Teacher, If a friend asks me if I have eaten dinner? Could I answer "I have had mine? " or " I already had dinner? "...which one is correct? Or both incorrect?
So, when we use "Did" means the action is 100% impossible to do in this moment because is 100% past? In sentence with "Did" we can not use "have" but in sentence with "have" we can use "did"? Imagine is the morning, we don´t have breakfast yet, we can ask "Have you had breakfast?" (because still is possible to do it) but we can ask in the same context "did you have breakfast" if still is possible to it?
thanks for sharing sir,,, now i know the differences, but may i ask you how if i am wrong, i mean this evening i said did you eat dinner,, is it understable ?
Those questions or those tenses? Just apply the same idea. Is it something that you think should be 100% in the past, or is it something that you think might still happen.
You will probably use past tense more often if you are simply telling a story about the past. However, if you are relating things to the present, then you will also use present perfect.
Thanks a lot sir I am having my hair cut I am going to shop to have my hair cut I am going to shop to have my mobile prepared Are these sentences correct ?
How about "Have you ever been in love?" This formula is not wrong is it? Then while at the Police station thay ask: "Did you point the gun at him?" "Have you ever pointed the gun at someone?" More: "Did you close the door?" "No I didn't" "Then go back and close it!" "Did you remember to call Mary?" "No I forgot" "Well.. I'll call her right now"
What about if i want to ask someone for example ; *have you been before in (name of country)* normally is on the past, so i need to us did you ..! is that true ?
You wouldn't use it in a question because it is the past tense form of the verb "eat", and when we make questions in past tense, we don't use the past tense form of the verb. You would only use it in an answer.

Which form is correct if I want to ask about the past in general: Have you managed to ship this order yet? or Did You shipped this order yet?
The first one.
But some people would also ask "Did you ship it yet?" It's less correct, but VERY common.
Oh now I understand it, thank you so much.
Thé clearest video that I watched in my life.
Thank you a lot! Now, I understand a bit
Thank you you cleared my biggest doubt.... 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Glad you found this one.
Teacher, If a friend asks me if I have eaten dinner? Could I answer "I have had mine? " or " I already had dinner? "...which one is correct? Or both incorrect?
Thanks Mike.
Oh, thank you very much. Actually, I was confused about this question
Thank you Brother
You're welcome!
The best teacher 👨🏫
I love you.
Thank u for clear explanation. Then what about ...had ur breakfast??? Pls explain.
Have you had breakfast? = Have you eaten breakfast?
Did you have breakfast? = Did you eat breakfast?
Really I understand thank you so much 👏🏻 Please get this kind of video
Sir,
This one also correct right
Did you have your dinner?
So, when we use "Did" means the action is 100% impossible to do in this moment because is 100% past?
In sentence with "Did" we can not use "have" but in sentence with "have" we can use "did"?
Imagine is the morning, we don´t have breakfast yet, we can ask "Have you had breakfast?" (because still is possible to do it) but we can ask in the same context "did you have breakfast" if still is possible to it?
Many native speakers would use "did you" but "have you" is grammatically a better choice.
very clear
Thank you very much
Thank you Mike. It wasn't easy for me to understand.
Does it make sense now?
Yes, thank you for the good explanation.
Thanks 🙏 teacher 👨🏫 mike
tnx teacher
Thank you.
Woow I really like his explanation
Great!!
I'll subscribe
Thank you ❤
Thanks 😊
Tha bst xplaation ever😃🥰
Thanks!
Did you eat a delicious breakfast this morning? I hope so.😊
I did not because I had to fast before my doctor's appointment.
Oh, no. I hope that you don't have anything serious, Mike. Take care! 😊
thanks for sharing sir,,, now i know the differences, but may i ask you how if i am wrong, i mean this evening i said did you eat dinner,, is it understable ?
Helpful.. but how can I use them in other situations?
Those questions or those tenses? Just apply the same idea. Is it something that you think should be 100% in the past, or is it something that you think might still happen.
Hi Tr.Mike
A: Did you have breakfast at home yesterday?
B: Yes, I did.
Or
Yes, I had.
Which response is grammatically correct?
The question was "Did you...?" so the answer should be "Yes, I did."
My English is a little but I understand to you , thank you very much ,
And that’s why English is best! Much more simpler! 😊
❤thank you 🙏
Thanks .
If i want to speak a bout historical events or story which tense is sutible ?
You will probably use past tense more often if you are simply telling a story about the past. However, if you are relating things to the present, then you will also use present perfect.
How about "are you" and "were you".. can u explain
Thanks a lot sir
I am having my hair cut
I am going to shop to have my hair cut
I am going to shop to have my mobile prepared
Are these sentences correct ?
I am going to the barber shop to have my hair cut.
👍👍👍👍👍😊
What's the difference between supper and dinner?
I think I have a video about that.
@@TeacherMikeEnglish Thanks! 👍

Yes i had dinner

Have you had lunch, Mike? 😊
Yes, I have.😀
😊😊😁
How about "Have you ever been in love?" This formula is not wrong is it? Then while at the Police station thay ask: "Did you point the gun at him?" "Have you ever pointed the gun at someone?" More: "Did you close the door?" "No I didn't" "Then go back and close it!" "Did you remember to call Mary?" "No I forgot" "Well.. I'll call her right now"
You've got it.✅
What about if i want to ask someone for example ;
*have you been before in (name of country)*
normally is on the past, so i need to us did you ..!
is that true ?
Have you ever been to Canada?
Why "to Canada" ? I don't now but I found out about it today dont
use "in Canada"
Hate to do this to you, but what about "ate"?
You wouldn't use it in a question because it is the past tense form of the verb "eat", and when we make questions in past tense, we don't use the past tense form of the verb. You would only use it in an answer.
@@TeacherMikeEnglish Thanks!
