    This was badass.
I’m more from the 80’s punk scene in SFV but can totally relate to these stories. I played drums in a few punk bands and got to see all the great bands while they were still kinda small. The roller rink nearby had shows on the weekends. Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Social D, Minor Threat, BR all the Oxnard bands and pretty much any other touring band of the day. Then trips to Hollywood and OC.
It was such a great time.
Hung with the Fatal Error guys. By the time you guys were doing your thing I was a married union sheet metal worker doing the family thing, but the stories didn’t change much. Thanks for digging up some great memories for me.

The Escaped was the reason I ever got into Punk. I was a kid across the river in Vancouver, had a health class with Brian (he was a junior and I was a freshman) and we always talked music, when he joined he pushed y’all’s first CD “Born To Lose” on me and I dug the shit out of it. A year or so later I finally went to a show at a place called Sons of Norway, I think the line up was All Out, One Day War, The Escaped and Defiance, and it was a complete turning point for me. Y’all’s music was the soundtrack to my youth and twenty years later I still find myself listening occasionally. This was a super cool interview to listen to, maybe it’s dorky to say but thanks for being rad and making kick ass music back in the day. Changed my life, at least musically.

Man, thank you so much for the kind words and great review. I believe it was the Riffs other than Defiance at that show but I have the flier I’ll have to check. Thank you for taking the time to listen

I was working at a strip club and heard you guys were doing a show down the street so I decided to leave work to check it out. I got a few blocks down the street on foot before realizing I was only wearing a bra, booty shorts and 7 inch heels... I had to talk them out of firing me because I did the booking and wasn't "setting a good example".... Good times...
