Yeah, Model 2 Emulator has been out for at least over 10 years, so thankfully playing the original Daytona USA on PC has been possible for a long while. It is certainly cool to play when the PC ports [the original Saturn based one and the CE based Deluxe version] are different while Daytona 2001 [which I do like] has different music + visuals. And I don't have an Xbox 360/PS3 nor the specs to emulate the newer version lol [although I could play SEGA Racing Classic which is similar, but I prefer the faster setup with M2Emu even if the widescren isn't perfect] It was one of my favorite things to play in my old laptop even when I wasn't good at it as a kid, but I eventually learned drifting with MT, and the rest is history. Aside from playing with Tilt Steering - that was a recent discovery I heard from a WMMT player, and of course, couldn't pass up the chance to try this game out with the closest thing I have to playing with a steering wheel [as intended].
Oh wow you can play this on an emulator? I’ve only ever seen the arcade machines .
