But when I decided to give this album a listen, I'll never forget hearing this song for the first time and as soon as that riff hit, my mind was just blown.
Dude that did the soundtrack to Doom asked John Carmack what type of music they wanted in the game. He handed over a stack of cds such as Pantera, Metallica n all the heavy metal and the rest is history.
When Doom was being created, they literally handed Robert Prince a stack of CDs and said "Make it sound like this.," That isn't a paraphrase that comes directly from Robert Prince in the thousands of interviews and documentaries about it. So he made it sound like that.

Wowo dude, 50! Our idols and references and values are all old, dead and forgotten by the new folks. We that were part of the golden age aka 90's can resort to them to keep ourselves alive, but the world has gone to shit.
I agree with you brother. All we can do is hand it down to our kids and hope there are enough to keep it alive through the ages. Rock on and hail Dimebag!
Somebody once said the four most important metal bands were Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Metallica. Pantera has to be the fifth. They dominated the 90’s scene and completely revolutionized the genre. 🤘🤘🤘
It began when Sabbath & Priest were doing heavier rock. then Metallica, megadeth, slayer, and anthrax made it better. Then Pantera came along and made it perfect. I love all those groups, but Pantera is the one that has that perfect metal sound.
@Artur Szczepień yeah, not so sure about that... Good Friends And A Bottle of Pills, Suicide Note pt. 2, The Underground In America, It Makes Them Disappear, etc. I guess if you mainly listen to "the hits" that might be the impression that you get. Also playing faster does not make a band HARDER or HEAVIER.
Im a 53 yr old guitarist, that also plays bass..... but the reason i love pantera is ALL of them combined.... Phil is just so fearce on this album... my god

The best metal music has ever been. I will die on that hill. Sabbath was first, Metallica took the torch from them, Pantera took it from Metallica, but who took it from Pantera? Lamb of God? No. No metal band has done it as good or better than Pantera. Anyone who knows metal music, plays metal music, or just has half a brain can deny that.

Dirty hair, raw and unfiltered. I loved those days. Music was so respected then, and left to the guys who could truly channel it. We were all high on it. You don’t realize how much it means til it’s gone.

There's just a matter of time before we know.
everything pantera ever did was fucking amazing from phils vocals to dimebags riffs fucking perfect
Im a highschool student that plays lots of guitars. I might get expelled from school tommorow and im listening to Pantera to give me courage. Thanks PanterA
Good god this riff has such a deep groove every cell in my body is adrenalized.
Pantera is the only band in the world that hits me this hard.
Greatest metal band of all time
Without a doubt.
No doubt at all there will NEVER be another band half as tight as these dudes
Yes sir

Pure Heavy Metal
no, not even close, but an amazing song and album
“NO ONE can piss on this determination.”
Fucking love that line.
Me 2 bro
This song never ever gets old FUCK YEAH! NO ONE CAN PISS ON THIS DETERMINATION!!!!!! R.I.P DIME AND VINNIE!
Hell yes 2 all dat 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Absolutely! Mouth For War is a killer song, I've always liked that one.
Without a doubt the hardest metal album of the year.
It's still hard to accept that "Dimebag Darrell" is gone....RIP, brother.
“No comprehension to fail. I vacuum the wind for my sail!” Awesome line right there!
That riff forever changed my perception of metal. When I got into this band I had mostly just been listening to Metallica and some other thrash stuff since this was early in my metal journey. But when I decided to give this album a listen, I'll never forget hearing this song for the first time and as soon as that riff hit, my mind was just blown.
This band is such a positive inspiration. Aggressive yes, listen and apply this to your life. You will rise
Thanks to these guys for saving heavy metal thru the 90`

Word... none better
The legendary band that sadly is no more! They definitely cemented their place in the history of heavy metal! R.I.P. Vinnie and Dime!
Forever with Pantera!
Whether you're walking into school, work or whatever, this is your "I am a badass, and the whole world will know it", theme song......
It should also be the "When some Lib tries to square tear down or burn the U.S flag" theme song.
WALK!
Hands down, the best metal band of the 90"s. Changed the game, forever 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Such a well done video, perfectly embodying Pantera. No frills, just heavy, raw aggression. Awesome.
His Highness, Lord of Guitar.
R.I.P Metal Legends.
Never Saw Them, Yet Forever They Live In My Mind.
That riff is so legendary even the Doom soundtrack copied it
Dude that did the soundtrack to Doom asked John Carmack what type of music they wanted in the game. He handed over a stack of cds such as Pantera, Metallica n all the heavy metal and the rest is history.
@@BuckeyeM80 I always thought the soundtrack was just based off what their radio was playing
The composer for the Doom soundtrack was also a lawyer, so he knew how much he could legally copy.
When Doom was being created, they literally handed Robert Prince a stack of CDs and said "Make it sound like this.," That isn't a paraphrase that comes directly from Robert Prince in the thousands of interviews and documentaries about it.
So he made it sound like that.
which Doom song? I tried searching youtube and got like 50 songs.
Pantera is 4ever
Revenge, I'm screaming revenge again
Wrong, I've been wrong for far too long
Been constantly so frustrated
I've moved mountains with less
When I channel my hate to productive
I don't find it hard to impress
Bones in traction
Hands break to hone raw energy
Bold and disastrous
My ears can't hear what you say to me
Hold your mouth for the war
Use it for what it's for
Speak the truth about me
Determined
Possessed, I feel a conquering will down inside me
Strength, the strength of many to crush who might stop me
My strength is in number
And my soul lies in every one
The releasing of anger can better any medicine under the sun
Bones in traction
Hands break to hone raw energy
Bold and disastrous
My ears can't hear what you say to me
Hold your mouth for the war
Use it…

one of my favorite Dime riffs. and the riff in This Love when it gets heavy. groovy as FUCK
That riff is so good
I've got goosebumps. every. fucking. time.
Pantera Kings of Metal hands down. Nothing contrived, nothing edited, nothing but the real thing from all of their collective hearts by the greatest metal band in history.
Now this is what you call a pure heavy metal genre.
Actually this is groove
Not really there is a huge amount of hard-core punk and Southern rock influence in this

He was trolling, Nirvana is a great band though.
Sepultura and Pantera ...rules the world ...in the 90'S...
Happy 50th Birthday Dimebag! Miss you every day \m/
Rock on and hail Dimebag!
same here man. .I jam Pantera as soon as I get up...and through the day also
Somebody once said the four most important metal bands were Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Metallica. Pantera has to be the fifth. They dominated the 90’s scene and completely revolutionized the genre. 🤘🤘🤘
I mean REVOLUTION IS [THEIR] NAMEEEEE hahahaha
objection! Metallica is a pop rock band
@@criztu srsly dude just because James sings and they changed their style during the 90s doesn't mean they are a pop rock band

I listen to Pantera before Sunday church service and really puts me in the mood. Angry music gives me peace
“Pantera kicks everybody’s ass.”-Beavis and Butthead
Damn str8
It's from seeing this vid on Beavis and Butthead all the way back in 1994 when I was 12 years old, is what got me into metal music.
So true LOL
These guys, like, scare chicks. -B. Head
It began when Sabbath & Priest were doing heavier rock. then Metallica, megadeth, slayer, and anthrax made it better. Then Pantera came along and made it perfect. I love all those groups, but Pantera is the one that has that perfect metal sound.
@Artur Szczepień Not really. Listen to Far Beyond Driven and Suicide note part 2. Still heavier than ever.
@Artur Szczepień Comparing to today's metal Pantera is stronger than ever. Just listen that tone , see how real they are. No one is heavierrrrrrrrr
I believe it is . Pantera is the. pinacle of metal
will do my best to fu ck the planet soon
Pure & simple, Dime was & is the greatest metal guitarist of all time,he will never be forgotten RIP.
This song literally changed my life. Turned me into a metalhead at the first note. \m/
Im a 53 yr old guitarist, that also plays bass..... but the reason i love pantera is ALL of them combined.... Phil is just so fearce on this album... my god

The late 20th century bands seriously had something against epileptic people. As someone who doesn't have epilepsy, this is one of the most bad ass music videos I've ever seen.
I’m not epileptic either, but DAMN the video for enter sandman has got to be the best embodiment of this. It just pissses me off. Cant stand looking at that video for more than a minute because it’s entirely just flashing lights
Watch 5 minutes alone, and the walk video. These guys always made sick videos
I love Pantera. They literally saved metal in the 90s
Megadeth 💀
@@pinkled4429 Megadeth was too busy bitching about Metallica
They saved my life not just metal
Ever heard of death and black metal they were also keeping metal alive
The best metal music has ever been. I will die on that hill. Sabbath was first, Metallica took the torch from them, Pantera took it from Metallica, but who took it from Pantera? Lamb of God? No. No metal band has done it as good or better than Pantera. Anyone who knows metal music, plays metal music, or just has half a brain can deny that.
SLAYER
Even though I agree with everything you said lamb of god still very very good imo
This song was my introduction to the kind of depth metal had. When you're 15 and you have no idea what you're listening to. This song is my turning point. I was a metal head looking for something, and I found it. Vulgar Display of Power. 91-92,93,94
Doom E3M1, is that you? It's nice hearing the REAL music behind one of my favorite video games.
Im still wondering how ID got away with some of the direct ripping they did
Martijn Kemperman I'm not sure. It's very blatent, but I guess it's considered fair use. It's like "What what in the butt" was portrayed by South Park, and they won a lawsuit for fair use.
+Martijn Kemperman Bobby Prince the sound guy was/is a lawyer so he knew how far he could push it without the risk of a lawsuit.
Denoy I know but the usage of the pantera song are just so obvious Im wondering how it was legal
Also E1M1 sounds a lot like Master of Puppets
One of the top shelf riffs of all time.
52 and just discovered Pantera while remodeling my farmhouse. Definately appropriate for the demo stage of the remodel...
