- Wayne Fitzgerald created this main title art for the 1983 David Cronenberg film , it doesn't reveal itself until the very end in a slow suspenseful hauntingly beautiful opening sequence. Soundtrack Score composed and arranged by Michael Kamen.

The music for Dead Zone is so overwhelming in it's tragedy, the best music for one of the greatest Film I've ever seen.....
Nothing can compare to this masterpiece. Christopher Walken ( my favorite actor ) plays Johnny Smith so intense - it's true as someone said that he has more talent in one of his fingers than any other actor in his life!
The music, my favorite King Book, the greatest actor (who else could have played Johnny Smith better? In my opinion the TV Series is just crap ) and a wonderful but so sad story -- all in all like I said an absolutely great masterpiece!

Micheal Kamen at his best..Shades of this style is noticable on the X-Men soundtrack.Song makes me cry it's so haunting and tragic. It bears the weight of the world on it's shoulders, as it's protagonist Johnny Smith does.Also reminds me of Silence of the Lambs as well..
Yes, I agree. I am a big fan of his works. He had his own style too. Beautiful music. I never liked the tv series.
When everyone else was going to see The Big Chill (gag me), I went to see The Dead Zone TWICE! Christopher Walken should have won an Oscar here, and I thought the rest of the cast did a great job! Every winter since, the quote I love to say to this day (of course) is "The ice... is gonna break!" This is my fave Cronenberg, and my fave Walken movie for sure! Interesting how the Stephen King novel isn't quite like the movie, it sure made for an enjoyable read!
