It adds much depth when you hear Saladin and Shaxx in your head. I love Byf and his voice but just envision Shaxx putting his hands on Fel’s shoulders and saying “I would have stopped you, but I like the way you think” in his actual voice.
This Byf video specifically made me wish that also, but it’s fun to hear Byf get into that Shaxx impression a little. He lets words trail off with this short confidence the same way Shaxx does (ex 16:29)

With hidden lore stubs like this, it is really making me want to go back up to the snow topped peaks from D1. Or at least have that location unlocked in D2. This also kind of makes me wonder if all the war lords have been taken care of or joined the vanguard? Or if there is a possibility that we could end up fighting one in a dlc in the future. 🤔 I feel it would be interesting.
A bit off-topic but I really wish that they would bring artefacts back like from destiny 1 with special effects, I think it would just be so great for expanding the building side of the game.

You mentioned Skorri at the beginning, and there were other significant, but lesser developed Lords throughout (Radegast, Gheleon, Jolder), but I don't know much about them (along with Perun, Silimar, Timur etc). What if Shaxx’s “mountain fortress” is actually, wait for it... The crucible map Fortress... Edit: this isn't a new theory apparently, I went looking for lore on the subject and found someone from two years ago that theorized that this was Shaxx's castle.

I love Byf’s intro in this video. Saying sorry to the hunters because this story doesn’t involve them. If Byf was an npc in the game to go to and listen to him read stories of Destiny’s history and lore, I’d be happy to listen in. Byf is like an old wise warlock that has seen much. He’d be a lot like a “lore keeper”/librarian in the Tower, with scrolls and old parchments littered across desks and bookcases.

Just a quick question is the guardian the most op light user , we've single handedly took out the houses if the fallen killed their gods , killed crota ,killed oryx , oryx's other son, and so forth we single handedly destroyed what a whole group of iron lords could not siva , and pretty much way more , ghoul ,uldren, ahamkara , and so much more
I interpret our guardians as a group, and not a single person. So I see it as some of us killed Crota, some of us killed Oryx, and so on. I think you can see it as maybe your guardian was part of that fireteam, but the lord seems to treat your guardian in different campaigns as different people.
Seeing myself appear in a Byf lore video has been the best part of Season of the Worthy so far, that and getting more lore and stuff about the universe is still the best part of this game imo.
I love these stories, of the dark age and the wars between warlords and iron lords and everyone in between. This story especially i enjoyed because it gave me a look into shaxx and felwinter during the dark age

loved the story, but also loved the game play footage. This whole time, I thought it mattered what direction you were facing when you threw the charge. I see now just so long as it hits the orb, it will move it doesn't matter which direction you are facing.
From listening to this i have three guesses as to what Felwinter's Lie might be, (one) the lie was that he was trying to get Lord Shaxx on their side because he cared for the people when in reality all he wanted was entrance to the Seraph Bunker which Lord Shaxx wouldn't allow anyone in his territory. (two) the lie was that Lord Shaxx beat him, again we know that before the Iron Lords, Felwinter Peak had never been taken because Felwinter was quite a skilled fighter but also very strategic but for this fight his goal wasn't to beat him in a duel, it was to buy time and the only way to get Shaxx to side with them was through manipulation instead of fights. (third) this one i more simple but maybe the lie was just 20:30 "Because the Iron Lords are going to change the world; no one can stop them" only for all of them besides Efrideet and Saladin to die.
I can’t wait until you bring this whole thing around, and get to the in-game theory of some fellow Iron Lords, that Felwinter is the body and reincarnation of the Warmind, Rasputin. Honestly gave me chills when I saw the part about a Seraph Bunker below the very ground he stood on, no documentation if he ever got the chance to enter
An interesting thing to note, is that it's not Saladin but Felwinter who convinces Shaxx to ally with the Iron Lords. I say this because later it's implied that Shaxx (and Zavala) would become students under Lord Saladin. However, in the new lore, it's implied Shaxx was nearly invincible in one on one combat (save for Ikora). I'm not sure if this is a retcon or not, or if while building and defending the Last City that Shaxx went under Saladin's tutelage. Granted there is still a great deal of room for explanation and expansion on these established ideas. I just don't want to see another "House Of Rain" being on Mercury despite being wiped during the Whirlwind according to Variks or "Nokris and Xol" being on Mars because...? They don't destroy or invalidate the rest of the Destiny lore (for the most part) but they do raise a lot of perhaps unnecessary questions IMHO. Don't get me wrong, I love the writing for the lore and the characterization are great, but consistency is important to strengthen and hold the entire narrative together. Although, maybe I am messing some info? Feel free to correct me if I am.

The lie was Felwinter was one of the seven seraphs and rasputin used siva as a bait and Rasputin specifically targeted felwinter. Rasputin killed hundred of iron lords just to kill felwinter.

I always thought Felwinter's Lie was that he died. Like, the thing we fought in Rise of Iron was some sort of fake and that real Felwinter was still around somewhere. Maybe I should watch the video before making guesses lol

Seriously though this video is awesome, adds some context to this mysterious Lord of a mountain, the Iron Lords and my favorite guardian right next to Cayde-6, this also adds to the fact that Shaxx is the very definition of a Warrior from what I could tell in the lore card. A king that doesnt see himself as a king but as a protector is someone who deserves to be a king. Lord Shaxx is awesome and i love hearing the dark age lore!!

@@S3Cs4uN8 oh yes i understand that there are many qualities that a leader needs but i beleive a true leader/king main priority should be the people protection comfort and trust. Yes yhere are alot of historical leaders who have shown they should never have been in position of power.

I love Byf’s intro in this video. Saying sorry to the hunters because this story doesn’t involve them. If Byf was an npc in the game to go to and listen to him read stories of Destiny’s history and lore, I’d be happy to listen in. Byf is like an old wise warlock that has seen much. He’d be a lot like a “lore keeper”/librarian in the Tower, with scrolls and old parchments littered across desks and bookcases.

I kinda feel like part of the lie is convincing shaxx that he cared about his people and that they needed him just to gain his "trust" but in reality that they just wanted access to the castle for the bunker/tech underneath, but idk lol love the videos man idk what destiny would be to me without knowing what I know BECAUSE of you, I am definitely grateful that your in our community, keep it up!
Just a quick question is the guardian the most op light user , we've single handedly took out the houses if the fallen killed their gods , killed crota ,killed oryx , oryx's other son, and so forth we single handedly destroyed what a whole group of iron lords could not siva , and pretty much way more , ghoul ,uldren, ahamkara , and so much more
I interpret our guardians as a group, and not a single person. So I see it as some of us killed Crota, some of us killed Oryx, and so on. I think you can see it as maybe your guardian was part of that fireteam, but the lord seems to treat your guardian in different campaigns as different people.
Hearing him talk about being grateful Felwinters Lie is gone now is just saddening

Seeing myself appear in a Byf lore video has been the best part of Season of the Worthy so far, that and getting more lore and stuff about the universe is still the best part of this game imo.
I love these stories, of the dark age and the wars between warlords and iron lords and everyone in between. This story especially i enjoyed because it gave me a look into shaxx and felwinter during the dark age
I love lore on the iron lords and shaxx, so for this kind of content to be released is friggin awesome to me. Especially when you make a video on it. I'd love to hear more about shaxx from you though, especially how him and mara came to interacting. Just a thought. Love your videos! Keep it up!
Leaving this here but imagine a destiny TV series. Even if it just follows each expansion rather than all the lore it would still be good.

loved the story, but also loved the game play footage. This whole time, I thought it mattered what direction you were facing when you threw the charge. I see now just so long as it hits the orb, it will move it doesn't matter which direction you are facing.
From listening to this i have three guesses as to what Felwinter's Lie might be, (one) the lie was that he was trying to get Lord Shaxx on their side because he cared for the people when in reality all he wanted was entrance to the Seraph Bunker which Lord Shaxx wouldn't allow anyone in his territory. (two) the lie was that Lord Shaxx beat him, again we know that before the Iron Lords, Felwinter Peak had never been taken because Felwinter was quite a skilled fighter but also very strategic but for this fight his goal wasn't to beat him in a duel, it was to buy time and the only way to get Shaxx to side with them was through manipulation instead of fights. (third) this one i more simple but maybe the lie was just 20:30 "Because the Iron Lords are going to change the world; no one can stop them" only for all of them besides Efrideet and Saladin to die.

I can’t wait until you bring this whole thing around, and get to the in-game theory of some fellow Iron Lords, that Felwinter is the body and reincarnation of the Warmind, Rasputin. Honestly gave me chills when I saw the part about a Seraph Bunker below the very ground he stood on, no documentation if he ever got the chance to enter
I'm fine with not having any hunter shine in this one, Felwinter is one of my favorite lore characters.
An interesting thing to note, is that it's not Saladin but Felwinter who convinces Shaxx to ally with the Iron Lords. I say this because later it's implied that Shaxx (and Zavala) would become students under Lord Saladin. However, in the new lore, it's implied Shaxx was nearly invincible in one on one combat (save for Ikora). I'm not sure if this is a retcon or not, or if while building and defending the Last City that Shaxx went under Saladin's tutelage. Granted there is still a great deal of room for explanation and expansion on these established ideas. I just don't want to see another "House Of Rain" being on Mercury despite being wiped during the Whirlwind according to Variks or "Nokris and Xol" being on Mars because...? They don't destroy or invalidate the rest of the Destiny lore (for the most part) but they do raise a lot of perhaps unnecessary questions IMHO.
Don't get me wrong, I love the writing for the lore and the characterization are great, but consistency is important to strengthen and hold the entire narrative together. Although, maybe I am messing some info? Feel free to correct me if I am.
It seems to me his lie was acting like it was about shax's people when in reality he wanted the castle empty so they could gain access to the bunker. And that he will lie out of operational necessity screw honor.
If this lore piece was made into a mini movie it would be unbelievable
