Exactly why I cherish this song so deeply... Therese Belivet, it's so me... *sigh* This novel saved me around 20 years ago - all my gratitude, Pat Highsmith 🌹
I'm sure I may angry some people who consider themselves purists or true enthusiasts, but I'm thankful that modern media, like games or movies, use this kind of songs for whatever reason, it being the nostalgia factor or just the atmosphere they give, as it keeps these pieces of musical history alive in modern culture and not collecting dust on the shelves of an archive. Yeah, i discovered this song (and pretty much the artist herself) because of Fallout games and not for direct interest on them, but i'm thankful for that.
this happened again with the release of little big planet 3 (2016) with other artists that were featured in-game that had a similar music style. I'm glad that they're still being remembered, and found again
would have never knew this tune if it wasn't for fallout. i was partial to a little doo wop from say american graffiti but fallout brought these classics straight into my heart.
As someone who loves older music, I don’t blame you and you don’t anger me. In fact, the Fallout franchise even introduced me to certain artists I didn’t even know about, including Billie Holiday. I’m glad video game companies like Bethesda decided to include the classics of yester-year in their Fallout games.
Here is the story behind “Easy Living.” This was originally created by composer Ralph Rainger as the main theme for director Mitchell Leisen’s 1937 movie “Easy Living.” Lyrics by Leo Robin were added after the release of the film. Later in 1937, the song was picked up by Teddy Wilson (and his orchestra) as a vehicle for star singer Billie Holiday. “Easy Living” would hereafter be associated with the great Lady Day❕ In 1947, Holiday re-recorded the jazz piece, this time around with her very own orchestra. A slower version than the earlier one. A rendition imbued with extreeeeeeeeeeeeme languor… ONE “MUST-MUST-LISTEN” JAZZ STANDARD‼️ 💙🎬💚🎷💜 Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed will you remain, Eleanora Fagan, a.k.a. Billie Holiday (1915 - 1959)… 🌹
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. The instrumentals sound so peaceful and Billie Holiday has the voice of an angel. I love her songs Moonglow, Solitude, Blue Moon, and All of Me but Easy Living will always be my favorite song from her.
endless memories of scavving the ruins of metro tunnels, or blasting away at feral ghouls and super mutants, anytime this song comes on, im instantly brought back to the capitol wastes, and im glad to see so many others can relate
I use to play this as a 17 yr old manager at a sandwich spot in downtown Boston. The customers enjoyed that and NWA occasionally. Had to mix it up. I know this collection word for word to the 6 yrs I spent there. Memories
Living for you is easy living It's easy to live when you're in love And I'm so in love There is nothing in life but you I never regret the things that I'm giving They're easy to give when you're in love I'm happy to do whatever I do for you For you maybe I'm a fool But it's fun People say you rule me with one wave of your hand Darling, it's grand They just don't understand Living for you is easy living It's easy to live when you're in love And I'm so in love There's nothing in life but you For you maybe I'm a fool But it's fun People say you rule me with one wave of your hand Baby, it's grand They just don't understand Living for you is easy living It's easy to live when you're in love And I'm so in love There's nothing in life but you
This song was written by Leo Robin and Ralph Rainger, who also wrote "Thanks for the Memory," (Bob Hope's theme song) and "Love in Bloom" (Jack Benny's theme song), among many others! They were one of the leading duos for movie songwriting during the 1930's and 1940's .
I’ve been looking for this song since i heard it on a random radio while i was fixing my power armor and i don’t know the title. I installed this radio mod “Galaxy News Radio” and they played this song. I love it and im glad i’ve found it.

Nunca é tarde demais para se apreciar um grande artista , musicas boas não tem data de validade.

Agreed. It draws people to explore the vast catalogs and maybe even learn to play and compose music of this classic quality.

Such a classy song, it turns my car into a Cadillac
Listening this after reading Patricia Highsmith's Carol. Who else? ❤
Pleasant, soothing, ...
Hearing her is like meditation or prayer.
Comforting
The movie about her made her seem ... not very pleasant to be around, but she seems pretty admirable in these songs.

Living for you is easy living
It's easy to live when you're in love
And I'm so in love
There is nothing in life but you
I never regret the things that I'm giving
They're easy to give when you're in love
I'm happy to do whatever I do for you
For you maybe I'm a fool
But it's fun
People say you rule me with one wave of your hand
Darling, it's grand
They just don't understand
Living for you is easy living
It's easy to live when you're in love
And I'm so in love
There's nothing in life but you
For you maybe I'm a fool
But it's fun
People say you rule me with one wave of your hand
Baby, it's grand
They just don't understand
Living for you is easy living
It's easy to live when you're in love
And I'm so in love
There's nothing in life but you
