This will work but only if you only turn it off from one pair of switches. If it is off from the left pair, nothing you do with the right two switches will turn it on. Replacing the two middle switches with DPDT switchs that reverse the traveling wires will make it work from any location.
absolutely correct, instead of switches that make a permanent connection once pressed, they'd better use a door bell button, of course with the same look as any other normal switch, and a relais, then you can have up to dozens of (door bell button) switches.

I think if the light was on you could turn it off from any switch but if the light was off you could not necessarily turn it on from any switch because the circuit might be broken in 1 or 2 and nothing 3 or 4 does can change that…and visa versa.

This wirig is totally wrong!!! If the right side is switched off, the you cannot switch on the light on the left side! The middle two switches have to be X (4connectors) and not V (3 connectors) ----------
It doesn't work perfectly... if you change the state of 1st or 2nd switch, turning off the light, then the 3th or 4th switch can't control the lamp... In really, the circuit acts a AND logical function, where 1-2 switches are in series with 3-4 switches...

Although a great graphic, installing two pairs of 3-way switches connected as shown, will NOT work as shown. If there is no voltage coming from the first pair, there is nothing that can be done by changing either of the other pair of switches that will work because of no voltage at third or fourth switch.

Nice graphics, but your circuitry is flawed. Only the outer switches can be 3 way. The center ones need to be 4 way in order for it to work properly. It's the sort of mistake a lot of non-electricians make.

From figure given, let us say all switches are on ( coz all switches are upper pressed), so the bulb is lighted. Let us label first the four switches namely from the left, A, B, C and D. What will happen then, if: Leftmost switch (A) is swicth off (lower pressed). Then, the connection or continuity line of switches A and B is disconnected. Then the bulb lights off. With the above condition (A is disconnected with B, coz A is lower pressed and B is upper pressed), What if You're located near switches C and D, how can you turn on the bulb/light by switching C or D? Switches group A & B will work just by themselves, as well as switches group C & D will work just by themselves. If both groups are connected to each other, ie, as what shown in the figure, the connection of the two groups' line continuity cannot be proven or established to be always connected.

Interruptores intermediarios (4 pinos) são feitos pra isso, pois evitam esse problema que ocorre na ligação que o sujeito está espalhando por aí. Sempre tem que haver 02 condutores entre os interruptores.

@@branddo sim, é sério. Sou engenheiro eletricista! Para esse circuito funcionar precisa usar 02 interruptores intermediarios (4 way, intermediários ou inversores, depende da região o nome muda). E sempre usar um par de fios , que é onde esse circuito fracassa, pois se cortar a energia se um lado, ainda podemos ligar para o outro lado!
