First of all, this genocide was a blot to indian history and whoever involved should be brought to justice. Those who were killed in Delhi and other parts of India were no way responsible for Indira Gandhi's assassination and it revealed the true face of Indian politicians who wouldn't hesitate in settling their personal scores with innocent civilians for the sake of their masters. It was again congress that was responsible for Bhindrawaala's rise to power and later killed him. Majority in Punjab who belonged to the Sikh community weren't holding the banner of revolt against India, but only those factions who had developed resistance for Congress. Upon Indira Gandhi's assassination, hardliners who were looking for an opportunity to instigate anti-sikh riots had brazenly took to the streets and killed those innocent sikhs who had nothing to do with khalistani movement. At that time, atmosphere in India was conducive for unleashing the forces of chaos and anarchy since communal solidarity between Sikhs and Hindus was already hampered shaping strong religious identities.A responsible and accountable leadership would never act in this manner, but look for ways to maintain peace and harmony amongst different communities instead.
It was such a black day on the face of entire humanity and for the history of India.
It proved that politics and politicians could never be trusted.Had there been efforts to mitigate the imminent crisis, there would be no riots and wholesale massacre.
