I do lose Business and get lots of harassment from the deep pocket manufacturers of these and other Basement Waterproofing and Foundation Repair materials. You're worth it. I'm a structural engineer. When it comes to reinforcing bowed basement walls, I always recommend installing beams. The only time carbon fiber is appropriate according to the design literature is when the wall is NOT bowing but needs to be strengthened to withstand lateral loads that weren't taken into account when the wall was originally designed (e.g. heavy surcharge loads, seismic activity, etc). Carbon fiber is not appropriate for bowed walls IMO.

We install both steel and carbon for wall repair.
I've seen steel beam installs that fail. As with everything it has to be installed correctly and used for the right application.
Structural engineers typically spec out carbon fiber straps over steel beams. Straps are generally better for bowed wall repair.
Carbon kevlar straps make the wall stronger. Beams transfer load to the wood framing of the house's floor.
