    I'm from Myanmar. My dad is Mon and my mom is Mon-Chinese-Myanmar. (Yeah. I know it's a little confused. )
    But I consider myself as a Mon. I want to learn Mon language but I don't have a chance. I love Mon people and our Mon land as well as our golden land, Myanmar.

    Mon is like Khmer's sibling. Their language is in the Mon-Khmer language family.

    Aspects of Burmese culture were taken from the Mon. The Bamar or Burmese people originally migrated from southern China and displaced the Mon in the area and eventually became the dominant group but borrowed Mon cultural aspects as well.

    Burmese hsaing waing is Mon origin, and I think the music used here is original Mon version of hsaing waing
    Mon version still include pattala, kyam, and a fiddle which I dunno what's the name. And their version of kyi waing have vertical frame instead usual horizontal frame (which is similar to Khmer and Thai khong wong)
    Bamar version always include pat waing (which don't used here), but now rarely use pattala and kyam
    Both of those versions now rarely use saung gauk

    @sayyid14 Thailand is a melting pot of cultures and traditions, a land of combinations, and we never think they way u try to mislead people. We live in the land of mixes, and we r proud of it. When u have people of many races in ur home, definitely, a new adapted culture that comes from mixing is born. This is not stealing. I am a Mon- Chinese, born in bkk into a business family....I have no thai blood, but all the races live happily in Thailand. And that is how we stand on the world stage.

    OMG .. that is true that .. the Jakea insturement( allagator a like the pluck instrument) is from Mon culture.Thai culture has much in common with mon culture. Even our first king of Ratanakosin dynasty was descented from Mon..

      Krapeu of Khmer also have similar origin, but since Khmer civilisation is as old as Mon, I think it was common Mon-Khmer heritage

      Yes i believe thai people gained independence from mon and established themselves next to us and mon in the area assimilated with thai.

    @sayyid14 thai people is the younger peoples here in S.E Asia. U can see their true cultural identity at their homeland near China border. They migrate here after mongol invasion, and occupy the land here and establish their own kingdom, sukhothai, which only come to power only at 1770an, defeating Ayuttha kingdom which was established by Malay-khmer-mon blood (called Siam). U can meet many of Ayuttha king relatives here in nothern Malaysia, claimed that Sukothai (tai) people have stole land.

    @sayyid14 don agree wif u...mon-khmer is not the father race of malay race.Instead, mon,khmer, and malay are the original inhabitants in S.E Asia long before the Tai, Lao, & Vet came. But i strongly believe that Malay is the first one, followed by khmer and mon. Then they built their own kingdom and great civilazation. Malay is the founder of Funan & Cam kingdom, and bulit Angkor, then inherited by khmer n mon people by inter-marriage between their kings and governors.

    @sayyid14 Read more histories of many parts of the world that are not written by your people, u will be surprised at what u will learn against what u have known before. Kurdistan and Irag, Turkey, Iran, Persian movement, European histories, wow....it will blow ur mind away. Before this, we were troops, and tribes, we fought, we won, we lost, we migrated, we settled down, Political and diplomatical involvements, .the world goes back longer than u think.

  • @Byrdeus
    @Byrdeus 13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @sayyid14 In addition, a country does not only constitute of race, but the it also involved responsibility. Khmer surins r thai people with khmer blood, like I am thai person with Mon and chinese blood, but I am a thai. we all have the right to vote and to travel around. Strangley, u seem to know a lot about my country, but so little about yours...don't blame all ur problems on others. Look well into the operations of ur govt. Dont let them hide anything from u.
