So glad the comments are on! I wondered how I could message in the hope you might see a response. I'm 9 months out now. Going OK. Lost almost 6 stone. Not all roses and plain sailing, but honest videos like your own, helped me to at least prepare for the possible low spots. My hair was beyond thinning out, my skin dry, dry mouth. But, please keep on at your bariatric follow up team because, even though things can be different for everyone, I went through a full hysterectomy when I was 32 and so into immediate menopause and all its hormonal changes. That was 8 years ago. I have only experienced falling and thinning hair, dry skin and perpetual dry mouth - difficulty in swallowing even - since I had the gastric surgery. Yes, could be a coincidence, but check all the same. Also, I have received negative comments about my weight loss saying I'd lost too much. I have a long way to go, still classed as obese, but I will continue to use my tool until I am comfortable. Already off 50% of my pain meds for back as a result of the weight lost so far. Please continue to listen to your own body and those around you that truly have your back. You'll know when you have made it. Finally, sorry to ramble, congratulations on your wedding and you look truly stunning!! Was glad to see your post and that all was well. You were beautiful before surgery, but you honestly glow now! Good luck on your journey and stay smiling ☺️ xx
Thank you so much for the kind words 😊 I am so glad that my honest information (sometimes too much) has been helpful to you. I know everyone’s journey will be different but it’s always good to the the possibilities before hand.

I am not sure how to fix this. The dryness…yes! EVERYTHING is DRY! Almost everything you explain here I have experienced or still experience. Sorry about your fur baby!! :( Can’t wait for future videos! Thank you for sharing!

Hi there! Just watched this video and I was so thrilled to see you! Congratulations on your marriage and for your WLS success. I must say you look fantastic! I had my RNY 7/21/20, am 5'4, 53 yes. HW 226, SW 213, GW 133, CW 139. I will pray for your tooth and other concerns. Wanted to thank you...I watched your videos before my surgery and they were very helpful. AND you're so funny. :-) Just needed to tell you how much you're appreciated - thanks for putting yourself out there, in your WLS journey and in health care.
I’m in the UK, I got a direct referral after my 6 month assessments, that will have been a year ago in March. My first appointment to meet the surgeon is in February and I’m so glad the ball is finally rolling again. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get cancelled 🤞🏼🤞🏼
I’m 11 months out and my skin is super dry, I’ve lost 1/2 my hair and I don’t have thyroid issues. I’m 10 lbs from my goal of 135. I am 5’4 and 53 yrs old. I do have dry mouth some. I use optisource and Bariatric advantage for my calcium. I’ve not had any complications and I have good days and bad days with restriction.. iI don’t enjoy food as much as I used to either..and you are right, it’s a good thing. You are looking GREAT! I especially like your haircut. It does not look thin to me:) Thank you for sharing your journey. 💜
Covid delayed my surgery from March till June finally 7 months post op now and I’m so glad you finally got back in and made a update I’ve been thinking of you recently wondering when there was gonna be another update on life with you congrats on your wedding
Your day before surgery video popped up on my feed so I had to find your most recent! You look wonderful! Congrats on your recent marriage...may you both have a lifetime of love and happiness together.💐🥂 Thanks for the videos ☺️
Thank you so much !! I’m pre-op still a few months out staying to a bariatric style of diet , watching every video I can , finding most they scare me and make me wonder if it’s really worth it . I watched one of your pre-op videos and now this one and you look amazing and that has rejuvenated me to keep going , it seems I have a million questions , but the only one important question , would you still do it now you been thought it ? ---- Update 5 1/2 months later : I’ve stayed on a Bariatric style diet and lost 81 pounds ! My Cardiologist and Primary Care Doctor’s no longer agree or support the Bariatric Surgery. Deep inside I truly thankful I did not have to go through that .
Congratulations on getting married. I have hypothyroidism also. I just got The RNY on 4/7/21. Would like to see what you eat in a day , what vitamins you are using as well.
I'm 6 months loop ds only lost 50lbs , dryness hair and teeth need better vitamin and collagen , poor thang you seem so tired, but good for you on your weight loss and marriage. My taste buds have changed also, I'm so mad I haven't lost much and I'm able to eat more
Thank you for the kind words. The weight loss did slow down for me at 6 months as well but it will continue to drop. My recommendation is only eat when your hungry.
Are you happy with losing all the weight? If you could do it all over again - would you? My surgery date is Feb 4th and I’m having doubts with going thru with it.. I’ve watched 2 -3 other vids of yours and there seems to be a lot happening with losing hair, taste spuds, teeth decay, dry skin - all stuff I’m focused on now with trying to maintain. The “ dumping” really concerns me... What is the hardest part you have gone thru with having had the surgery ? Thank you so much for sharing and being brutally honest 🌷 S
I would absolutely do it all over again tomorrow if I had to. Even with all the hair loss and everything. I feel so much better and feel healthier. I don’t hurt all the time anymore and I don’t have a constant feeling of fatigue.
I had the surgery and I personally wouldn’t of done it if I had known about the constant nausea. I’m nauseous every day and constantly have the feeling of hunger, even after I eat. When I do eat I’m fine but then after a little while I’m nauseous. To date I have not lost any hair or tooth decay, I also have not experienced the dumping syndrome.
What made you decide your surgery opposed to sleeve surgery? I can’t decide. Appreciate your honesty but it scares the crap out of me in a normal way. Thanks for being so honest.
I went with RNY because it’s considered the “golden standard” for WLS. I was scared as well but would do it again tomorrow if I had to. I’m sure you will make the right choice for your goals. Wishing you much success 😊
I do t say this to be harsh or destructive but you seem overwhelming depressed or down. I hope things get better for you. I know there is a disease called Shogrin’s and it causes dryness all over the body. You might ask for the testing
I suffer from a panic attack a year after the surgery ... and I do not know the reason ... Most of the things are good, but it happened after the changes, for example: excessive energy and sometimes lethargy ...

Update 5 1/2 months later :
I’ve stayed on a Bariatric style diet and lost 81 pounds !
My Cardiologist and Primary Care Doctor’s no longer agree or support the Bariatric Surgery.
Deep inside I truly thankful I did not have to go through that .
I would absolutely do it all over again even after all the hardships I’ve been through. It has changed my life for the better.
Hopefully I got the comments turned on for this video. Let me know guys. Thanks 😊
Do you have an Instagram? I’m going thru the beginning stages of wls!
@@Mamastuder yes ma’am ashleylittlejohn864 is my user name 😊
I am three weeks out and I need to discuss switching to pills. The chewable vitamins are now making me sick.
Congratulations on getting married. I have hypothyroidism also. I just got The RNY on 4/7/21. Would like to see what you eat in a day , what vitamins you are using as well.
I can do a what I eat in a day video tomorrow if you would like 👍🏼

I was exhausted. Work had been crazy all week.
I suffer from a panic attack a year after the surgery ... and I do not know the reason ... Most of the things are good, but it happened after the changes, for example: excessive energy and sometimes lethargy ...
My anxiety peeked after surgery as well. I blamed it on the hormone imbalance 🤷🏻♀️
I am following you from Egypt, and I find it difficult to translate words through the video ... Is it possible to add words to the screen
Is the feeling of food passing from the stomach to the intestine still a painful feeling ... I mean the link between the stomach and intestine
You seem depressed to me. Do you regret the surgery? Are you okay?
I don’t regret the surgery at all. It hasn’t all been sunshine and rainbows but it has been totally worth it. I’m doing good now😊
you look so sad:(
Just exhausted 😴
Ask Hubby to workout with you. Women of a certain age need to workout not only for weight loss but overall health and wellness.
Why are you so sad?
