I am surprised on the sharpness of the factory edges on my Kizers. Sometimes I wonder how budgets brands can consistently have sharper edges than higher end knives.
You don’t need to actually dessist the knife to see if it will function deassisted. You simply have to watch the lock bar closely when the blade closes. If the knife can be deassisted, then you will see the detent ball on the lock ball fall into a detent hole on the blade. It’s easy to see. No need to take the knife apart to find out.
ZT/Kershaw speedsafe spring will not be under tension when the blade is fully open, always open blade fully when disassembling and reassembling knife. KRYTOX GPL 203 FLUORINATED grease is the best option for lubing knife.
There is no hole in the blade for the detent ball. You can quickly determine this by watching if the lock moves toward the blade as it approaches full closed.
You guys should have seen the video from Knive Center where this guy with the red beard says the knife can't be deassistet because the spring works also as a detend! Thanks for a other great Video from my favorite tubers!
don't miss this important TECHNICAL detail: pause on their hand written chart. read slowly from bottom to top. then at the top right hand corner, notice the Frankie couldn't RESIST drawing what looks like an angry bird, but i think it's just a slightly askew feather. he's holding a knife. but not angrily.
This is why we wear eye protection on knife disassembly people. You know I tried for a good while to get advanced knife bro to wear them while he does his crazy testing. I really hope that guy doesnt loose an eye as I like his content. Maybe throw it out there when disassembling autos or assisted knives that proper ppe is actually a good thing ( The more you know...) Great video guys :)
most of mine had pretty bad edges as well. for the price and build quality, they could really use better edges from factory. funny how ive always had razor edges on chinese kershaws, but usa kershaw/zts are so hit and miss.

Love this knife. It’s my first ZT.
my first zt was the 0452cf it is amazing.
@@gemknives6229 450 ti for me
Could’ve also been titled “How to yeet a a ZT spring.”
Always nice to watch you guys! Btw, i must buy one of these PT50b Edge on up! Awesome toy!
Nice vid guys 👍 if you still have your 0350 cf try de Assisting it

I always use PTFE infused SuperLube.

Thumbs up for Frankie and Bird.
I thought for sure that spring was gone forever. I heard a “Road Runner” sound effect in my head as it left the screen.

Speed safe isn't to Bad Thanks for the Vid To assist or not assist that is the question...lol 👍👊

Didn’t read comments, so I’ll send my 2cents.🙂 it’s likely the same as my Leek, detent ball on lock bar, but no divet on blade.
Not used to watching people without Batman masks do a little disassembly and maintenance of their knives.

Looks like it doesn't have a detent without the spring.
17HMR and 22WMR, two of my all time favorites. Do you ever reprofile knives straight out of the box?

If AKBro loses an eye, or a finger, the clicks will come rolling in. The views will be huge.
I generally don't like assisted action on my 357. I can pull the trigger all by myself thank you.
😆😆👍👍
My last 4 zt’s could not shave arm hair. And I’m a huge zt fanboy.

The phone book stropped the edge. 😏
I don't usually tell youtubers how to film their vids, but you should wear safety glasses when messing with springs. They'll pop your eye out kids!
No detent ball or ramp. My Kershaw Link is the same way. Mildly infuriating
All most like a Kershaw link??😳160$ wow.not cheap.i like it.good looking knive.
Kershaw/ZT should really consider making all knives able to be deassisted
Jordan Bradley it’s just the lack of detent ball/ramp. They just need to add one in. It’s a small easy detail that will do this
@@BigShaneGillis but not everyone has the tools and knowledge to make the proper size detent hole. Not to mention placement needs to be spot on.
Jordan Bradley yeah, Ben is saying that it’s an easy job for kershaw.
👍👍👍 for Frankie
Great video keep up the great work 👍
Love you guys!👍🏻
we appreciate you watching!
Have you tried de-assisting the 0770?
the 770 is great deassisted
Love them spring assisted! Absolutely cool.
Cool design, but I just don’t dig assisted knives
I'm really thinking about making this knife my first ZT any thoughts
John Owens just be careful. Once you buy one you’ll find yourself with 10! Lol. Can’t go wrong. Great ZT for the money.
I agree with the gentleman above
Phone books.... I remember those!
😂
Is it me or the manufacturing on this knife is lacking? Especially considering the price.
It's an over built ZT with 20CV for $150, I think it's just you
Why is it so addicting to cut paper
Doesn’t look like there’s any detent at all in that thing without the spring...
Hey !!!
hey!
It looked like a kershaw auto. I forget the actual name.
The 357 doesn't come with a detent ball.
OK, I promise I won't tell Kershaw I de-assisted my ZT.
Looks like a non auto Launch 1
ZT 10mm
very intriguing 🤔
Yokwe!
I bought a 0357 and the lock stick was so Bad I sent it back. I then bought a Kershaw link in 20 cv,,, much much better.
Hit like button!!! :D

So the rumor is true.
Assisting a knife will cover for a poor action.
Assisted 🤢🤮
