    I was having this problem with my new KO2's on my Power Wagon. It was hard to control at freeway speeds and would jump side to side when hitting ridges. Very scary on tight lanes. I found this video and I'll say with all honesty this video has been one of the most helpful videos i've ever used. I changed my tire pressure from 60 psi on the front to 45 and 43 on the rear and in 10 minutes I had a perfect ride and control! Thanks for making this video and educating me!

      60 psi on KO2's ? Holy shit dude. Even 45 is crazy. I keep my Nitto RG's at 22 cold.

      @@hakenkreuz7076 I FOLLOWED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY AND FOUND THAT A PERFECT WIPE STRAIGHT ACROSS THE TIRE SURFACE WAS AT THE 45 PSI ON FRONTS AND 42 PSI ON THE REARS. I WOULD LIKE TO RUN THEM A LITTLE LESS BUT I DONT WANT TO WEAR THEM OUT ON THE OUTSIDES OF THE TREADS. THE TIRES ARE MARKED 60 PSI MAX PRESSURE ON THE TIRES BUT WITH THEM AT THAT THE TRUCK BOUNCES LIKE A BEACH BALL! THANKS AGAIN......

    This the best, most precise, and demonstrative video I could find. Thank you.

    The load inflation tables should produce the same result. I would think that if they don't then they are wrong.
    Off road pressures can be tougher to optimize. What has worked well for me recently is to do what i call a curb test. I will drive up a (preferably sharp cornered) curb until my tread is directly on top of the corner and personally, im expecting about 50% sidewall compression (arbitrarily) on this extreme test which should essentially ensure that would be at a good pressure and not so low that I would bang a rim on a rock. You could use a rock or a brick as well. I wound up using 2 psi less on my most recent trail run as a result of this test and the outcome was phenomenal.
    Believe it or not , the result landed on 24 psi for trail pressure (im on 265 65 17 metric tires, not LT tires) with a total loaded vehicle weight of about 4500 lbs and the grip was phenomenal.
    Ive tried 20 psi before and too much aidewall hits the trail.

    Heck you can do that with your street tires too.

    What was the recommended door tire pressure compared to the 32psi that was ideal?

    Man bought Cooper STT Pros for my 2021 power wagon. 315/70/17 and tire place set them at max pressure of 65 psi. We'll do the chalk test ASAP. It just makes sense. Thank you.

    What he should have mentioned is that you should be doing this to the rear as well. If the rear is lighter than the front you will need a different psi to achieve the same full contact.

    You made huge jumps in psi. What if u did 30,35 and 40. Or difference between your 32 and 30 and 35. Not trying to b a jerk but I need to do mine and want to get it right. Thanks

    • @tylerdubois9020
      @tylerdubois9020 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the video was kind of dumb, 20 psi difference is huge.

    • @BornRaisedInCSA
      @BornRaisedInCSA 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The huge jump was intended to go from one extreme to another to clearly show the difference between the two. You can obviously spend as much time as you want to try and find the pressure that works best.

    Just bought my first jeep has 35s on it. I noticed 2 valve stems on the tire. Why 2. One inside other outside of rim.

      One is probably larger for letting air out of the tire faster for offloading.

    I have size 35” tires on my jeep jk , the pressure on tire says 80 lbs. what should the tire pressure be for normal driving ?

    • @alexmuela92
      @alexmuela92 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      35-40 psi if they are lt tires

    • @cg9608
      @cg9608 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should do this chalk test like in the video lol. But my 33" Falken Wildpeaks At3Ws are 42psi front and 40psi rear. I have them on my f150 that is mainly always in RWD, which is why the rears are lower psi because they accelerate which causes the tire to expand slightly.

    • @americanpatriot2.06
      @americanpatriot2.06 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      80psi on the sidewall of the tire is the max psi the tire can handle before the materials fail. As other commenters stated, use the chalk method to determine what works best for your vehicle. The weight of the vehicle will have different affects on how the tire sits, so the psi may vary between front and rear. It also depends on the brand and the type of tire.

    Yeah but what about when your cornering? Wouldn't that mean if the chalk line is wearing evenly across the tread while driving in a straight line, when you start to corner the chalk is going to wear inconsistently on the outside?

    Seems like the manufacturers recommendation would be fine. No way they would recommend 10 or 50psi in that thing.

    That's not effective on all mud tires though, like the atturro trail blade MT is ment to ride on the center more, and the outside lugs don't wear as bad, especially on pavement and highway driving it not as loud, the trail blade MT is crowned for this purpose

      @mikerellinger15 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just had the Arturo MT 35” tires installed on my truck. I noticed the middle lugs wore the “tits” off first. There’s definitely a noticeable curvature to the tire. Is this normal for these? I’m at 40psi
