Christmastime, 1989. No only that, but the 1980s are drawing to a close. 2:26 But if I'm watching this in 1989, do I think "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is the film of the decade? In 2024 there's definitely more appreciation for the technical tricks necessary to make it happen. But in 1989? Heading into the 90s? I'm thinking of Indiana Jones, I'm thinking of Batman, I'm thinking of Back to the Future, I'm thinking of E.T., I'm thinking of Star Wars... Even now, when I think of the films that represent the 80s? If I had to pick one, I'd pick the Back to the Future films.
