I decided to make a pit-stop on my way down to Florida in North Carolina to visit my friend Brian Fox. Brian is absolutely crazy on his bike, 1080s, double backflips, EVERYTHING. His ankle was actually bothering him pretty badly when I was there, but he toughed it out to film this video with me, and I'm glad he did! Brian is the man.
Regarding the situation with the police, I just wanted to point out once again that we were clearly just pointing out what we felt was unjust at the skatepark in what we considered an appropriate manner. We don't encourage you to talk back to police or to give them a hard time at all. We were grateful that the lady was nice to us and did not give us a hard time, some cops would have handcuffed us. It is ridiculous that parks like this exist and exclude an entire sport, for the matter of personal issues. I was told that the people who built this park (and many other skate-only parks) purposely put in their contracts that bikes void the warranty, so towns naturally don't allow them. I personally don't believe that plastic pegs and tires do any more damage than trucks and wheel bolts hitting the ground, but the towns don't listen.
To avoid situations like this, be sure to be INVOLVED if your town is ever getting a skatepark built. If BMX riders help fund and plan the park, there is less chance of being excluded. All too often we get lazy and let the skaters go through all the legal actions of getting a park built and are surprised when they exclude us. Just some food for thought, I'd be more than happy to hear what you guys think in the comments.

It's not the tyres they are on about it's the steel pegs and handle bars that has the potential to chip the concrete making it unsafe for skate riders

The fact that bikes aren't allowed in skateparks because their rubber tyres "destroy the skatepark" but planks of wood with metal trucks slamming of the ground is ok? And if you talked the skaters before you came in like 99% of them would be chill with you coming in and riding a bike, it's just that the council don't know anything about bmx

Well bikes are also heavier... but you make a good point BMX has rubber wheels... So do skate boards but the trucks are metal and the metal clashes into the wood and tears the wood up... the BMX being heavier can fall through the wood IF the wood was weak enough beacause of the skate boards metal trucks litterally shredding the wood... thats why skaters always say "Lets shred" when they go riding LOL... and concrete though?!?!?!?! How do bikes tear up concrete thats like me taking a car to a race track and they say "Horses only" likw seriously!!!!!???? Oh well atleast atleast they had fun so... its cool I guess I just hate when crap doesnt go well because people are ignorant and think rubber breaks Concrete.... But hey this made for a good video... Just a Long way of saying this dude made a great point...
Grew up watching since I was like 12. But ever since I got my license it’s been more cars and girls than my focus on bmx….but after watching these webisodes over again you inspired me to go buy a new bike yesterday and start riding again. I really miss it, so thank you for that even if you never see this comment.

I hate when skateparks don't allow bikes, It's so fucking dumb because with plastic pegs it causes less damage then a truck.
i dont think its a damage thing, its just bikes go 3x faster than anyone else at the park so theyre dangerous if its busy or small. a massive park like this should allow them though.
***** just basing it on my local park, its tiny, just some little ledges, a quarter and a couple of fun box things. if theres just one bmx there it makes it difficult to ride. but yeh the safety thing is stupid, you can't enforce one rule without the other.

there are a lot more little kids on scooters so they generally have bad park manners, same with all kids but thats where the rep comes from. they do stuff like all line up on quarters so noone can ride them, or snake people because theyre more manouverable

I will be 52 this year and I grew up in Tampa, Fl. When I was young and I still do I take toast with butter and jelly, then I put scrabbled or fried eggs on top of that, then I put my turkey or beef sausage or turkey bacon on that. Next, I add Ketchup not catsup. It was delicious and still is.

My local skatepark has a no bikes policy, but there's also a sign that says no scooters. But cops and park workers don't care. They'll walk past a hundred kids on scooters to tell one biker that they need to go. I just wish that if rules are going to be implemented at a park, they need to ALL be followed, or ALL be broken/given lenience. So disappointing.

Got my new bike off danscomp, assemble it and ride it in the front of my house right away, front tire pops. Walks it back up the driveway, back tire pops. Goes buy two new tubes, puts them on. Rides down the driveway, back tire pops. Walks up the driveway, front tire pops. Lays bike down. Goes inside frustrated -__-
Maybe you are missing rim strips. They prevent the spokes from puncturing the tube

+Aidan Morris You could be putting the wrong amount of air in your tires. Adding too much or too little to certain tires and tubes causes them to pop easier
+Aidan Morris Do you have thistle or cactus where you live? If it isn't overpressure or missing rim strips, it could be environmental. Check the tire for tiny spikes, or sharp crap on your driveway.
Make sure the spokes aren't poking the tube

You seem like a reasonable guy, but your pegs everytime you fall pit the ground alot and cause divit and eventually holes in the concrete, and more often then not bikers are really rude. They trash our parks in Colorado the most and no one appreciates it. Keep in mind without skateboarding you wouldnt have those parks to enjoy at all for the time you get. So be grateful from that perspective.

Well you were riding in a skateboard only park, it's very likely that someone will kick you out and you were indeed respectful about it. But I must say that the reason you got kicked out was so dumb... She could have simply stated that the park was only for skaters instead of "bikes destroy parks" bullshit.
It's a shame that I see skaters who are disrespectful to BMX riders, often for no reason, because personally I think BMX is awesome and I wouldn't mind sharing a park with riders. So far I have not encountered any BMXs in a skatepark because we have none where I live, but treat me with respect, I shall do the same to you.
