- 'King Charles Enjoys Tea and Cakes with WW2 RAF Veterans'
King Charles today visited RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire where he enjoyed tea and cakes with some of the veterans at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The King also took time to look inside a Lancaster Bomber plane before signing the visitors book and posing for a group photograph with veterans and service people. Report by Matt Blair.

When that veteran was helped to stand up from his wheelchair to greet KC I got a bit teary eyed. Such a huge sign of respect to the King. Good on the King for returning the respect.
I so agree. You could see the effort and toll that it took on the gentleman, but he was determined to show his respect for his King. I wish that all of our future generations would be as respectful to each other.
Yes, and he refused to sit until the Sovereign did so. Quite a class act!
Although he didn't insist the poor fellow sit down.
Heartwarming. The royal family fulfil an important role that politicians just can't.
I love that our Forces swear allegiance to the Monarch and not the Government !
@@jillosler9353 In the US, the forces swear allegiance to uphold the Constitution, not the "government" or the flag, contrary to Facebook posts. A key distinction that is just like the UK.
I'm willing to do anything to work for the Royal Family! I know that they are the most objective and wise of all people! And I have not seen anyone more objective, more logical and wiser than myself! There is no place for me anywhere, only among the most reasonable! I see how gramatically the power of the Royal Family over the whole world is hidden!
At the age of 22, for 4 years I became a close and round-the-clock friend, recruiter, assistant, adviser, security guard, accompanying the son of the most powerful man in the Kirov region (4-time State Duma deputy and local Berezovsky). I was born in a fairly ordinary non-Jewish family, had no higher education and work experience, I was just born special, and a philosopher, super thoughtful and independent in decision-making, constantly asked deeper questions than everyone, developed objectivity, logic.
Imagine Biden trying to preform this task🤮
Fartwarming - RF is nonessential business
This is so touching and lovely. The last of a magnificent generation.
0:20 the way he held her hand while listening to her story is very heartwarming. He’s such a lovely and kind man who genuinely cares ❤❤❤
Deepest RESPECT to the veterans who defeated Hitler's evil . These senior men and women fought with their lives for a freedom enjoyed by newer generations. Thank you Veterans where ever in the world you may be. Were it not for you - we would not be here.
Very well said!
Amen and God bless all of you💖💜🌹

Well said indeed. And thoughts to all those who didn't make it and we never got to meet.
@@skullbob1591 You were fortunate to obtain employment from the Kirov region big wig with no work experience.
What a great thing of the King to do 😊
Not my King.
@@darleneo343 Who is your King then?
I have such a deep admiration to those veterans and to live to such an age must be such an incredible thing to witness. I’m glad the King is visiting these great people, he seemed to bring them much joy. May God bless them and the King.
They must all be somewhere around one hundred. My father was a Rifle Brigade officer during the war, and he wasn't quite old enough to join in 1939, but did in 1941. He would have turned one hundred earlier this year.
@@TheGoldielover Definitely, they are all in their 90s. The actual Battle of Britain took place from July to October 1940, 83 years ago. I am sure some lied about their age as they did in WWI. Of course, all of these RAF veterans are probably from the entire WWII era. The war ended 78 years ago, which makes it ancient history for young people today.

That's not going to happen.

Everyone looks so happy to have the King with them, and KC is happy to be there, God bless them all
Happy veteran day visit by the King. They were really thrilled to chat with the King. More of such visit will be appreciated. Well taken care of veterans. 😊❤🙏
God Bless all the remaining WW2 veterans.
Have been lucky enough to have known quite a few in my life and have always been in awe of them.
We really do owe them everything.
God bless the King!
Amen god and with you
Being a vet myself I like the way King Charles supports the vets 😊❤
Charles had convenient Royal Navy service. Every time he got too involved with some cutie, the Queen and her mother ordered him out to sea duty for a period of time until it blew over.
Vets and dentist, rip off merchants.
God love him for doing this. And God love these faithful men who served us so well all those years ago.
Wonderful opportunity-would love to chat with those folks
I'd like to do that too. Imagine the stories they could tell, the wisdom they could share.
God bless these heroes! From ❤🇺🇸
I’m getting so choked up watching these wonderful veterans. Thank you to the King for spending time with them.
Thank you very much for supporting military veterans.
How wonderful to see the King engaging with the most heroic people of our nation that still live
Doing a wonderful visit with the WW2 veterans ❤
My admiration of the men and women who served Britain is incomparable to anything else in this world, they were teenagers and early 20's at that time. I wish they could live forever as an example of unselfish sacrifice to all
Lovely. I knew he'd make a wonderful King x
God Bless all of those RAF vets and God Save the King!
These men were adults when Elisabeth came to the throne. Now they see Charles as king.
George V would have been King when they were born, more than likely.
So they have seen
George V
Edward VIII
George VI
Queen Elizabeth
and
King Charles,
with William and George still to come.
Can you imagine!!
❤
And they shared time in uniform for King and Country during WWII with one auto mechanic named 2nd Subaltern Elizabeth Windsor, later Commander Elizabeth Windsor, later Her Majesty The Queen in 1953.
God Bless Them
King Charles you are a Sterling gentleman! The planes are magnificent! I also loved how respectfully the young officers help the elderly retired veteran. That brought tears to my eyes. God bless them and their loved ones! From an 🇺🇸grandmother
This was really something having Tea with The King of England -- This will never be forgotten -- Bless them ALL !
King of U.K. 🏴🇬🇧
It’s lovely to see WW2 RAF Veterans so well taken care of and blessed with the presence of King Charles III. On 11/11 we will remember them 🇬🇧
All my respect for these veterans. We need to cherish them and their wisdom. The best generation.
Don't forget WW1 ...
He is a kind man.
That is so awesome ❤😊
Too think these Heroes fought under George IV, lived under Elizabeth II and now meet with Charles III. Bless them. Long live Britain and Long live The King!
amazing if they did indeed fight under George IV who lived 200 years ago
Much respect to the veterans who have sacrifice their very lives to save us, and long live his Majesty. God save the King 🏴

Yes his wallet is big too .. billionaire avoiding taxes
SPLENDID!
A great day for our veterans to whom we owe a debt we can never repay 🇬🇧🇬🇧 What a shame, though, that our country has fallen so far, in so many areas whilst these brave men & women look on. If I were a brave veteran I would be thinking "Is that the thanks I get" and "Was it worth the sacrifice"
The King doing his duties! Good on him and God save the King
Enjoy the peace everyone died for, never forget.
This is lovely.
Blessings to these people, they were a marvellous generation. For this age group, s visit from the king would really mean something . Wow, wonderful to think that these people fought for king and country. Charles’s grandfather. What continuity. 🙏🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
Wonderful place to visit, the BBMF at RAF Coningsby. I'm surprised that Prince William wasn't accompanying him as he is Honorary Air Commandant of RAF Coningsby. The RAF veterans are getting smaller in numbers by the year.
No, Prince William, would have been out of place, there too, young ,& modern no disrespect, but he belongs with the next modern, generation, who will takeover, from, these, older veterans, Amen!
@@patriciadavis2506 Absolute nonsense, if you look at it like that, the King is equally out of place, he has no idea what it would have been like flying in a Lancaster Bomber over Germany at night between 1943-45 and being shot at by radar guided 88mm flak guns. The only persons who would have been suitable at a gathering of this nature were the late Queen and Prince Philip who both served in WW2 and had a common understanding and association with these veterans and the trials and tribulations they all went through. Charles doesn't, he wasn't born until 1948 and I doubt he was aware of the conflict until the mid to late 1950's, though he would have later learnt a lot about it from his grandmother and his parents over the years, the same applies to Prince William. The only Royals alive today who would be able to understand and emphasise with these veterans would be the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra of Kent, who lived through WW2. It doesn't matter how old or young the King and William are, they're both equally capable of talking to these veterans as they both served in the RAF and it's the RAF that binds them together, not age!
King Charles is absolutely smashing
... pumpkins.
God bless your Majesty! God bless all of these veterans! We can all learn from their example. Stoic during troubled times in World War 2. Never to be forgotten. 💝💝
Love our king !
God bless you great 👑 🌷 king
Marvellous men, this generation saved the world, I always loved the relationship between the monarchy and the Armed Forces
LOVE THIS, BECAUSE ENGLAND WENT THRU A LOT BACK IN WW2. LOVE THOSE THAT SERVED.
Queen Elizabeth The Great, now King Charles The Great ,love you Your Majesty ,and yes you r an inspiration to me and my friends,we al love u and may God give u great health and energy to serve your all people well ,God Save The King ♥️👑🇬🇧🇮🇳
Amazing
Very beautiful - this brought tears to my eyes.
A thoroughly good and decent man who happens to be king. God Bless him.
One thing I love about the Royal Family is that they have always prepped before going somewhere. They ask questions and want to hear the answers, not just platitudes. With the queen so immobile the last few years of her life, King Charles seems out and about much more than she was. But I doubt his actual appearances are any more than before he was king. Princess Anne will no likely still be the hardest working royal when the yearly report is given next Spring.
of course they are prepared when they go somewhere
The King has always been the hardest working Royal by engagements, just the media wouldn't give him that credit. If you take a look at the engagement counts over the last decade, he was the only one to exceed 500 engagements in a year and usually him and Anne are within a few engagements of each other. This doesn't account for all the additional work he does for the charities and initiatives he personally founded.
Long live King Charles: a manifestly good king!
but a poor democrat?
He won't
Congratulations 👏🎉❤
For eating cake😂
@@Guitar-gv I didn’t see him take a bite, but glad he met with his mother’s contemporaries and chatted with them. Well done!

Thank you for loving me ❤️
In the beginning I couldn't stand Charls being King. This video shows how a true monarc, like his Mother before him, treat the veterans. His body language speaks volumes and I am sure these old timers would do it all again for this moment!
👍👍💯
God save the K!ng
what a great video
Respect
The King in Lincolnshire. Hurray.
What a wonderful king 👑 that i feel King Charles 👑 is gonna be! He'll probably have some of the loving of his country ways! Just like his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth Il 👑. I would have loved to have met his mother. I was gonna go visit both London and Paris. Back in 1985, when his mother was ruling as the queen 👑. But was moving, and couldn't afford to do both. I'm hoping to meet the newly crowned King Charles lll 👑 in the nearest future however!
Nice...
💐.
King Charles is one of a kind gentleman and wise strong king.
Plane looked fantastic ✈️
God save the king 👑🇬🇧👑✝️
