You know you're listening to an outstanding pianist when you've been playing this piece for years but it sounds like it's not the same piece you've just heard. Congrats Valentina ! Loved it
I discovered her over 10 years ago. and she made a stop in my city but I couldn't afford to see her at the time. but yes I absolutely love her interpretations. brings new life to all my favourite pieces and always very original.
Perhaps you can help. I am studying this piece and have arrived at the last page. The lines of the last page only make sense when you play them by alternating them and skipping the immediate run-on line, so 1 3 5. I even found a recording of Rachmaninoff himself playing it and that is how he plays the last page. So are the second, fourth and sixth lines superfluous? Thanks
I can honestly say I’ve never heard the largo “so largo”. Your performance gives it such a majestic weight. I don’t even know how to describe it. Amazing as always Valentina.
We’re waiting on that long awaited Chopin Fantasie Impromptu op.66, Valentina!! I’ve wanted to hear your version of it for more than 10 years now!! I love the music you make!
Magnificent recording as always. I hope you can play in Paris soon, the concert halls miss you so much, so do I. Once again, thanks for sharing your beautiful performance of this piece
I am SO happy you uploaded a performance of this piece. I had looked for a performance of this from you many times and never found one, and you did NOT disappoint. Simply stellar.

Valentino, I have listened to you for years. I am in awe with every piece you play. If only I would have stuck to playing the piano diligently, I might be one tenth as good as you! You are simply awesome. Also, my husband and I pray for you and your family that all is well with you in regard to the situation with Ukraine and Russia!! What a tragedy, and it still goes on. I will continue to listen to you every week as I do now. You are one of a kind!! Best of everything to you now and in the future! 💕💕💕

When will VL do Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody no. 6? It's a favorite piece of mine and I've been unable to find the VL version. With every classical piano piece there's the Valentina way and then there's everyone else.
A true and beautiful masterpiece, playing one of my favorite masterpieces. Hesitant to write this, but this is also, by far my favorite execution of this prelude. It means more than words can express. It's disheartening how many ppl do not appreciate nor value the beauty of classical music, such as classics such as this one. But it tugs on my heart strings knowing I am very lucky to be one of the few who not only value/appreciate it, but truly love and respect it (and you) for what it (and you) truly is (are). I hope one day to see you live performing in NYC much sooner rather than later. Your technique is heavenly and 'beyond this world'. I foresee lots of fundraisers and events not only to keep music and art alive, but to expand and thrive. May the universe send you many blessings of divine love, and divine light. 💛🌟🌸💐🌹
One of my favotire piece from one of my favorite pianist, its fabulous thank you for this performance. It has plenly of emotion, you can feel some king of deep grief as well as as confusion. Greeting from belgium
Congratulations Ms Lisita. Brilliant as always. I actually prefer your version to Rachmaninoff's recording because you give the peace more warmth and colour and because you don't eat it up quite as fast as he does.

Absolutely sensational, as always! This is probably one of my favourite compositions, can you play it with such unique passion and talent, thank you so much for sharing it with us, you’re incredible!
We want scherzo no 2! There was no need to delete it, it was good, only the video was with those strange gray stuff! But I know why you did that, you are perfeccionist, that's why you're one of the best pianists alive!
Thank you Valentina! I saw how you did measures 28 and 29 on the c# and b in the left hand; wasn't sure if I could roll that or do an octave up on the c#. Saw how you bounced that c# in a roll. Made my day. Been teaching my myself mostly. So seeing how you did it helped. Thank you and God bless!💐
So glad to see this uploaded from you, Valentina! Looking forward to more Beethoven Sonatas as well 😊 This piece is Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in C# Minor (Прелюдия), Op.3, No.2. Part of a set of five piano pieces entitled Morceaux de fantaisie, it is a 62-bar prelude in ternary (ABA) form. It is also known as The Bells of Moscow since the introduction seems to reproduce the Kremlin's most solemn carillon chimes. The prelude is organized into three main parts and a coda: The piece opens with a three-note motif at fortissimo which introduces the grim C-sharp minor tonality that dominates the piece. The cadential motif repeats throughout. In the third bar, the volume changes to a piano pianissimo for the exposition of the theme. The second part is propulsive and marked Agitato (agitated), beginning with highly chromatic triplets. This passionately builds to interlocking chordal triplets that descend into a climactic recapitulation of the main theme, this time in four staves to accommodate the volume of notes. Certain chords in the section are marked with quadruple sforzando. The piece closes with a brief seven-bar coda which ends quietly.

Such a wonderful interpretation :)
wsjoiram: 1 3 5 are the right hand and 2 4 6 the left hand, if we talk about the score I've got here. :)
Thanks. I need to check something, then I'll get back to you.
I can honestly say I’ve never heard the largo “so largo”. Your performance gives it such a majestic weight. I don’t even know how to describe it. Amazing as always Valentina.
She played as though it were grave.
