I know for a fact, faith is not only a belief but a practice. I have been hearing God's voice also and have been reaping the rewards. Thank you Jesus!! 🙏🙌💃♥️🎉
The voice of God gives me Peace, I also stopped chatting with friends, family's, Co workers, about everything, complaining, gossiping, chatter, flattery, all the uselessness that occupy my mind, heart and soul to the exclusion of God's word, worship and praise, pray and meditation and quietly focus on spirit led living, this gives me more time to practice my faith and trust in God and no doubt that I will be able to be in the best position to connect with God and putting Him first and acknowledge Him in all the ways and believe that He will direct and straighten my paths.
We are either connected with God or not. We don't need to quiet our thoughts to hear Him. He can easily interrupt our loudest prayers and our conversations if need be. If it's God, His voice will be different than your thoughts. I have had God speak to me, through me, and give me knowledge I could not have had apart from Him to be a witness to someone , and that knowledge did not come as a thought. God has spoken loudly and clearly when He needed to get through. There were times He spoke by pointing me to a scripture - but I leaned on my own understanding .. until I got desperate enough to cry out to Him in my prayer language (didn't know what else to pray) and He even more loudly spoke to me and told me to "clean House" which He had been trying to tell me from that passage the whole time. God still gives dreams , visions etc as well, and sends His angel at times if need be to get through to you. You don't need special practices or to stop talking to other people. Of course complaining and gossiping can be a problem, flattery is ungodly, but all we need to hear from God is to live right, stay in His word (not mistranslations that pose as His word like the Passion "translation") and live in His ways. It's pretty disturbing honestly to see this guy on TBN and to see TBN supporting him and his crowd. God speaks to us mostly through His Word, but He can and does also speak to us directly when He needs to. That said, it's often NOT going to come as a "thought", and our thoughts need to be tested and brought into captivity to the obedience of Jesus Christ. Our thoughts are not God. Though there are times when He will try to get through to us and we have a feeling about something that won't go away, it's important to pray about it and ask Him to speak more clearly. But I know people who think (and the crowd this guy and his friends run with are some of them) that every thought that comes to your mind when you pray about something is God. That is just not true, and it's not true that we need to silence our minds or stop talking to people, or to ONLY focus on God to hear from Him. Meditation is only of God if it is thinking about His word, not silencing the mind. That is pagan meditation that God says to stay away from.
