I really do like this teaching. Thanks for sharing. It’s critical that we don’t miss the mark in the age where deception has widely infiltrated the church.

DON'T INTERPRET THE BIBLE WITH SPIRIT FEELINGS, BUT TEST SPIRIT FEELINGS WITH THE BIBLE There are a lot of Christians who think the way to understand the bible is to "let the Holy Spirit tell you what it means." Often, they'll quote I Corinthians 2:14a as justification to this wildly inaccurate way to properly understand the bible--"the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God." Sure, anyone who has not yet experienced the unconditional love and complete forgiveness of God is, of course, going to behave as if they are not loved and forgiven, which is why they can't "receiveth," that is, experience the things of the Spirit of God. This ignorance, and the behavior which follows, makes no change to what God does or thinks or plans to do, but it does prevent the yet-to-realize-whom-they-are children of God FEEL it and begin acting accordingly. But that's a LOT different from RELYING ON FEELINGS to interpret the Bible!!! If one thinks, "It doesn't matter what the original authors of the bible intended to say when they put ink to a papyrus or vellum, but to rely on "spiritual feelings" to interpret their words, then the Bible can be made to said whatever one wants it to...or more likely, whatever SOMEONE ELSE wants you to FEEL it means, by using time-tested means of MANIPULATING YOUR FEELINGS! Now, this is not to say it's impossible or wrong to get feelings IN REACTION TO when the Spirit is, in fact, communicating with you in some way! Trouble is, how to KNOW for sure if what you FEEL is an accurate representation of what God is saying or has said, or merely the result of all the many things that go on around us or which happened to us before that results in what we call "feelings." Well, this is where PROPERLY DIVIDING THE WORD makes all the difference. Whenever you THINK you're feeling the Spirit of God, you should TEST THAT SPIRIT!!! How? By comparing what you SUBJECTIVELY FEEL the spirit is telling you to what the Scriptures OBJECTIVELY say, then you can screen out any stray feeling you mistook for the spirit of God. But if you do the REVERSE--using your feelings to determine what the bible says, then you're in for the wildest ride of your life because you'll be like a ship at sea, during a storm, without a rudder...or worse, you'll become the slave of anyone who has mastered the art of manipulating your feelings in order to get you to think they are God's voice when it's really just another MAN controlling you! So you stopped someone from speaking in tongues and playing their tambourine in church as they worshipped God? Everyone was probably looking around because they were not used to the Holy Spirit moving in someone because you don't allow Him to have His way in your church. That's why we have so many dry and dead churches these days filled with believers who have no real power.
This is an interesting overview. But be careful about telling people they are wrong. He says he is not telling people but I think he is. The most important thing is to be on that journey, people will come to a full understanding of systematic theology with the help of God when the time is right. Everyone is on a journey. I don't believe we are going to hell because we believe the wrong thing, especially when we do not know or have full understanding. Jesus is forgiveness. Learning involves discerning, and that takes time. Not every systematic theology book is correct. The Holy Spirit has a role in guidance and I think he's forgotten about that.
Because of bad hermeneutics people don’t even understand the saving message as detailed in John 20:31. I think it’s very important to tell people they’re wrong.
First reason Biblical interpretation is important is... the Bible says it's important at 1:30. Well...I'm glad this apologist got his circular reasoning out of the way in the first minute and a half. No need to waste anymore time hoping for an informative lecture.
Why is he acting like an authority ? In the Protestant world no man is an authority. Your Bible and the Holy Spirit to guide u when u read it is your only authority.
There is no such thing of twisting scriptures. If the scriptures are saying something we don't understand, say that. But the bible wasn't created by someone of your mental comprehension, God isn't you....he's magnificent. The ignorant screams, the tests are rigged! The Bible can't fight itself. People do turn things into confusion if they can't understand it. When your pride of comprehending fails you. Your ignorance takes you on a debate, on what you know little to nothing about, instead of conceding. To correct the Bible causes you to accidentally make God, into something like an imbecile. As if he needed you to improve on and tell your interpretation on things, explaining how to live correctly. Everybody don't understand even simple things, 4x4 is still under debate to some people. lol...Know when to say, i don't understand. It could prove a deeper intellect than a fool saying they know.
@@freegraceau do you know what a gentile is? A gentile is the entire race of people on earth, outside of the bloodline family God choose. That means from Africa thru Asia to Europeans are GENTILES. To choose means to EXCLUDE others. Heard of the ATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE? Only them...are God's chosen. They are from Jerusalem not Africa. Yes, they were captured in Africa but it's NOT home. Moses freed Hebrew Israelites from Egypt but it wasn't their home. Given tools? Saying that proves you don't understand because your race wasn't given ANYTHING. Read Romans 9:4 then Romans 2:14. Then read Psalms 147:20. It's hard to accept....I know, I know. lol

The Holy spirit likes order. How can you come in church with your own instrument and play different music? that's a distraction to the service

Post modern ( critical theory ) biblical interpretations, stink.
Both may stink, but they are not the same. In fact they reject each other pretty vehemently..
Translation are incorrec.read a Hebrew bible and learn from it....

Presuppositions are important.

The bible was written to be understood. We are given the tools to understand.

Where is the interpretation? Oh ok you just want to say there is only one way without telling us what it is. Not cool.
teach....15 minutes, into the presentation....and blah, blah, blah....
Philip Buckley
Philip Buckley it may have not been what you needed, but I pray that what you said doesn’t turn someone away that needed to hear this message.
That's all Christians have ..... blah, blah, blah .... and a lot of cognitive bias.
