eyelashes because I have small eyes and always look tired. Thank you for that inspiration.
Fun chat. Love how honest you both are. You should try Color Street nail strips. (I'm not a dealer but I love them.) Real polish. Easy to apply. No waiting for them to dry. Lasts about two weeks. Maybe a little less for me because I'm still working on not biting my nails. But I also find I don't pick at them as much as when I wear normal polish. Much healthier than gel.
I think yalls current looks are perfect. I love getting my hair done, but I've been going more natural due to damage also. I'm enjoying it. Definatly need some of that root spray, though. I do want to look into lashes. I think I'm more into the glue on rather than the extensions due to upkeep. I just know I won't keep it up.
Thank you for sharing what is important to you! I have thought about micro blading, but I haven’t ever seen it done as naturally as yours! I just recently started using FlutterHabit false lashes which last 5-7 days. I found that when I wake up and see my lashes done, I feel a little more motivated to pull the rest of myself together. It’s a game changer for me and also helps me be a little kinder to myself.
Love this fun chat, thank you ladies for being transparent and sharing. I definitely do more since being on TH-cam and always enjoy Christian content about towing the line between some fun with your appearance and vanity. I also love to garden and while God made the flowers already so incredibly beautiful, the Gardner still enjoys using their gifts for color and texture to arrange the flowers In a beautiful pleasing way to the eye. I think God gives us all a beauty, outside and in, but it is fun to use our creativity and joy for color to arrange things on the body, hair and makeup that are pleasing to the eye. Always a delight ladies😊
'Spoken' so lovely. I look at my 7 yr old dog who is mixed of only 3 colors: mostly white with blobs of brown & splashes+ sweeps of black. She is beautiful but there are those who don't see her beauty possibly they are not true dog lovers. I tell my family how on 1 side of her jaw is one black sweep of God's paint brush while there is none on the other side of her face. We are each beautiful & the seen beauty is in the eye of the beholder: whether lilies of the field, persons, or pets, or butterflies. I had black eyebrows & eyelashes with yellowy blond straight hair. I use to intentionally go to the hair dresser for only to get my eyebrows dyed the same color of my hair until I learned to thin them myself. I got bullied for being shy & skinny in school. Plus I had done the curly perms until I realized that straight hair was great for me. It's a journey to find you. 🌷Blessings2y'all ✨☘️🌤️
I need to have the microblading....was scared...knowing that you 2 ladies had it done...convinced me to have it done asap...it is slightly more expensive in South Africa 🇿🇦 Love the 2 of you...your perspective on live ,love ,people ...what is really important etc. Is refreshing and not " worldly" your laughing picks me up when I have difficult days...love both your channels ...but must admit..when you do a episode together it is a extra spoil !! Every post is a blessing from both of you !! Plain doll ??? You radiate from inside ...but I am with you...doing something that makes you feel better is not vain its is enhancing who you are !!
I joke that my eyebrows are just “five little friends holding hands”, so you’ve given me some hope that I can change that. 😂 Loved this one on one video and you both being so candid about your beauty stuff. Thank you!!
Micro blading was hands down one of the best beauty investments I’ve ever made. Lash extensions are beautiful but I agree, so much maintenance. Love that you both talked about what you do. Sometimes I feel guilty that I love getting my nails done but as a mom of 5, on those “mom hair don’t care” days, it’s nice to look down at my pretty nails and feel a little pulled together.
Thanks for sharing. I used the root spray when I wanted to grow out my gray hair. I sprayed white on the rest of my hair to blend it in with the roots so I didn't have a skunk line. This worked great.
I’ve been watching this channel for a while now. I found this very interesting and appreciated the information. I’m a nurse and a new mom. I will say. High messy buns, no jewelry, no makeup is my daily go to. I’m also not on a social platform. I will say do what works for you and your lifestyles, I love the realness on this channel.
I am a firm believer in doing those little things that make you feel more confident! Just had my annual microblading touch up appointment yesterday. I agree that it makes a huge difference and worth every penny.
Never would have guessed you’ve done micro blading because on social media all I seem to see are very intense, dramatic brows. Now I feel like I might look into it because yours are so natural looking!
I have had invisible eye brows and eyelashes my entire life. Might be scary if they were visible after all of this time. ;) A doctor once told me that fair-skinned and light-eyed people absorb medication more quickly so maybe the numbing solution is starting to wear off before they get started. Maybe if they started sooner and reapplied it wouldn't sting so much. I love both of your channels but especially when we get two for one. :)
Dawn I just love your honesty. I really enjoy the feedback on beauty tips that worked and ones that are just a waste. Thank you both for sharing your beauty secrets 😊
What a cute video. You both look so nice with the choices you made. I was shocked because you both look very natural and real. Both your eyebrows look beautiful. They look perfectly real. I've seen some friends who have had something done like that to their brows and it is obvious and looks fake. These procedures and products you have chosen don't look fake at all. I noticed neither of you wear lip color. You didn't mention it either. You'd be amazed how a little lip color brightens your eyes and face. Thanks for a very interesting video. Congratulations to Diana on her pregnancy!! Thanks.
I enjoyed this video! Loved your honesty and openness. I enjoy both your channels very much! I hope the costs for these beauty enhancements are less where you live. I researched in my city. Micro blading- $400-600, touch ups $150-300 Hair colour and foiling $120 Hair Cut $60 Gel Nails $50 Eyelash extensions $125 refill $65 It’s expensive to be beautiful in Canada!
I had my brows done and the first time oh my it hurt! I went to a different person and their numbing cream was stronger and boy let me tell you I didn’t feel a thing!
This one was SO fun! Thanks! Most of the micro blading I’ve seen is so over-the-top, unnatural, but having sparse brows myself as I get older, you two have made me want to try it!!! Even my kids would ask me if I’m tired when I had no make-up on, and that was 30 yrs ago, so I NEVER leave the house without makeup! I’d also like to try permanent eyeliner. One product I’ve tried is WOW root cover-up, which is pressed, comes with a brush, & will not rub off on your pillow. I’ve purchased dark brown for my natural hair color and platinum for adding highlights (when I got a horrendously dark dye job.😳) It’s fun to use both now as I’m going grey.
Love this guys thank you beautiful ladies!! I'm tempted by the hair extensions for sure for my mums wedding as my hair is shorter than I'd have liked it.
Since I retired back in 2015 I only wear makeup when I go to church. I now use Rhoden and Fields face cleaner and makeup…it has been the only thing that has made me not have pimples or large black heads. It is costly but the container lasts a long time. Thanks for sharing such important things as even beauty…though it is your hearts and personality that draws people to you!
Well you’re both gorgeous! Natural and “outlined and in color” 😂 My biggest “controversial” choice was to go grey!!! I’ve had every color hair…black to blonde to red …. I started greying at 18!! And was completely grey by 30…. By far, Red is my favorite, but grey is all mine now. I am a bright silver and I got it all cut short and a little “edgy” from long layers down my back…. I love it. I can’t see myself going back. No maintenance and natural. So hair is my biggest extreme change over the past 5 years. Love you both!! See you soon!! ❤️🙏🏻
Me too about hair color. Someone thought I had paint in my hair at 18. I highlighted for awhile but then got compliments on the natural gray/blonde colors...so now all silver. Like it, but need some brows!
Oh my goodness! I’m sooo happy you took the time to make this video! I enjoyed every minute of it! Praise God for the both of you! May the Lord continue to bless your ministries🙏🏼🙌🏼🫂🥰👍🏼💪🏼
During COVID, I stopped wearing makeup. When we were invited to an outdoor party, I put on foundation, eyeliner, etc. The next day, my dear husband sheepishly said, "I don't know how to tell you this, but you look better without makeup." I have not worn makeup since. It took some adjusting when I looked in the mirror, but now I am channeling Alicia Keyes. You two are beautiful with or without makeup.
Same thing happened to me too. Got out of the habit of foundation. Using just a good moisturizer instead. I think my skin looks better now without makeup.
I'm 61. A few months back I purchased a tube of Eye Envy lash and brow serum on the advice of my esthetician because my eyelashes were disappearing. I was skeptical and it was expensive ($70 for a tube) but I decided to give it a try. It took a month or more to start noticing a difference, but it really has made my eyelashes grow longer and thicker. Huge difference. I did not use it on my brows, but apparently it works for thin brows too. I get my eyebrows dyed every month or so and have been pleased with the results. I'm lucky to have an excellent esthetician who I've been going to for 20 years.

What was the recovery/after care like for your micro blading? Thanks. 😉

I wish I could get total face makeup permanently..... !!!!
"If the barn needs painting"...my dad said the same! Love it!
I wanted to do the eyebrow thing but they say if you're over 50 not to do it is that true?
Very insightful and self possessed.
Whoever did y’all’s eyebrows did a wonderful job. They look so natural and not fake.
Yes, I was thinking the same thing.
My favorite thing about both of your styles is that you don’t look too glamorous. No one would see you in public and think that you are trying too hard. Or that you are overdone. You look like natural beauties who don’t rely on makeup and hair to be pretty. I appreciate your tips and admire your styles.
YOU guys are so kind to have shared such real moments! Thanks for making the regular "out of the box" girls be enough!
Agreed.
This was so sweet!🥰
Same here Momma. Mom of 4 and my youngest is 8months old and not sleeping. Looking tired is just the reality of it for me now.

Top comment!!!
Welcome to your natural color! It's nice over here 😊
Are you tired? ....And I am.
Xoxo
I laughed out loud too!😂 I can relate! Great video and now I’m considering micro blading!🤔
Dawn - so humble & transparent… I salute you for going “ natural” .
Helps show the transformation on days we choose to make the extra effort 👍🏼😊💕
I’m glad that I was not the only one to feel the pain.
It’s a matter of confidence. Do it if you feel good. When you’re confident, you smile more and THAT’S where beauty comes from.
So funny 😁
I have light eyebrows so maybe I will consider microblading

I'm almost 60 and have been microblading for about 3 yrs. it makes a huge difference.
Same! I'm getting ready to turn 40 and it just doesn't mean that much to me anymore. I have a very simple approach to beauty routines now.
I wish I could agree. I feel like I need more every year now that I’m 50
@Rachel Crossen It's an adjustment not wearing as much as first, but you get used to it. Your skin gets clearer to!
I'm sorry to hear that! Commenting to "boost" this so others read it.
I was going to have permanent eye liner done when a friend said she was allergic to the ink. ok, I'm fine. lol
I'm so sorry that happened to you! A good warning
Thank you for sharing bc my eyes are Super sensitive to makeup.
Thank you for sharing! I've always had trouble wearing mascara because it makes my eyes itch like crazy. I've heard it's the preservative in it...
Elyse is hysterical!!!
I also felt like it was a conversation with friends.
I’m a “full classic” lash girl for sure!
Love it!
You two are beautiful inside and out! All the extra stuff is just bonus and perfectly fine and fun 🤩
I just started doing my own gel nails. What a time saver no more waiting your turn no more making appointments. Just watch TH-cam videos so easy.
Do what makes you feel beautiful and fits your budget!
I think beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. You girls are beautiful!
Does the mb work for no eyebrows?
I don’t wear makeup or dye my hair but I was still intrigued so I watched the whole video 😂
I actually think your individual hair colors suit you both so well! You're both gorgeous! What a fun video!
You guys are the best. I love your content and I appreciate all of your videos and all of the topics you bring up ! Legit, my favorite channel! I am glued ! Lol ❤️
This means more than you know, THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
@@TheMinimalMom I am seriously hooked too! Thank you both soooo much for sharing such wonderful content!
How did you tolerate the eyeliner? I did it and it was awful - restore didn’t last either.
It's not lazy! It's efficient!
I'm 25 and I feel like my foundation settles in all the wrong places too 🤦🏼♀️ when someone figures it out, let us know!
Just a quick hi from Canada while watching your video! Take care and God bless!🤗🍀🌼
This was, hands down, the best beauty video I have ever watched. Thank you for keeping it real! I struggle with my desire to look pretty and my thoughts about being too vain. I also don’t want to spend a lot of time on “decorating” myself, as I much prefer decorating my home! You are both lovely!
I can relate with the faint eyebrows and lashes!!
This was a really fun video! Thank you.
🌷Blessings2y'all ✨☘️🌤️
I need to have the microblading....was scared...knowing that you 2 ladies had it done...convinced me to have it done asap...it is slightly more expensive in South Africa 🇿🇦
Love the 2 of you...your perspective on live ,love ,people ...what is really important etc.
Thank you!!
🤣🤣🤣 That got me this morning.
I’ve been considering micro blading so this brings me one step closer
Thanks for sharing. I used the root spray when I wanted to grow out my gray hair. I sprayed white on the rest of my hair to blend it in with the roots so I didn't have a skunk line. This worked great.
Oh that's a great idea!!!
Dawn, I love looking at you, you remind me of my first memory of my mom when I was a child. She is 66 now and as beautiful as ever. ❤️
I recently found the root spray too. So worth it!👍🏼
I’ve been watching this channel for a while now.
You've got that glow Diana !
Thanks.
Thank you so much for this! We actually both have lip color on here (Diana insists!) maybe we need to go a little more vibrant!
I enjoyed this video! Loved your honesty and openness. I enjoy both your channels very much!
I hope the costs for these beauty enhancements are less where you live.
I researched in my city.
Micro blading- $400-600, touch ups $150-300
Hair colour and foiling $120
Hair Cut $60
Gel Nails $50
Eyelash extensions $125 refill $65
It’s expensive to be beautiful in Canada!
It's a lot different to be insecure without all these beauty products and obsessive about it, and to feel fine without it just better with.
I think you would get just as many likes with or without the makeup because you are genuine ladies with good hearts!
I started graying in my teens as well but chose to grow out natural during the pandemic. I love my gray curls now!
Ahhh!!! Congratulations Diana!!!! Many blessings to you all!!!!!!!! Super exciting!!!!! 😘
Ah I loved this video! Feels like girly sister time- the best 🥰💞
