This is a prime example of why all officials should have to have press conferences after the game just like the players and coaches. They should have to explain every call they made in detail.
I would agree with this.... If the leagues changed their rules to make refs full time. Billion dollar leagues and refs still need to work another job to make a living. Pay them enough to be full time then train them and hold them accountable.
Joey Crawford is such a disgrace hahaha literally ejecting a player because he got his feelings hurt. Lookin like a old bootleg version of Agent 47 from Hitman.
I'm a Mavs fan, and this was one of the worst ejections I've ever seen. Joey Crawford is most certainly NOT, "one of the best" referees in the history of the game. The only thing he's better at than other refs is lasting for 30+ years. Nothing else. He constantly makes himself the center of attention in games, which is the cardinal sin of officials.
@EthaJeffaP_68 I mean, if you're a ref and you felt like TD was trashtalking about you to his teammates, you probably deserve it lol. TD rarely acts like that too.
To be honest, at that time no one had noticed Crawford's idiocy, and he was the most seasoned referee in the league, only after he ejected one of the most behaved player in the league (Duncan) that people noticed how Crawford acted on the court with abuse of power
Why are they always saying Crawford (was), "one of the best in the business," when every highlight you ever see of him he's acting like an old, cranky thin-skinned ref with a quick whistle? I don't get it.
because they are all trying to keep their jobs, they know hes biggest moron in whole universe when it comes to officiating but giving him compliment every now and then goes a long way for your career. like one comment said and I quote "People call him the best in the business, who got ruined by his actions in the Tim Duncan issue... No... He has always been consistently making moronic calls and is overall one of the worst refs in NBA history... Thank you, Joey Crawford, for getting your knee injury and finally retiring... To be fair, a ref shouldnt ever be the focus of a highlight unless it is something where the ref fucks up. It's like you don't notice when a room is clean but you definitely will notice if there's dirt all over the floor.
You're asking that question in a league that doesn't hold its ref accountable in any regard and fines anyone who criticizes the refs while doing nothing but empowering the trash quality of refereeing

1 ply isn’t that soft, Big Shoots.
Look at Tony Parker's expression looking like "how dare you"
Lol
Despite it is a weird and funny situations.
Remember there are two things to learn:
1. Some people just dislike you and will find ways to give you hard time or put in fault.
2. If this happens to you, just shake it off and smile like Duncan. Don’t need to fight back, and show some peace ✌️ signs when “peace out”.
I like how the announcers try to justify the call like it is a good call 😂
Unreal KentMurphy
Mike Breen alllllways does that shit. hes a kiss ass.
@@supermike6315 Is there another word for kiss ass??

Tony parkers reaction was priceless
Now we have Draymond ejected for talking to his own teammate
Came here after seeing that clip 😂😂😂
@@frederikgauthier3594 me too

Me too hahahaha. Was looking for this comment
“Duncan is laughing…Joe Crawford is not laughing”
😂
Lol
Coached should've pulled the whole team off the floor.
Dude, I was thinking eh exact same thing.
Right
With the quickness.
I'm surprised Popovich didn't.
@@jasondyrkacz8270 i know i would’ve done it, but this prolly couldn’t happen in pro sports cus they would for sure have to speak to the owner first
I love the innocent face of Tim Duncan laughing to the referee 🤣
It's 2019 already and this clip still makes me laugh.
It's almost 2023, still funny as fuck
@@tellurius4951 it’s now 2023 and it’s still hilarious
I still fall of the bed laughing bro 🤣
@@ironcityrailfan8467I’m in tears cause it was Duncan imagine kawhi face if it was him 😂😂
Careful, you don't want to get permanently banned by the NBA from attending NBA games by laughing this video. You could get reported.
Ref! There's fist fight between players!
Ref: Duncan! You out!
Not even a spurs fan, but it was one of the most satisfying things to see Joey Crawford suspended for a year and Tim go on to win the title.
Joey Crawford does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.
I REPEAT.
Joey Crawford does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.
Anonymous Wombat especially after this like wtf you eject somebody for laughing
Joey Crawford is the greatest referee of all time probably in any sport tbh
I agreed. Joey is from dallas, that's why he favored mavs over spurs always. This game would've gave spurs number 1 seed in nba that year.
Wait, so those soft refs had that kind of recognition too? Lol 😂
What hall of fame? Refs don’t need that
Absolutely some of the worst calls I've ever seen by a referee in ANY sport. Crawford should've been kicked out of the league for crap like this.
T up the ref
and they say miami gets bullshit calls
Alex lozano
Yeah, I used to tell a friend of mine all the time whenever he would mention Miami getting bullshit calls, "talk to me when Lebron or D-Wade gets ejected from a game for laughing while sitting on the bench."
he gets payed to do that stuff
Well he got banned from officiating in the playoffs that year.
I'm here after Luka gets a tech for talking to his teammate
Anyone else here because Tim Duncan just retired?
me bro! I love him so much :')
Nope. Who does that?
here!
I'm here! 👍😂

0:25-0:30 that's a sick camera angle. Why don't they do that anymore
FIBA doing this
FIBA claimed the rights to that camera angle
Get the league pass

that Duncan's face after the second foul call was priceless lmao
If I'm not mistaken, didn't SA win this game?
They did
Michael Lunde David Vaughn Thank god.
Joey Crawford's bookies must have been really upset about that!
thexalon Mark Cuban was mad that he didn't get more return on his investment in Joey.
They lost. 91-86.
Legend has it Tim Duncan is sitting at home right now... and just got a Technical Foul
Lmao
If you watching Duncan on the bench how you watching the game??
Rasheed Wallace getting ejected for staring: Finally a worthy opponent
I can’t even tell you which was worse lol these are the 2 going for the crown though!
Rasheed Wallace after watching this: This is some bullshit.
Well, I can understand Rasheed Wallace's ejection. He was clearly told NOT to do that. And, the dumbass did that on purpose to antagonize the official. He got what he deserved.
We all got GRUMPY days,
but Joey was OUT OF CONTROL.
Should've been FiRED.
so... the guy just ejected one of the most low profile players in the history of the game for laughing... and the guys calling the match have the nerve to say that Crawford is one of the best refs in the league??? wtf?!?!
"Low profile player". Really?
But yeah, i don't think Joey Crawford is one of the best.
@@nachoalvarez7171 do you know what low profile means??
@@spdutahraptor777 Yes i do.
@@nachoalvarez7171 seems like you don't
@@velijandro now i've realized
Crawford was fined 100k and suspended for the rest of the season for this, at least Stern had balls to punish the refs if they acted out of line.
Too bad he didn't get fired.
Goodbye, Big Fundamentals. The league will miss you #GPFOAT
Be glad this game wasn't in San Antonio. Joey Crawford makes that call and then doesn't make it out of alive.
"Joey Crawford is one of the best in the history of the game"...haha holy shit what a statement.
Seriously, Mike Breen is a fucking goon.
Thought that was a tired Dana White on the thumbnail
Joey Crawford is like the teacher in class that yells at you for no reason

WHY IS LAUGHING ILLEGAL IN NBA
oh yeah I forgot.......joe crawford
Back when rigging the NBA games were a lot less complicated
The best thing in this video:
- Tony Parkers reaction
Crawford was a clown for this. Tim Duncan was always a class act I’m far from a Spurs fan but this was the most outrageous ejection ever.
Joey Crawford would make a horrible police officer.
I've never herd of a good "police officer"
@@Drip_4311 ha, ha. i'm laughing. then again ...
He would make a regular police officer
