Seriously, getting an ISP to change your IP address is such a pain in the ass. I worked for an ISP (in Canada) and we had this request often and there was next to nothing that could be done without escalating the issue up the chain to a much higher team and good luck with that. This is Dynamic IP addresses too. Static would just require a surcharge or something (I didn't deal with that). I was only able to get a new Dynamic IP address assigned to a customer with a lot of effort. Basically I have to destroy the Modem record and recreate it. It has a very small chance of happening but it's more likely to happen if the modem is unplugged for at least 30 minutes I believe. And that's what I had to do. Unplug the modem, destroy the modem record, wait thirty minutes, recreate the modem record and then ask the customer to plug the modem back in. That was an extreme case that included scammers harassing an old lady with her IP address. Unfortunately I was already too late and she'd given them over $15k and the family had to sell off her assets and put her in a home. Having dedicated servers would fix much more than just ip leaks. It would fix lag, ip leaking, and more importantly it would with the proper anti cheat options would fix things like modders being able to spawn anything in. Just like a bunch of other games it would check if the item that they are trying to spawn in was server-side instead of just client side. Meaning they cant spawn in money, they couldn't stick props to your player from a TV to a campfire that is always killing you and they couldn't spawn in vehicles either. For Christ's sake roblox has the basic server-side prop protection that gta online doesn't.

This is the video that needed to be made... I unashamedly enjoy GTA too as a level 1000+ with nearly 600 days played online. I had to get a VPN and convince my associate she needed as well just so we could play the game. We play at a high level which bothers others so we were constantly getting ddos and were both on console. Thanks for this Muta!
Rank 1000 with 600 days played you must mess around alot on GTA Online because I have Rank 540 with 130 days played i played about 3120 hours ÷ 540 rank = Around 6 Hours so I rank up about 4 times every 24 hours i play you say you have around rank 1000 so 600 days 14,400 hours ÷ 1000 = you rank up 2 times per 24 hours of playing if ranked up 3x or 4x 5x per 24 hours of playing you would have between 3000-5000 Rank so i believe for the rank you have you shouldn't have 600 days played but around 250 days played you must be just afk on the tv or dont turn off the game mabe you enjoy what you work hard getting so it make sense to spend 350 days driving flying or walking around in whatever you spend 250 days working towards so good for you.

After that, I concentrated on free roam. Grinding my passive businesses and turning the tide on try hards, learning 'the game within the game' so to speak. I fight much more when I'm with my friends. Otherwise I keep to myself, make outfits, drive, set goals like 250 car meet level for the shoes, etc Get the alien egg mission ( 600 Bunker resupplies ) & try to interact with others which is always rolling the dice. I had the Infamous-Menu which was basically the best anti-troll menu out there and this is the only menu I know that did something good. Of yourse you could do stupid shit with it but it had an inbuild detection system so you could see if someone was using a mod menu too and if someone tried to explode the whole lobby, it just prevented it so everybody could keep playing without knowing someone tried to piss them off. It also didn't let you freeze random players but unlocked the action only on someone that is doing bullshit with another menu trying to piss others off and let me troll them so they just leave the lobby or need to restart because it just overwrote everything they tried. I loved it for being able to finally play with friends without having to rejoin every 10 minutes because we just wanted to chill a bit or do some missions until rockstar sued them and the programmer turned it off. Of course it's nice that they overall try to get menus off the game but there will always be some guy making his own menu and selling it under the radar and it would probably make more sense if they got an actual working anti cheat for the online mode.

The crazy thing is that a lot of players buy these mod menus to protect themselves from other players with mod menus, it's a vicious cycle that never ends and those scumbag menu creators are making serious money from it, also dedicated servers would probably help with all the glitches like godmode on consoles. this game online is beyond broken it's become unplayable, every lobbies has at least 1 or 2 toxic modders in it, Rockstar are absolute trash for not fixing this and yet this game is still in the top 10 most played game on steam so the "community" is also to blame for feeding that monster.
11:49 yes and no. The person posting on the amongus subreddit probably didn't know what he was talking about, but it's possible for a bad actor to social engineer an ISP (especially less common ISPs in less major countries) and trick them into revealing a LOT of information about you. If the ISP knows the IP address and the time of using that IP address, they can be compelled to disclose specific addresses, names, and phone numbers.

In the UK, one of the full fibre ISPs the government is subsidizing provides you with a £200/$275 Linksys WiFi mesh network that lets you release your IP without even restarting the router! Love this ISP!
what a horrible ISP you have. I work for an ISP in norway and our 1st line customer support could give you a new IP in a couple of minutes. Depending on the solution the ISP use, your IP might be bound to the mac of your router. If you haven't tried yet, try connecting your PC directly to your isp's fiber converter or modem and see if it gets a new IP. If it does and if you can change your mac on your router do that as a work around. It still baffles my mind they can't give you a new ip lease :/ A permanent public IP over DHCP is a service we sell to our customers :p

Warframe is a free (huge) multiplayer game (borderline MMO imo), and uses P2P. Idk if they do it well, but it's annoying when the host disconnects and everything in the map resets and everyone has to reload everything because there's a new host.
No they don't do it well at all, a disconnect from the host can lead to you failing or just outright disconnect from the mission that you might have spent almost an hour doing, getting nothing for the time spent at all. If the host is laggy, everything is laggy which happens quite often. Used to be much worse though. I hated the whole P2P thing. The combination of that and the rampant "hacking" is why I stopped playing. Shame as I love the game but get so frustrated with people coming in and killing everyone on the server over and over then move to next server and someone's spawning piles of tanks all over the place.

It feels like Rockstar really shouldn't be able to do nothing about this. Im not legal megamind but it feels like they should be in some legal trouble for the privacy leaking
The terms of service probably protects them for anything doesn’t it?

@@romeofernandez8608 Then again Rockstar failed to do the bare minimum of IP protection and privacy, to the point where Muta didn't even need to use any hacks to view everyone's IP address. I feel like this could be considered negligence.

For Christ's sake roblox has the basic server-side prop protection that gta online doesn't.
p2p reduces lag in gta online because there’s so much data being sent

@@Maxmartin12355 Yes, 598 days played, 14,352 hours in game. I realize my GTA numbers are staggering. Most the time I get messages from people thinking my account is fake but you are correct: A lot of time spent online. I started out as a racer and got my first 300 levels extremely quick. Its such a fun game! I have been immersed there nearly 5 years and Covid certainly set what was already an obsession in time consumption over the edge... Cheers!
In Australia, Telstra gives everyone Dynamic IPs and you have to pay an extra $10/mth for a static one. Its actually annoying in my case.
@DOXER "extra" 10 dollars a month
bro I'm getting royally fucked by Telstra cause I'm paying for internet speeds I don't even get, they're also raising my fees again by 9 bucks in a few months when the contact renews , and I can't do shit about it cause they have an exclusivity deal ( i can't remember the term for it) in part of my neighbourhood, where they are the only isp available to have connected and the area of exclusivity is so small it pisses me off, it is quite literally three streets and i live in the middle of it, NBN is a fucken joke.
@@Epictaco45 yea it seems in some areas that Telstra/NBN speeds are ass. My speeds are fine (most of the time) but speeds can be random some times.
You guys do anything fun with it?

Aaahh, memories of being the "host" back in Halo 3 days. Good times.

So ready to see ep 5 with your collaboration.
In the UK, one of the full fibre ISPs the government is subsidizing provides you with a £200/$275 Linksys WiFi mesh network that lets you release your IP without even restarting the router! Love this ISP!
It's amazing that this UNACEPPTABLE security risk is ignored by the community, and hence by Rockstar
"Do I play APB Reloaded?"
Dude... that's some memories right there.
what a horrible ISP you have.
Even if it takes only four minutes it still sucks to have to call your isp because of some ultra douche thinking he’s a hackerman
I don't disagree. I hate having to call companies, but if you need it changed you do what you have to and it should not be impossible. The root problems is obviously companies who don't do anything to protect their customers. Like rockstar.
Is this an advertisement for your ISP? :))
Lol i'm curious though, what's the name of it?
Same here in Belgium, you have to pay a premium for a permanent static IP, usually only meant for business customers.

Haha yeah it kinda surprised me, the game was my childhood, sadly the game is dead. I believe the APB concept is really awesome and nextgen, the seamless missions while still being in the open world, its crazy how that game was back in 2009/2011, it makes GTA5 look outdated in terms of matchmaking and clothing/customization.
Warframe is a free (huge) multiplayer game (borderline MMO imo), and uses P2P. Idk if they do it well, but it's annoying when the host disconnects and everything in the map resets and everyone has to reload everything because there's a new host.
Steve sold his soul long ago
No they don't do it well at all, a disconnect from the host can lead to you failing or just outright disconnect from the mission that you might have spent almost an hour doing, getting nothing for the time spent at all. If the host is laggy, everything is laggy which happens quite often. Used to be much worse though. When people complain, DE promise to make more things in the game client sided to avoid the backlash but they never do what they promise so don't get your hopes up.
