Fajnie jest przypomnieć sobie ten niesamowity koncert w Dolinie Charlotty. Wykonanie Awaken na żywo mimo drobnych potknięć powalało na kolana. Dzięki rychbudzynski za przypomnienie tych wspaniałych chwil.
I saw a show from the 1978 'Tormato' tour as well. I've seen them multiple times more recently in the Chicago area. Also saw a show in August 2014 in Grand Prairie, Texas just months before Chris passed away.
Awaken é uma grande viagem, quando escuto sinto que estou nas nuvens, me desligo de tudo, é uma grande obra prima de Jon Anderson, o líder do Yes, é extremamente fantástica!
I feel for Rabin. Even though it should be easy as pie, when you're soloing over a "round trip" of the circle of fifths like in "Awaken," it's too easy to get confused even though you know exactly where it's going. Great performance even with the slight flubs, though. The ARW performances of "Awaken" towards the end of their last tour were the best performances of "Awaken" by any Yes-related group, even those with Howe or even on the tour for the album the song was originally on (Going for the One in 77). High praise from me, considering how much of a Howe fanboy I am.

The 2003 live version you can find on TH-cam is infinitely better….though to be fair, it is professionally filmed and recorded. This is a fantastic piece of music that needs quality on every aspect.
The problem here is Rabin - he is playing along. I don't mean that he should play Howe's part note for note but there some parts in the song that require just that. Not a good version of Awaken...
Steve Howe single-handedly pushed this song into stardom originally. Swing and a miss. Sorry Jon. I wouldn't even have attempted this song without him.
@@stevennovakovich2525 Yup, I have. Steve still added that "something" that made it magical that they missed out on there too. Steve's steel guitar. th-cam.com/video/CwspoyRdeV0/w-d-xo.html
ARW had its flaws but they did get much better over time and sounded much more like Yes than the current official version. I think your descriptions are more accurate of them.
Call the band what you will it’s still the best music on the planet.
I saw Yes in the 70’s. They are just amazing. It’s sad that so many original members have passed away. They gave us a lot of great music.
One of the top ten Yes songs.
Yep.

I saw yes do a 45 minute version of awaken at universal amphitheater it was an awakening!

This is Yes!
no
Keep dreaming
@Modern Walking Trevor Rabin was a glass of water in the ocean music of YES. Steve Hoowe is YES

just so complex even with today's technology but, that bass player has it
I used to be, but Howe isn't a quarter of the guitarist he used to be. Can't listen/watch anything he's done in the last few years - just grim.
@@robinwatson4282 Even at only 25%, Howe is still so much better than Rabin.
@@nonrepublicrat Kind of depends on what is being played. Howe is a shadow of his former self.

They should make a new album. Just as Yes as “Yes” is now. Right? Both great.
I like Rabinowitz's chord-progression take on Howe's muse. Excellente gentlemen. See you in 2019 in Nippon!
Tsnore well that is Trevor's real last name.
RABIN...
@@designerlarry so what's the point?
Rabinowitz? Do you mean Trevor Rabin?
Despite the title, they did not tour as Yes. They toured as ARW. Great show though. Saw them in Vegas.
splendido assolutamente maurizio ancona
Trevor was never able to play this Howie guitar lines properly
He ist much better
16:43 do they have Toni Levin playing drums? :-0
Rick needs few more keyboards!
Who's the wonderful drummer?

He is simply overwhelmed, By far.
@@tomschmidt4355 He is too lazy to learn the guitar parts 😂
Is that Groucho on drums?
Yes

Anderson and Wakeman? Yes. Everything else here? No.
this is a hot mess I'm sad to say
Trust me... It's just the bad iPhone audio. I have the blu ray of this same arrangement & it's amazing.
Still love Trevor Rabin, he has also worked on many movie soundtracks
I’ll take a hot mess over the dumpster fire which is the current Yes.
Ain’t nothing like the real thing.
I saw this performance live and loved it

Have you seen the TodMobile 'Live in Iceland' video doing 'Awaken'? It's pretty darn good. Howe wasn't there and it was fine.

Sorry but that’s not Yes!
What a messed-up performance. Full of padding and directionless playing. Taking all the beauty out of the original version. Dreadful!

A good way to destroy a song. Shame.
What a mess!
The body language and intonation of the not origin members are terrible. Close to masterclass is for yessongs not enough as shown here.
Без СТИВА ХАУ нет.
