      @trialmx ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, I did also. It's why I watched the video. I wanted to see if I could take the rail off as an assembled unit. I ended up taking off each cross rail.

      @@trialmxhow did you get the (back) cross rail off? What Ford tool did you use pls thx

    • @trialmx
      @trialmx ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@larryclark609 for the removal of the aft crossbrace from the fore and aft rail I used a T30 bit. Although it's a little sloppy. A torxplus is probably what it is. Once I got the aft crossrail off I realized I needed to unscrew the the aft "rooftop clamp" bolt completely with the provided special ford torque wrench and the aft section would dislodge from the roof. Next time I remove the roof rack I'll try to remove it as an assembly without removing the Crossbars.

      @@trialmxwhat? Is there a latch holding the back part of the roof rack onto the body of the Bronco? I’m trying to slide it fwd or bwd and nothing.

    • @trialmx
      @trialmx 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@matttully2132 I had the same " stuck to the roof" issue the first time I took off the rack. Be sure you loosen the clamp bolt all the way (the bolt where the ford provided odd looking torque wrench is use) it's a retained bolt it won't come out. Then it's a matter of the getting the rubber pad on the rack that meet the roof to release it friction bond. A mild continuous pressure upward should do it.

    Good how-to video, but not sure the removal of the rear rack caps are necessary (2:47). And glad you pointed out the top bolt at the front for the hard top removal. Other how-to instructions only focus on the inside bolts and don't point out the one on the top. I admit that I missed that one on my first top removal.

    What tool did you use to take the (back) crossbar off of the sidebars?

  • @WickedSlammy
    @WickedSlammy ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Torx bolts on these are not regular Torx, they are Torx Plus. If you use a regular torx bit you will either break your tool or strip out the hardware.
    These bolts are also what is on the front bumper.
    Removing the covers on the rear part of the luggage rack is also unnecessary. All you have to do is loosen the triangle bolts and the clamp will release.
