oh my ..this story makes me cry. GS are special dogs. I read about a GS dog who helped a old man who got confused in a blizzard. His wife sent out the GS dog who guided him back to the house. Sadie is a great dog and glad his dog watched him to know cell phone is vital which saved his life.
I think that’s true. I’ve always adopted large and very large dogs; the giants have been the most gentle. My children are adults now, but one of our RBARI rescues, a Yellow Lab, put up with a lot of torture from the toddlers. But she still adored those kids. As she began to get old and slow down, the kids switched places and became her caretakers.
@@wotan10950 Thank you for saying that. Some people who have only had small dogs are afraid of my sweet baby Cavala. She’s a Great Dane yet one of the gentlest creatures I’ve ever known. She was a rescue too. Your Lab sounds adorable. I’ve never met a Lab I wasn’t crazy about. I just wish they all lived longer then they would be perfect. I’m glad your children became caretakers. They probably adored your Lab. Best thing is for children to be brought up with dogs I think.
German Shepherds are very smart I had my German shepherd tell me that my pool pump filter housing exploded and he knew that was not normal He came inside the house like Lassie and barking at me and making me follow him
Of our many rescues, we adopted a shepherd who was very sensitive and sweet. To our shock, she developed hemangiosarcoma at only age ten, and we sadly had to put her down.
She acts like she’s been trained. Maybe as a service dog? Search and rescue? I have never seen a dog watching their owner with quite that level of intensity. Sad whoever got rid of her. Glad to see it worked out and he’s well. Truly a loyal friend!
For many of us, our dogs are simply one part of our world. But for our dogs, we are their world. I agree with David below who stated: "If every day we could be the person our dog believes we are, what a world we would live in."
When I was 12 my father had a stroke. He woke up and collapsed on the bedroom floor. My oldest sister found him in the afternoon when she came home from school. But it was too late and he was already in a coma that lasted two weeks before he passed away.
an event like this at age 12 is exceptionally traumatic. do not underestimate the impact it has had on you. i had a similar experience at 12. at age 30, I went for acupuncture for some health concerns. a side effect was helping me to recover from trauma [18 yrs later]. a doctor would not have been able to do what the practitioner did for me.
Thank you for sharing. The definition of the Narrow Path is this: Faith in Jesus Christ and FOLLOW EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS AND GODS COMMANDMENTS. It's that simple. It is not hard. But very few find it. Many, instead, want to only follow what is convenient to them. God wants you to be OBEDIENT. This is the Narrow Path. Obedience to ALL his commands. He is not looking for "good' people to let into the Kingdom of God, He is looking for Obedient souls. Be Obedient. Repent for all your sins, continue to repent for each sin daily and turn from them, don't live in them. Love God with all your heart, mind and strength. Praise him. Read his Word daily to truly understand who God is and seek him out. Pray.
If every day we could be the person our dog believes we are, what a world we would live in.
Well said!
Steve, you constantly remind us that the world is good. From the whole of my heart, Thank You.

Anyone who has experienced the love and loyalty of a dog knows the answer to the question, "Are dogs really man's best friend?"
Jane Pauley has mastered asking stupid questions.
Yes! Unconditional love
@juanka galindo - Does it really matter? They love us, we love them.
*Sometimes, your pet picks you. 💗*
*We Don't Choose Our Pets, They Choose Us. 🥰*
So true. Every dog we have adopted has rescued us many times over.
Our best friends - yes there is NO question ! A dog comes into your life to “ do the job “ that NO ONE else can do 💜
they rescued each other - the affection between them is sky high - loved seeing the rapport between them-

A couple years ago a GS guided a cop car to a house fire in Alaska. There’s clips of it on TH-cam.
What a blessing this one is. Every dog is. Sadie is an angel.
What a wonderful story that he gave her a chance and thank god he did!!!! She saved him
German Shepherds are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and fiercely protective nature. I'm so glad that they found each other!
Thanks again, Steve. Your stories are always the best way to begin Sunday.
I second that
Sadie is a smart-strong Jersey Girl!
Aww, Sadie, what a great dog!
Dogs are better than man’s best friend. The big dogs are many times gentler than smaller dogs, but they’re all wonderful.

ANGELS ARE REAL. They're all around us in the form of Dogs, Cats, Horses and every other animal ON EARTH. I know.......I've had 3 of them in my life!!
