I wasn't expecting to see someone react to my Brave playlist. lol If you want to see more Brave, I have a second playlist that has all of the transformation sequences from each show.
11:35 The character design constantly changes because the designer might not be the same going from show to show, but the mech designs are usually done by Kunio Okawara (the guy who designed the first Gundam).
The Takara Transformers team was also heavily involved. Hence why many of them resemble transformers, not to mention some actually being based on Transformers designs.
Yeah, this is the same studio (Sunrise) that made Gundam. If Gundam is Sunrise's Real- Robot franchise then Brave is their Super-Robot franchise. Also, a good number of the robots are created by humans so their stories are very intertwined, unlike in Transformers when you can basically ditch the human side.
DAMN... You're the only one that i've seen that reacting to the Gaogaigar opening in youtube, which is one of my ALL TIME favorite mecha anime. This is AWESOME
19:08 not the same guy but he's in the same band with Kitadani Hiroshi (the one sing WE ARE of One Piece). The band name is JAM PROJECT (This band play the ONE PUNCH MAN OP) If you watch Dragon Ball then there's a man in this group sing CHA LA HEAD CHA LA (Kagayema Hironobu) And an old member was Rica Matsumoto used to sing Pokemon opening You should check out more of this band's songs
So the story around how the brave series was made is cause the the company that was making the Transformers toys had a falling out with the studio that was making the Transformers anime, Toei Animation. So Takara struck a deal with a new animation studio, Sunrise, to launch a brand new series using left over designs that were meant for followup Transformers series.
Also Takara were really shitty to Sunrise throughout the whole situation, that Sunrise made the ultimate villain of one of the Brave shows a stand in for Takara.
19:11 Yes and no, We Are! is done by Hiroshi Kitadani, this is Masaaki Endoh, aka the one of the singers of JAM Project. However, Kitadani is also one of the singers of JAM Project. If you're unfamiliar with JAM Project, they did the iconic One Punch Man opening.
GaoGaiGar, aside from quite likely being one inspiration for Gurren Lagann, I can only describe as having a lot of little things that scratch my brain aside from being generally awesome!
11:25 Look wise some robots look the same because they are based on transformer's designs to save money and time. They even repainted the toys and made them into new characters.
6:46 Fun fact: The protagonist, Senpuuji Maito, is voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama. Maito was one of his earliest roles, and he would later go on to voice the protagonist of GaoGaiGar as well. If you don't know who Hiyama is, you might know him as the guy who did Adult Link's voice in Ocarina of Time.
"Is this Japanese Transformers" Ma dude, the Transformers robots themselves are designed by Japanese folks (Takara) as toys (Diaclone) which then Hasbro brought to America, created a different story around them, and called them Transformers.
13:49 By the way, if you liked these shows and like mechs in general, check out Super Robot Wars if you haven't already. You might have to import/pirate it for the English version, but Super Robot Wars X has Mightgaine, Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, a few Gundams, and a bunch of other mecha shows in it as part of the cast list. -you can save Nia btw-
You should take a look at the openings for the video games that are a part of this series as well! Brave saga Brave saga 2 And new century brave wars They all have fully animated openings and are parts of the brave series
so, history lesson: transformers started a life as several different japanese toylines, which were brought together in the west as qhat we know today as transformers g1. now during the 90s transformers weren't selling very well in jp, and so takara decided to make a new series of transforming super robots; the brave series
Yeah but I feel like Japan does the human characters really well and make you like and care for them, were as America does not but they still try to make you care
@@Runack09 I wouldn't call that universal. Out of the more than 20 Japanese Godzilla films there are four or five that actually have decent human plots.
The Brave Command Dagwon there are chosen teenager by Brave alien to become Robot Team it kinda henshin to human size and transfer to medium size robot and finally gattai (Tranformation) to Big Robot
@@ASMRPongpoom Brave is weird when it comes to copyright stuff. My other playlist has all of the transformation footage. A bunch were missing, so I had to upload them myself. Turns out the stock footage from certain episodes gets hit, while others don't. It's very strange.
Gaogaigar is the best of Brave series and also the last of them too. So they put everything to it ang go beyond but if you start this series with GGG you may not not enjoy all the rest.
3:06 Fun fact, Fighbird is where the "Is this a pigeon?" meme came from
Finally someone who reacts the opening of the Brave Series!! waiting for ages
15:15 GaoGaiGar's Dividing Driver creates a subspace for him to fight in, so as to not damage the city
I wasn't expecting to see someone react to my Brave playlist. lol

Dagwon was a love letter to tokusatsu heroes, being a mix of Super Sentai and Ultraman with the mecha genre.

Aw hell yeah, Brave! I remember watching it last summer, best super robot, living Mecha series ever!

This is only partially correct. Ultra Raker is the only design that was initially planned for Transformers.
@@TeamTowers1 It seems this relationship has been repaired, as TakaraTomy are releasing a new King Exkaiser figure.
9:04 To quote a meme from this anime that you might've seen..."Because it looks cool."

Ayy, nice to see this one

Yes. GL's main inspirations are Mazinger, GGG, and Getter Robo.

And what he doesn't know, is that Transformers themselves, have Japanese origins, from Diaclone in the 80's.

Masaaki Endoh did the opening themes for Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger and Ultraman Z.
You should also check out the 2011 version of Voltron it's called Voltron force
Votron (GoLion) Robotec(Macross)
You should check out the ryukendo or garo transformations
But the humans having more screen time than the monsters is a thing in most the Japanese Godzilla films to.
