keyaq yes on a patrol. But make it epic. Attacked on a patrol? He’s been training his whole life for this. They are ambushed, he tried to tell one of the apprentices to warn the clan but there are to many enemies. He manages to lead his patrol out of the fight together, one couldn’t escape on their own. They try to get away but the enemy is right on their heels. Thornclaw stops in a choke point, in between to large thorn bushes or something and takes them all on while telling the patrol to keep running. He fights them with the strength of Lionclan using the space to his advantage only fighting a few at a time and buying enough time for his clan mates to get away. But eventually he is overwhelmed and killed, he dies surrounded by wounded enemies, knowing he did his duty... his duty to this patr- Thunderclan.
I kinda wish they would, in a way, hit "the reset button" on warriors. New readers might have a hard time reading the eternal number of books. They could have some foreign enemy come in and kill/drive out the clans. Maybe have the next arc have the pov from a loner/kitty pet. They could somehow meet an old clan cat (who managed to survive) or a descendant of a clan cat who explains the clans and maybe help them rebuild the clans. You would still need some prexistitiing knowledge but not nearly as much.
I second this. It’d also be an opportunity to re-ground the series after all of the reincarnation, powers, and heaven vs. hell stuff. I, personally, really didn’t like those plots and I ended up dropping the series after I read Dark River. Part of what I liked about the books were how it really felt like what an actual colony of feral cats could be like if they were sapient with a small pinch of mysticism. Resetting the clans could help with that problem, though there could be an argument that it’d be too much like Dawn of the Clans.

I liked her because I’ve never seen a character more bound to the warrior code than HollyLeaf! I agree that Mistystar is old, but I want her death to be remembered. I feel that she is the kind of cat that would give all her lives defending what she believes. I want her death to be like Stonefur. I want her to go out defending the cats that are 'codebreakers'. I love Mistystar's character, and I don't want her to fade into the background. I want her to be remembered by us readers for as long as Warriors goes on. She feels like the kind of cat that would protect everyone. She cares about the other clans, but not to much. She sees them as working parts, that need to be separate but connected in their way of life, not like how Firestar saw them as a divided whole. I want her to be loyal to the way of the warriors, as well as Riverclan. Dying to defend, just like her family.

In A Light In The Mist, she still pushes for punishing the codebreakers after it is revealed that Shadowsight's visions were fake. She still wants to punish them for whatever they did. She supported Bramblestar and was just... terrible.
The code breaking thing could turn into a big genocide of all of the characters considers code breakers and maybe some children of said code breakers and maybe a cat who risks there life to save another cat but they both die

I'm late to the party, but here's Thornclaw's death for you: Thornclaw went on patrol sadly because all his siblings were dead and he was also sad because it was his last time going on patrol because he was being forced to retire to the elders den. Then, suddenly, he collapsed by the Shadowclan border and died, then everyone accused Shadowclan of poisoning him just cause they were less than 40 feet away and then a bunch of cats died in a battle (*cough cough* on moonkitti's list)
I want Graystripe to be so old literally no one remembers him. That he is so old he’s considered immortal. All hail Graystripe the weird god. I also think Brightheart should die, then Brackenfur a bit later. Her death would cause Bracken and Cloud to be in deep grief, and I think it woud give the relationship between the Thorn/ (maybe he would finally retire at the sign that he is so old his sister is dead!)Bracken/Cinder/Bright litter, since taht never got much attention and i believe thay could really play about both Bright and Cinder being injured, and how they always had a good relationship about it, and how that affected Frost, their mother. Then I think Cloud could finally come to terms with her death, only to have his now only friend/companion/mate’s brother die, leaving him in much deeper grief, and maybe sprinkle in a little bit of maybe one other of his children dying, causing him to feel like he is to blame for everyone’s death, which he will finally come to terms with, and have one last stand, protecting his clan in a battle. Edit: The death of these would open up the possibility for other cats to retire, thinning the crowd, like there are some OLD cats that really do need to either die or retire.
You are right, Brightheart really would make a good character motivation death. Plus most of the original arc readers remember her because of the big part she played. It could be very emotional.

Yessssss, I don't care if he just goes out like Runningwind but dying on a patrol is the way he should go
Thornclaw should be killed by something happening during a patrol, either a falling tree/branch or an enemy attack
keyaq yes on a patrol. But make it epic. Attacked on a patrol? He’s been training his whole life for this. They are ambushed, he tried to tell one of the apprentices to warn the clan but there are to many enemies. He manages to lead his patrol out of the fight together, one couldn’t escape on their own. They try to get away but the enemy is right on their heels. Thornclaw stops in a choke point, in between to large thorn bushes or something and takes them all on while telling the patrol to keep running. He fights them with the strength of Lionclan using the space to his advantage only fighting a few at a time and buying enough time for his clan mates to get away. But eventually he is overwhelmed and killed, he dies surrounded by wounded enemies, knowing he did his duty... his duty to this patr- Thunderclan.

I kinda wish they would, in a way, hit "the reset button" on warriors. New readers might have a hard time reading the eternal number of books. They could have some foreign enemy come in and kill/drive out the clans. Maybe have the next arc have the pov from a loner/kitty pet. They could somehow meet an old clan cat (who managed to survive) or a descendant of a clan cat who explains the clans and maybe help them rebuild the clans. You would still need some prexistitiing knowledge but not nearly as much.
I second this. It’d also be an opportunity to re-ground the series after all of the reincarnation, powers, and heaven vs. hell stuff. I, personally, really didn’t like those plots and I ended up dropping the series after I read Dark River. Part of what I liked about the books were how it really felt like what an actual colony of feral cats could be like if they were sapient with a small pinch of mysticism. Resetting the clans could help with that problem, though there could be an argument that it’d be too much like Dawn of the Clans.
i feel like the clans being wiped out would be the way they end the series tbh?? either that or they jus have a VERY open ended final book

I agree that Mistystar is old, but I want her death to be remembered. I feel that she is the kind of cat that would give all her lives defending what she believes. I want her death to be like Stonefur. I want her to go out defending the cats that are 'codebreakers'. I love Mistystar's character, and I don't want her to fade into the background. I want her to be remembered by us readers for as long as Warriors goes on. She feels like the kind of cat that would protect everyone. She cares about the other clans, but not to much. She sees them as working parts, that need to be separate but connected in their way of life, not like how Firestar saw them as a divided whole. I want her to be loyal to the way of the warriors, as well as Riverclan. Dying to defend, just like her family.

@@skyriver9525 In Veil of Shadows, she exiles Mothwing due to who her parents are then exiles Harelight and Icewing for doing the right thing(fighting against the impostor) She also helped try to drive out ShadowClan, and she was very rude and tried to force Mothwing to become a Elder in Mistystar's Omen because Mothwing didn't believe in StarClan. In A Light In The Mist, she still pushes for punishing the codebreakers after it is revealed that Shadowsight's visions were fake. She still wants to punish them for whatever they did. She supported Bramblestar and was just... terrible.

I'm late to the party, but here's Thornclaw's death for you:
Thornclaw went on patrol sadly because all his siblings were dead and he was also sad because it was his last time going on patrol because he was being forced to retire to the elders den. Then, suddenly, he collapsed by the Shadowclan border and died, then everyone accused Shadowclan of poisoning him just cause they were less than 40 feet away and then a bunch of cats died in a battle (*cough cough* on moonkitti's list)
This is an interesting theory. Minnowtail HAD kits with Mousewhisker, and the kits are young warriors, like Girseclew, Dappletuft, and their siblings

I want Graystripe to be so old literally no one remembers him. That he is so old he’s considered immortal.

I also think Brightheart should die, then Brackenfur a bit later. Her death would cause Bracken and Cloud to be in deep grief, and I think it woud give the relationship between the Thorn/ (maybe he would finally retire at the sign that he is so old his sister is dead!)Bracken/Cinder/Bright litter, since taht never got much attention and i believe thay could really play about both Bright and Cinder being injured, and how they always had a good relationship about it, and how that affected Frost, their mother. Then I think Cloud could finally come to terms with her death, only to have his now only friend/companion/mate’s brother die, leaving him in much deeper grief, and maybe sprinkle in a little bit of maybe one other of his children dying, causing him to feel like he is to blame for everyone’s death, which he will finally come to terms with, and have one last stand, protecting his clan in a battle.
Edit: The death of these would open up the possibility for other cats to retire, thinning the crowd, like there are some OLD cats that really do need to either die or retire.
You are right, Brightheart really would make a good character motivation death. Plus most of the original arc readers remember her because of the big part she played. It could be very emotional.
