Thank you Carol. I love how you gather all your Autumny bits in a basket ahead of time and keep it close at hand to select from as intuition moves you.❤
I have found it works for me, especially when I’m doing a video. I can’t be jumping up every five minutes. But I also do it for most of my projects gather everything together that I might need, but there’s always something I’m missing 😁
Great little haul Carol 💕 isn't it great when you find crafting supplies in charity shops!😊 love your piece today, the flowers are perfect, love the eyelash trim as the infill 👌I know what you mean about those days, today I feel like I've achieved nothing, except going and queuing up at the doctors for my flu jab. Nothing at home appealed to me so now feel like I've wasted the day 😄 nice to have you chatting to me, don't know what I'd do with out my youtube family!💕
Thanks I was very excited with my haul 😁 I really don’t like having unproductive days, it’s very frustrating , hopefully yours won’t last too long either. I look at it like I’m taking a little break and recharging my creative batteries. 🩷
Hello Carol 😊. I love your excitement over the fall colours of the threads, it made me smile. I love the other square you did too, it's very pretty! I would very much like to see your continued progress on your current square. (sorry, my hamster brain just left his cage mid thought 😅🤔)
Hi Carol. Nice that you got to go Thrifting a little bit. I’m on the road back to Florida. And it was super nice to spend some time with you during my travels.
How lucky you were to find those lovely colors in the eyelash trim ! Interesting outcome - very pretty . I’m very drawn to the colors of a particular season , also .
I know, I just couldn’t believe it when I saw the trim, knew I had to buy it and create something with it. I’m sure that there will be more experimenting 😊
Hi Carol Sheryl here from New Zealand. Love the way you chat so casually on your videos. Also love your thought process. I think about what I'm going to do too long. Haven't had much success with thrifting here. We have op shops but don't have many carboot sales.
Hi Sheryl thank you for the lovely comment I’m glad you like the chatting 😁 I try not to think about the stitching too much prefer to let it just develop. It’s difficult sometimes lol 😁🩷
It is very freeing to watch you create. So many people are afraid of doing things wrong that they are afraid to create. The use of found objects or used items takes the pressure off the crafter about costs. That you use any type of cloth that appeals to you is freeing, after hanging out with quilters who define correct as 100 percent cotton, cloth, thread etc, where as history shows people used what ever they had to create quilts.
Hi Kathy, thank you for your lovely comment ☺️ oh I’m definitely not worried about mistakes. I marvel at quilting makers for the perfection and at the same time know it’s just not for me , I love to create from what I can find 💖
Hi Carol! Your fun finds really all came together beautifully, very exciting!! Oh your Autumn square is so cozy without a heavy feeling! Your freedom in slow stitching is very contagious . Have a wonderful day🥰🍁🌸
Thank you very much, Caroline. I do so appreciate you coming over to watch. Just stitching for the joy of stitching for me is like your collage and your glue books. I do love a glue book as you know but there’s just something about fabric that’s just calling me at the moment.🩷☺️
First time viewer here and a new subscriber. I'm just enchanted with your video. I've not hand sewn since I was a teenager, many decades ago LOL. But I do have loads of fabric and all kinds of yarn and loads of embroidery thread(cotton?) that is just being stored. Thanks to your lovey video, I now have ideas on what to do with all of that stuff. 😊
Hi Carol, Love your work especially using the upholstery samples. I am starting to use the samples as well...gives you such wonderful texture. See you next week all the way from Australia where we are having a good start to spring..
Hi Kay from Australia I find them lovely to stitch on as they make a good base and you can get the needle through easily. 😁 Looking forward to seeing how it grows next week, obviously don’t have a plan 🤣🩷
Hi Kay, thank you for your question. That’s an easy one. I basically use whatever needles I can find when I thrift. Mine are all old and odd sizes as long as they go through the fabric I will use them.. 🤣🩷
It looks pretty with the autumn colours. I think I used to have some of that yarn in another colour, idk where it went? Looks good so far Carol. Needles coming undone are part of sewing, I'm always losing my needle threader, scissors, etc drives me crazy.
Thank you I think it looks really pretty too, it’s funny where things disappear to it will turn up when you want it hopefully. I’m glad I’m not the only one who is needles just keep coming undone 🤣
Just lovely that ball of yarn is - a real treasure find. Beautiful result 🌷
Thank you ☺️ yes I was so excited to find these I’ll be using them on so many projects !
Beautiful ! Love your fall colors, thanks for sharing 🪡🧵♥️
You are so welcome 🤗 🩷
Just lovely watching your creativity, and listening to you. Your spontaneous construction is most inspiring. Thank you.
Thank you for watching and letting me know you enjoyed the way I stitch 😁

I would love to see you continue with this one. The last one was so good I know this one will be great too
Thank you ☺️ I will be !
So very pretty!
Thank you! 😊

For the needle try using a knife stone sharpener. It’s the stone that hunters use to sharpen the edge if their knife.
Thanks for the tip but I don’t have one of those ! I have been using a nail file which seems to help 😁

Thank you very much 😁
Carol, try running that blunt needle through your hair about 5 times. See if that helps. Have a blessed day 💛🙏💛
Thanks for the tip I have never heard of that. Thank you, Colleen 💖
It’s so pretty!!
Thank you ☺️

I love that you were inspired to pick up your fabrics and stitch again. 😁🩷
Hi I’m new too! Great video. Just realised I have things I can play with.😍🇬🇧🐶
That’s fantastic welcome along, finding stuff to stitch with and experimenting is all part of the fun 😁

@@Stitchingwithcarol hi Carol, I would love to know what needles you use.. I am using a lot of old ones from my mums stash when I inherited it..

Have you tried the little necklaces that you can wear to keep track of your scissors? It’s kind of handy

I haven’t heard a necklace that you can wear for scissors. I don’t think I’d feel safe in them around me. I’m so clumsy LOL. 🤣
@@Stitchingwithcarolthey are just small little clips. I promise you’ll do fine
