After much contemplation at 3am (as one does), I have come away with a new meaning for this song. Of course there’s the element of that person that won’t leave you but I also think (at least in my case) that my relationship with her was the most selfless I’ll ever be and ever will be. I was selfless to the point of being a little destructive to myself but I have learned my lesson. That’s all part of it. She got the best of me but that doesn’t mean whoever in the future won’t get all of me.

@@kylenorris7537 correct!! this is the radio version. I had the pleasure of seeing him at a dive bar in San Antonio before he got his big break and he sang a different version of this song. He said something along the lines of “ this isn’t finished yet but when we get it right, it’s going to be a number one hit “. Then he laughed and said I’m just joking, but it would be a dream come true to have a number one song on the radio some day. He’s had how many number one hits now? It absolutely blows my mind that the people at the voice didn’t give him a chance! I know there have been several people who have tried out for shows like idol and the voice who never even made it to the actual judges on the show. But ended up making it big. But I knew this kid was going places the moment he opened his mouth that night. Everyone in the audience looked at him funny and wasn’t really paying attention, I’m assuming because of his appearance. But as soon as he started singing. The dance floor went from empty to crowded! Easily one of the best in person performances I’ve ever seen!!
