    I felt safe even at night in Korea, but as soon as I arrived back to the States, I could feel the difference.

    In Korea, you can walk around everywhere , anytime and you don't have to watch your back, that's for sure.

    Oh My God!! Yes! I've only ever felt unsafe around foreigners while in Korea as well, specifically Russian and Indian men. The amount of times I've been stalked on the streets by those men... smh, I can't even tell you. They were all literal thirst buckets. I lived in Korea for a year and I felt completely safe with everyone I met, besides them. I even felt safe walking down dark alleyways late at night by myself. Coming back to the States though, I wouldn't dare do that, I hardly even go outside anymore unless I'm with someone else.

    Don't worry about the birds in the background. They're not unpleasant sounds like the traffic or the commotion of a city. It was actually nice to hear some beautiful ambient sound with your voice. And great vid btw :)

    Thanks girl! I really needed this. My sister and my best friend (she's korean) want to both go to Korea. My sister is very in love with the culture itself and she eventually influenced me. I really want to go with them both (seprately) at some time, and finally by myself to just explore and get to know myself. Its good to know that its 99.99% safe for a female by herself, since that's what im planning and its an ultimate goal in my life to go at least twice. I'm gonna do more research about it, and hopefully my wish is granted. Stay safe!

    안녕하세요 Ambie! I just wanted to post to say firstly that you are so lovely and you have such a beautiful, radiant spirit!
    I love this video😁 You gave such great advice and you were speaking some truths lol.
    Personally, I've been to Seoul, South Korea twice now, the first time being a solo trip. As a woman of color, I had my own trepidations going out there the first time by myself. But, I am sooooo incredibly happy I went for it because it was truly a magical experience, and quite honestly the best trip of my life in every aspect. South Korea has a special place in my heart and I can't wait to go back (knowing a whole lot more Korean next time lol).

    Korean elders can be very blunt... Elders think they are giving you advice but if you didn't grow up in Korea it can come off as being rude.

    3:25 "the Punishments are a lot harsher in these countries than they are....." I disagree with this. Korean legal stuff, prison, etc... are less harsh than others, especially with the United States or UK. Korean people often make fun of this. They want harsh punishments with criminals but they're too soft. slang name of prison is "school". free food, teachers, very cozy, tv, game console, clean rooms, etc.Most koreans think the Korean justice system is too good and there are too many rights for criminals, but they don't give a s*** about victims. it is huge social issue here.

    Hi, I'm korean.
    I knew that some countries were dangerous, So i was wondering if Korea was dangerous. It is safe for foreigners to feel, so I can invite friends to home. Thank you for your review 🙆🏻‍♂️

      jen girl yup! May is still spring in Korea, so it is good for traveling. Although i would recommend more April or October. In April you could see the cherry blossoms and in October the Autumn leaves.

    I'm surprised I think Jeju is becoming more popular with foreigners and I'm surpised because it's an island lool

    • @darnitahoward6959
      @darnitahoward6959 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mariah Smith There is an increase in Yemen population in Jeju because they are refugees. Their time ended in Malaysia and Jeju doesn't require a visa so that was the closest place for the refugees to go.

    How long do I need to saveeee

    • @ambiespeakskorean4961
      @ambiespeakskorean4961  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on your end goal. How long will you stay in Korea? You should open a separate savings account specifically for Korea. And add money to it monthly. $150-$200 monthly if you can. And don't touch it. After a few month (3-4) you should be able to purchase your ticket. Try to go at the beginning of the year or october ish.. it's a lot cheaper. But even after you purchase your ticket, keep adding money to that account, so that you have spending money and of course you need to purchase your hostel, hotel or air bnb (wherever you decide to stay) I hope this helps.

      Racism, yes, no excuse. I don't want to cover this up. They may say like hey it's statistically proven and so on, but I'd like to say that's (at least partially) social stigma. Will education fix this? To the certain point, yes, but I guess it's impossible for us to be heterogenic or multicultural society. We can only be multiracial. It's like "you can *stay* here as long as you want, but you can't *live* here unless you try to learn our language and culture, and never ever form your own foreign sub-society because that will ruin this country!."
      Yeah, pretty much violent and almost sounds uncivilized in multicultural point of view. Is it bad? Honestly I don't know. We have never ever been multicultural for at least thousands years, and never ever forced and ruined other culture to be one of us like imperialists. I have a lot of foreign friends and 100% open to have a foreign neighbor with their own culture, but illustrating having a foreign senate who represents foreign culture over our own feels...a little bit...wrong.
      Open to any criticism. I do want to hear other opinions. That's why I'm binging "Being in Korea as a foreigner" videos nowadays.
