Dirtpatcheaven Very close to that and also depends where in Florida you are.Im only a few miles from ga and it freezes here during winter into the teens at times and not all plants can tolerate that. Even from winter gardens because it doesn't stay that temperature it fluctuates hot and cold all the time. But we do have aassive growing year compared to my Tenn property and when I lived in Montana for a year. You have awesome channel.
I want to know how they managed to make the soil so dark and fertile! It must take an astounding amount of compost. I'm in St. Pete too. The soil is nearly pure sand! It sucks. I mulch like crazy. Also the squirrels dig up or eat everything.
I so enjoyed going with you thorough the large garden. Everything looked wonderful and i listened and tried to learn something from your video. Travel home safety and enjoy your time on the road my friends. ...GOD'S JOY to your family my friends.
I’m going to do this when I buy a big land because right now my mom she growing tomato next I want her to grow carrots strawberries and few more stuff we also got lemon tree that we get lemon from so no more wasting money on lemons at supermarkets
Great job John, that place is amazing. Born and raised here and I spent summers in Tampa as a kid. I never would have known of this place. Thanks for sharing. Janice
lmao,,,at 9:51mark, I noticed John zeroed in on the chick in white shorts with a baby on her shoulders, coming and going. at least it was done nonchalantly.
Thank you for sharing your experiences .. how do you manage gardening in extreme mosquito areas? i am mosquito magnet and planning to move to florida but don’t want to give up gardening just because mosquitos/pests or humidity - thanks
Surround the tomato plants with French Marigolds, it will drive the bad nematodes away from the roots, will do it every time, remember 'French' has the nasty taste they don't like
Beautiful garden ❣️ But I think they need put much more mulch covering the soil... Cover the soil , and cover completely! All the garden .. cover cover and cover .. Maybe need to plant more bananas 🍌 cassava.. for cute and use the organic material for cover the soil... And.. everyone near .. bringing the pineapple crowns 👑 and plant.. 😍👍🏻🌱🌾🍄
"Spent a lot of money on soil testing". What??? Please send your soil samples to Waters Agricultural in Camilla, GA. They're super affordable and you get paper and digital files in return. I think I paid $7 a sample for 15 samples and I'm a very satisfied customer of theirs.
This is a very interesting and very informative video. I do thank you for sharing. I live in Clearwater, FL. I have hard time to grow anything here. Do you grow all these all year long? How you do to manage the high temperatures for the 9 to 10 months of the year?
I am a truck driver I’m looking for land that I can Homestead on and do off grid Living preferably something without many building restrictions and in an area that I can grow all the tropical fruits I do not need to be anywhere near the ocean do you know of any area where the land is very reasonable the meet my criteria
Glad you've changed your mind about using the rabbits for meat. The wire flooring is bad for their feet though - It will cause store hocks, and they need more space. A hutch is not sufficient housing.
Most optimistic video concerning growing veggies/plants in Florida! Thank you!
Florida has the same climate as our place so it doesn't surprise me how much food they can grow. Lovely garden!
365-growing days per year. Im so jealous!

They worked very hard to achieve this kind of success our soils are very sandy and need much amendments. Not easy to grow veggies here..
Was not aware of this garden hostel in St Pete, thanks for the tour!
Brings my heart joy. Thank you.

Morenga grows and overwinters for us in USDA Zone 8b. It may not get huge but we can grow it.

Does anyone know, can you eat the leaves of the tropical sage? Mine grow wild and I throw seeds during long walks, for the bees and butterflies.
You shouldn’t spend a lot of money for soil testing. The university does it for almost nothing.
Where is this? How do I get info about visiting?
Send me the link where to sign please
Where in Florida is this????

"We changed our minds about them" rabbits shreik when killing them and i honestly don't like the meat that much. Chickens are more essential
