- It's Anna Karenina day! This is part ten of the series: the last part! Thanks to all of you for sticking around for all ten parts. Next month, I'll be uploading my final review and ranking of all eight adaptations, so stay tuned for that! The 1948 version was blocked by copyright, so I sadly couldn't include it. As always, the relevant passage from the book will be posted in the comments below, and I hope you enjoy the comparisons!

The scene with Sophie Marceau is unforgettable.
I agree!
Yep. The best of the bunch
Why do you think the 2017 version left out the train station scene? My theory is that, as the story is told through Vronsky's perspective, to imagine Anna being killed must be really painful.
In any case, although I love the costumes and sets, I HATE the 2017 version and how it shredded Tolstoy's book. It's just a bad adaptation, honestly.
I've tried to figure out why they chose to end the series that way, and I honestly can't understand it. Your theory makes a lot of sense! And yes, I absolutely agree - the 2017 version is visually stunning, but it just isn't that good :(
Sophie Marceau’s version will always be my favorite! ❤️
Kierey Knightley 's tears, Sophie Marceau's scene...the best.
No mater what vesen it is it is still horrible to see Anna end her life so horrible like that.
Tatyana Samoilova, is the best version ever made. She was the true Anna Karenina.
The director also made an amazing choice of framing the scene. The only thing I don't really like is the soundtrack for this ending. Tatyana Samoilova's eyes are incredibly expressing. Loved her.
Vittoria Puccini
Quanto dolore , 🙏❤❤❤❤❤
1997
Garbos is best.
Io sono li grazieeeeee 🙏❤️
Garbo.
